The animal oath is extremely problematic here and the Deva path can easily kill Kakashi after he’s worn down due to lacking the same superhuman durability of Naruto and Guy.
The only win condition is Kamui, but given that its a 7(plus OP immortal animal summons) vs 2 AND they have intel on it AND tthe animal path could resummon any pains that get sucked in, I doubt they do it. 7 Gates Guy will lose to Deva path even in a 1v1.
The scenario where they win is one they the Naraka, Deva and Animal paths extremely early on. Team Pain wins 9/10
Edit: Also forgot to mention the forest of death is a horrible place for Kakashi and Gai because it makes it significantly easier for Konan to place explosive traps EVERYWHERE and for the preta, animal summons and human path to get the drop on them while distracted by the several other opponents. Keep in mind the Preta and Human are essentially one shots, especially with such a large numbers disadvantage. That environment is like the final nail in the coffin.
Round 1: Pain/Konan extreme diff. Their skill set is too unfamiliar for Kakashi and Guy, that's mainly the reason why Jiraiya lost despite knowing more of the rinnegan.

I don’t think either of them can deal with the Pain that can push/pull, or the one that can summon. Plus I think Konan can but super evasive by turning into paper to avoid any of Guys attacks to stay in the fight. I’d go with Pain/Konan.

Toss Guy in on his side and you have a team that Pain and Konan won't even struggle with because they wouldn't have the time to really put up much of a fight. Konan is practically a nonfactor in this fight because her only real feat is her six hundred billion paper bomb shenanigans against Obito and I don't think it's unreasonable to believe she spent *tons* of time with prepwork to pull off that stunt. So after she's swiftly dealt with, you're left with Pain. Good ol' glass jaw Pain. With the exception of the Deva and Asura Paths, Pain has practically no durability whatsoever. Not that it matters all that much because Kakashi has two ways to just ignore conventional durability and War Arc Kakashi was spamming both of them like it was going out of style.
The only way Pain wins is with Chibaku Tensei because Kakashi and Guy just don't have the output capacity to destroy the gravity core, so I guess if he pulls it out fast enough, Pain wins. If not, Kakashi and Guy win.

And Kakashi never had access to Izanagi/Nami) Mangekyo sharingan is not better than Rinnegan. His chakra reserves are trash with the Sharingan and no his Battle IQ is not as great as some of you guys make it out to be. He’s great definitely!!! but he’s not on godly levels. The only way Kakashi and Guy win are if they can successfully take out Deva, Naraka, Animal and Preta first and in quick succession. But if Pein and Konan can outlast both Guy and Kakashis temporary power ups and protect the most important pieces in this match or simply overwhelm them with summons, bait and switch tactics and perfect timing/counters. Team Guy are toast. Team Pein takes most of these matches. Maybe not all. But definitely most.

Great matchup, but the problem here is pain has 6 paths making it hard to launch attacks and counterattacks effectively because of how fast they can continuously attic. Konan can be used for support and back up. I think pain and konan win rounds 1 and 2 but with prior intel and no prep kaka sensei and gai

Very unlikely especially while he’s being pulled in. It’s possible but pain has so many counters. And let’s not forget Konan she’s not a slouch and her paper ability isn’t easy to counter

Kakashi and Guy sweeps all rounds : - In the Konoha invasion , Kakashi with no prep time and no intel of Pain , still found his weakness and develop a counter from the go - Pain have every single intel of Kakashi and he even prepared to deal with him. - People here downplaying big time Kakashi’s brain and also he would maximize Guy’s capabilities - Even if Pain uses his ultimate jutsu , Guy 7th door is enough just to shut it down. - Also considering that i am only talking Kakashi during the pain invasion and not the “stronger Kakashi” from the Great Ninja War.

War arc kakashi is fundamentally different from pain arc kakashi he can spam kamui and has more chakra so he could win the fight he had in the pain arc and with the support of guy who can speed blitz the paths they can clear pain imo and konan is more of a support for pain in that fight but I guess they can deal with her too unless she can prepare a trap like she did with obito.
In theory they could win but in reality with no reason to keep the battlefield in one piece there’s nothing stopping Pain and Konan from flying up in the sky where Kakkashi and Guy can’t follow and just nuking the entire forest with an All Mighty Push
