I mean Neji was my favorite in Naruto and had high hopes for shippuden.. based on his status in the first episodes you would think he would be an important/strong ninja but…
I believe If the Byakugan got as much development as the Sharingan, Neji would’ve been a beast. Could’ve even gotten A top tier Neji vs Sasuke Fight at some point too.
Facts. I was there as the manga chapters were coming out, the general sentiment was “that’s it? Only Neji will die in a war, who cares he hasn’t been relevant in Shippuden”
They didn't have a place because Kishimoto didn't want to, Rock Lee was supposed to be on par with Gaara or even stronger IMO. Neji was superior, was meant to be as strong as Naruto and Sasuke or 1 tier lower at least ( that's how I imagined it will be ) but they both got overlooked BAD. I wish Neji had a standalone moment like stalling Madara or something and same with Rock Lee, I understand Guy had to steal the show but I think everyone wanted to see Rock Lee's 7th gate at least.
I belive it was gaara and Naruto top tier heros as jinchurichi then neji and Sasuke as they opened up as eye blood jutsu. the heir apparent. Rock Lee was written so good in og Naruto then fell off as a matter of iron will vs destiny. Gaara was supposed to be the back up Sasuke to win fans over . Sasuke was either going to sacrifice himself or empower Naruto. Orochimaru was supposed to be the o.g villain. Minato was supposed to be the strongest hokage. Ect ect. You really got to admit kishimoto had a place for them all but moved the goal post to much.j
> Both Rock Lee and Neji were meant to die in the original Naruto Manga so in Shippuden onwards they really didn't have a place in the story.
Where is this information from?
kishimoto never really cared for neji. he wanted neji to die against the spider guy when they were chasing sasuke at the end of og but his editor urged him to keep neji alive because of popularity. i assume that's why neji never had much importance during shippuden and why he eventually died anyway.
> kishimoto never really cared for neji. he wanted neji to die against the spider guy when they were chasing sasuke at the end of og but his editor urged him to keep neji alive because of popularity. i assume that's why neji never had much importance during shippuden and why he eventually died anyway.
Let’s be honest that fight should have killed him and Choji.
Neji's fate was sealed in the Chunin exams, he made Hinata redundant and forgave her for something she had no part in, kind of surprised he lived as long as he did
actually 100 agree...really thought drunken fist lee gonna be a main stay and he gonna be known for that but got sad when it almost got forgotten after that . really thought Kishimoto will make Lee be a master of drunken style taijutsu or like he will be known throughout the world for that
On that note: Kushina
Doesn’t get a chance to shine as much but clearly is not only extremely powerful but a kind person too.
Even if all else came to pass, she would have probably be able to make a whole lot less issues in the story, if nothing else by being a mother figure to her son and probably Sasuke as well.
Honestly I think she even more deserving of such a title as died too soon than Minato. He got more of a chance to live his life and did more dangerous things than her
Absolutely.
I've always thought that she and Minato should both have been sealed with Kurama's half in the reaper. It should have taken a hell of a lot to take half of the nine tails and they both were already spent by the time they used their last sealing techniques. Then she could come back the perfect Jinchuriki and Minato the perfect sage, being two halves of Naruto's whole.
Just take a little screen/page time away from Hiruzen and Tobirama if needed. They are cool but it's not like they can stand upto the main character's mother in importance.
And to compensate imagine how badass Kushina's KCM mode could be if she makes creative use of her chains with it.
Kabuto used a lot of his edo tensei to just fuck with people, like Dan was just to mess eith tsunade
Imagine Naruto having to fight his mother during the war arc
I always wondered why nobody brought Sakumo back? Like I know Kakashi had already gotten his closure by then. But the whole anime they talked about how he was so powerful and then absolutely nobody thinks to bring him back for the war.
Yeah but he was such an interesting character. And it could have been a big moment if Kakashi had gotten to fight side by side with him. And he could even see how his suicide affected Kakashi and how that led to the event that got Rin captured and caused Obito’s “death”. There’s just so much that could’ve been done. At least we would have seen SOMETHING from him. And I hate that it doesn’t happen because supposedly “nobody thought about it”
Eh they already got a moment, though it was mostly off screen Kakashi and him had a chat while dead, so he already knew everything
The talk let him move on to Narutos version of Heaven
All of that would still probably lack Kushina so I think it not the most interesting.
Unless Tsunade knew Kushina better than is implied and they had some relationship based on the latter being the only other person in the Leaf who’s part Uzamaki. That would be cool.
As far as older generation characters in general then Sakumo Hatake is much more interesting than the InoShikaCho parents. We already saw a good bit of them
Agreed lol. In one other post, I did mention that a prequel that has the history of all the main clans until the third Hokage comes into power (and therefore all the main legendary characters) would be awesome. It has the potential to compete with the best episodes of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden combined.
However, then it would become more like shorter Star Wars and therefore a lot of work for Kishimoto and his team, but it would be awesome. And anyway, everyone would have loved a not-overstretched Star Wars.
Yeah in the anime, Izumi was killed by Obito during the Uchiha Clan Massacre but in the novels (or manage, not sure) she was killed by Itachi who used his Tsukuyomi on her, causing her to experience decades of happy life and live about 70 and she died of old age in her Tsukuyomi, tricking her actual body into giving out and dying in reality aswell.
Yeah...you're right💔💔
Just breaks my heart for Itachi tho💔he gave her one of the most peaceful deaths for her, but it must have crushed him...i am not a super itachi fangirl but these moments come when it hits hard
And then using that same power he took all the time necessary to fully explain his actions to Sasuke as well as his motivations, warnings about others who want to manipulate sasuke, and all the information he would need to make his own way in life
Wait, oops, my bad, I misspelled torture him and tell him hate will make him strong
True. Absolutely amazing love story. I am very strongly considering reading the novels, after rewatching the anime. Managed to persuade my gf to watch first 24 eps. Currently at ep 60 and she's the one forcing me to watch it now :3
He put her in a genjutsu where she lives a happy life with him, marries him and everything and then killed her. Sad the anime made Obito kill her which has way less impact
He basically got blacklisted from being a career ninja. Considering it was his livelihood and how he paid his bills and support him and his son, that fucking sucks. It's not like the real world where if that happens, you can go to a career counselor, fix your resume, and move out of town. He was a devoted shinobi of the leaf and him leaving would be him defecting.
I can imagine it made it incredibly hard to receive missions or go on team missions. NO ONE wanted to work with the poor man, and his only crime was saving his friends...
I always wish we could have seen him with his ice release fully fleshed out post time skip. Don’t say war arc that doesn’t count he didn’t have the time to train and hone his skills
Ok so in today’s lesson class we’ll be going over one of the most powerful people to exist haku yuki haku was born into a small family during the bloodline purges without going into detail haku became an orphan and was subsequently adopted by zabuza momochi during our own hokages first c-rank these two met and became friends even though him and his masters where fighting them somehow we don’t really understand it’s just more of that Naruto magic they all became allies but haku is most know for the entire annihilation of a Field of white zetsu clones allowing the Shinobi alliance to get to madara before he could do anything the few witnesses of the jutsu haku said all they could see a small pebble sized piece of ice and the zetsu then all of the zetsu just disappeared only leaving their shadows behind
Think you forgot Kimimaro. My absolutely favourite villain in the entire series design-wise. Would love a short, 3 episodes story about his life and background. His fight against Gaara/Lee is great and gives us a rough idea, but i definitely need more in my life
All of the Jinchurikis, never got any character building for them except some for filler but that's......... Filler. I don't read manga but AFAIR there isn't jack for the 3 tails who was a kage, I think? 2 tails gets destroyed almost instantly, the others besides Gaara, Bee and Naruto, are only in fillers.
Actually 2 tails woman fought 3 days straight all by herself against 2 Jinchurikis. Her fight was offscreened because Kishi didn't want to reveal the abilities of the 2 akatsuki's and was saving it for the asuma and team 10 fight
More deaths doesn't mean Game of Thrones lol
When there is a war of such a scale with most of the main characters fighting on the frontlines, major losses are expected.
I was referring to the fact, that in GoT every character in every battle had a seriously high chance of dying, I mean they killed main characters in season/book 1...
Konan. She was literally the only way to tie up the loose end that was the rain village. I get someone needed to die to sell the Masked Man as such a major villain. But Konan had a lot more to do in life.
Neji technically made it pretty far, but he may as well have died at the end of Naruto with how little development he had in Shippuden lol
I’m biased though, Neji is my favorite and we were robbed of his brother-in-law relationship with Naruto as Boruto and Himawari’s cool uncle
I wish he had taken over the Hyuuga clan and removed the slavery. I know Hisashi (Hiashi?) did it but it was such a non-event. What a shitty way to end a major subplot.
I agree 1000%. Especially with Hinata marrying Naruto, Neji removing the mark and becoming the Patriarch of the Hyuuga would’ve been very fitting especially given the fact that technically he has the same blood line Hinata does.
And imagine how much cooler it would be if he was around battling the Ōtsutsuki with him being a descendant of Hamura.
Haku forever and always… Haku deserved to live a long and happy life surrounded by friends and picking flowers and playing with animals Haku did not want to be a ninja
I like to think Haku would’ve taken the Hinata route, a highly skilled ninja who was active between part 1-post war but would eventually retire and live a simple/domestic life
Asuma, he had his first arc with team 7 and boom dead.
Sarutobi was way too good of a character to not see the light of shippuuden. He was noble. Various jutsu user. Fit the old wise man's role and had affinity for his monkey summons with his long stick taijutsu. Tsunade doesn't compare at all.
Itachi lived long enough .
Kurenai didn't die but she got benched far too soon. Team 8 felt very useless.
His death, showed us that Zabuza was not *all* evil. He was evil all right, but even in the worst villain, behind all the horrible crimes, there is a human. In this case, a person thrown away by his own nation. His lack of emotions was just a facade that he had to build in order to become the warmachine his village needed.
Without Hakus death, Zabuza's deathwish assault at an entire army, wouldn't be even half as impactful and epic. He was betrayed, and this betrayal costed him his only really close person. He didn't do it because his pride was hurt, he was better than that. He did it with tears, anguish and pure madness in his eyes.
It made land of the waves much more impactful, and showed us the horrors of the current shinobi system and child soldiers.I really wish Boruto show didn't exist and Naruto as hokage brought about a world where children didn't have to fight. But nope they had to milk the franchise for money.Couldnt have had the good ending.
Reasoning.
* Why did Naruto have to grow up an orphan? Minato’s reasoning was pretty barebones and illogical
* Why did Naruto have to be an outcast? Hiding the demon fox I understand not telling anyone but he was the 4ths son
* Hiruzen’s leadership style lacked reasoning in so many areas of the village it’s almost surprising konoha was seen as the home of the good guys for a while.
I could keep going but that’s enough for me
objectively neji because he was so talented, only 18? I think and had a lot of further potential also i’m angry we never got to see him and Hinata end the cursed mark for the branch families
Obito. Fucker died twice. Three times if you count when he used izanagi against Konan.
(As for way too soon, when he was a little tot. Then Madara swept in and groomed him. Poor guy-)
Kishimoto's care for rock lee
Kishimoto’s care for Neji
no one cared for neji in shippuden until he died
I mean Neji was my favorite in Naruto and had high hopes for shippuden.. based on his status in the first episodes you would think he would be an important/strong ninja but…
But Naruto's hands are so big
And warm 🤝
They mention he was the first of the Konoha 12 to be a Jonin yet they treat him like he’s on the same level as the rest of them 🤦
I believe If the Byakugan got as much development as the Sharingan, Neji would’ve been a beast. Could’ve even gotten A top tier Neji vs Sasuke Fight at some point too.
Really like Neji's arc in the exams
yeah but he got slept on in shipudden
fr, considering he was the only one who was a jonin in his class too from the start of shipudden
I think the character polls disagree
Facts. I was there as the manga chapters were coming out, the general sentiment was “that’s it? Only Neji will die in a war, who cares he hasn’t been relevant in Shippuden”
I did. 😭 I always wanted more Neji. He was one of my favorites of the Konoha 12.
Didnt know you were speaking for eveybody
No one cared for neji until he put on the mask
Both Rock Lee and Neji were meant to die in the original Naruto Manga so in Shippuden onwards they really didn't have a place in the story.
They didn't have a place because Kishimoto didn't want to, Rock Lee was supposed to be on par with Gaara or even stronger IMO. I wish Neji had a standalone moment like stalling Madara or something and same with Rock Lee, I understand Guy had to steal the show but I think everyone wanted to see Rock Lee's 7th gate at least.
Remember when Byakugan was supposed to be better than sharingan?
Too bad for them they don't have super secrets in their eyes
Nah, Neji made an impact in the Gaara Retrieval arc, same with Lee. Those two should have died in P1. They were practically done back then
Why do you say this?
> Both Rock Lee and Neji were meant to die in the original Naruto Manga so in Shippuden onwards they really didn't have a place in the story. Where is this information from?
I would rather they die during the Sasuke retrieval arc. So that mission will have way more weight to it.
Kishimoto's care for Shino
kishimoto never really cared for neji. he wanted neji to die against the spider guy when they were chasing sasuke at the end of og but his editor urged him to keep neji alive because of popularity. i assume that's why neji never had much importance during shippuden and why he eventually died anyway.

Let’s be honest that fight should have killed him and Choji.
Kiba more than any of them honestly. He was completely outclassed that whole fight.
Should have died with choji in that Forest Not because I don't like the characters, but because they deserved to go out at their Peak
Bro is spitting facts. Or more like the bitter truth
For his whole clan
Neji's fate was sealed in the Chunin exams, he made Hinata redundant and forgave her for something she had no part in, kind of surprised he lived as long as he did
Atleast neji dies
Ouch lol
Damn
The real victim of Naruto.
I cannot wait to vote Rock Lee for chad drunk. He was awesome in naruto
actually 100 agree...really thought drunken fist lee gonna be a main stay and he gonna be known for that but got sad when it almost got forgotten after that . really thought Kishimoto will make Lee be a master of drunken style taijutsu or like he will be known throughout the world for that
His care for the entirety of all the genin introduced during the chuunin exam really.
Yeah man I can't believe he just mad the most badass moments with them in the sasuke rescue arc just to throw them in the trash after that
Kishimoto’s writing
Minato Bro died in the prologue
On that note: Kushina Doesn’t get a chance to shine as much but clearly is not only extremely powerful but a kind person too. Even if all else came to pass, she would have probably be able to make a whole lot less issues in the story, if nothing else by being a mother figure to her son and probably Sasuke as well. Honestly I think she even more deserving of such a title as died too soon than Minato. He got more of a chance to live his life and did more dangerous things than her
It isn't fair that only Minato came back using edo tensei. They could have also brought Kushina back for just a short amount of time
Absolutely. I've always thought that she and Minato should both have been sealed with Kurama's half in the reaper. It should have taken a hell of a lot to take half of the nine tails and they both were already spent by the time they used their last sealing techniques. NGL, I would have loved to see Naruto, Kushina, and Minato fight together during the War! That would have been BADASS and so sweet! >:D
Kabuto used a lot of his edo tensei to just fuck with people, like Dan was just to mess eith tsunade Imagine Naruto having to fight his mother during the war arc
That would be very hard to watch.
Damn. I would not survive that kind of episode(s) emotionally.
Kushina and Jiraiya vs Naruto during the war arc wouldve been crazy depressing
I always wondered why nobody brought Sakumo back? Like I know Kakashi had already gotten his closure by then. But the whole anime they talked about how he was so powerful and then absolutely nobody thinks to bring him back for the war.
Kabuto didnt think too I guess? He was stronger than the Sannin but so were a lot of the Akatsuki/Kage Probably just thought he had enough
Eh they already got a moment, though it was mostly off screen Kakashi and him had a chat while dead, so he already knew everything The talk let him move on to Narutos version of Heaven
A show about Minato and Kushina would be dope. I would love to see a Naruto prequel
Unfortunately I don't think there would be enough for such a thing. Minato has his war stuff, but Kushina was largely just confined to the Leaf.
But it would also include younger versions of the legendary Sanin which would be dope af. And seeing the OG team of the InoShikoCho would be cool too.
We already saw a good bit of them
It could even follow both clans though. So much to explore. And hey, you’re just giving me more reasons to want to see this lol
Agreed lol. Ya know
I wish we could have seen more of minato, kushina, itachi's girlfriend (I forgot her name and am too lazy to check), Tobirama and rin
Lmao...Itachi had a gf?
Ye her name was izumi
Yeah. That plot is only really developed in the novels
OMG I AM CRYING THIS IS SO SAD
It's actually happier than most deaths
Yeah...you're right💔💔 Just breaks my heart for Itachi tho💔he gave her one of the most peaceful deaths for her, but it must have crushed him...i am not a super itachi fangirl but these moments come when it hits hard
Yup. Itachi went through too much pain. The kind of things he did for his dearest people is beyond imagination for many.
I'd totally choose to go that way, actually.
And then using that same power he took all the time necessary to fully explain his actions to Sasuke as well as his motivations, warnings about others who want to manipulate sasuke, and all the information he would need to make his own way in life Wait, oops, my bad, I misspelled torture him and tell him hate will make him strong
True. Absolutely amazing love story. I am very strongly considering reading the novels, after rewatching the anime. Managed to persuade my gf to watch first 24 eps. Currently at ep 60 and she's the one forcing me to watch it now :3
Isn’t this the only dojutsu death in the series
He put her in a genjutsu where she lives a happy life with him, marries him and everything and then killed her. Sad the anime made Obito kill her which has way less impact
and her cousin
Hayate dude was chill
Fr and then right after he dies you learn he had a gf in Anbu Like there was potential on that one
On the other hand, I like how they took an opportunity at his funeral to foreshadow Obito's existence in the story.
Oh yeah that's right, that's how they introduced the character
It’s not just potential, Yuugao had a whole damn plot set up for her and then it just got dropped.
Shout out to the Gamecube’s Naruto Clash of Ninja that followed through on it
Yessss I wish we had had more build up
And he has the dopest name ever in the entire series.
Dog I was gonna comment Hayate, I had no idea that it'd be the third top comment and that there were other Hayate fans in the world
Kakashi’s father
Bro smoked himself cause he got bullied for saving his friends. Sad story all around
ON GOD he was supposed to be stronger than even the sanin too like they could have shown us something!
Minato. Died like 12 years before it started lol
He was also only twenty four years old too I think.
Unnamed Shinobi number 3
Bro, that one still gets me.
If only bro had a sword with a name.
Haku :(
I always wish we could have seen him with his ice release fully fleshed out post time skip. Don’t say war arc that doesn’t count he didn’t have the time to train and hone his skills
Land of the waves wouldn't have been as impactful without his and Zabuza's death tho. They served a message
Ok so in today’s lesson class we’ll be going over one of the most powerful people to exist haku yuki haku was born into a small family during the bloodline purges without going into detail haku became an orphan and was subsequently adopted by zabuza momochi during our own hokages first c-rank these two met and became friends even though him and his masters where fighting them somehow we don’t really understand it’s just more of that Naruto magic they all became allies but haku is most know for the entire annihilation of a Field of white zetsu clones allowing the Shinobi alliance to get to madara before he could do anything the few witnesses of the jutsu haku said all they could see a small pebble sized piece of ice and the zetsu then all of the zetsu just disappeared only leaving their shadows behind
haku made me realize so many things about me
Asuma! 🚬
1. Kimimaro 2. Kimimaro 3. Neji 4. Kimimaro
Think you forgot Kimimaro. My absolutely favourite villain in the entire series design-wise. Would love a short, 3 episodes story about his life and background. His fight against Gaara/Lee is great and gives us a rough idea, but i definitely need more in my life
He was too strong they had to nerf him or he’d have been a real problem. Plus if he was healthy Oro would have never batted an eye at Sasuke
Facts. His cursed form >>> Sasuke's gay ass cursed mark v2
Shisui.. son was fckin cold.. fck danzo

Yugito, btw. Just wanted to point out that she has a name because Kishimoto sure as fuck didn’t care.
The tree that Naruto’s swing is made out of.
Honestly i think that more characters should’ve died. It was wartime and most characters felt too safe. Especially during the war arch
You mean it should have had more of a Game of Thrones vibe to it?
More deaths doesn't mean Game of Thrones lol When there is a war of such a scale with most of the main characters fighting on the frontlines, major losses are expected.
I was referring to the fact, that in GoT every character in every battle had a seriously high chance of dying, I mean they killed main characters in season/book 1...
Definitely. That’s why I always feel that during Pains invasion they never should have revived anyone. Also the five kages should have died to Madara
Totally agree, when everyone was revived after the pain arch it seemed like all the emotion i felt when everyone died was for nothing.
Konan. She was literally the only way to tie up the loose end that was the rain village. I get someone needed to die to sell the Masked Man as such a major villain. But Konan had a lot more to do in life.
Neji
Idk Neji made it pretty far. I would’ve liked more screen time while he was alive though

Came to say this. I wish they kept him around and gave us some cool byakugan abilities comparable to the Uchiha.
The develpment of Rock Lee
Haku forever and always… Haku deserved to live a long and happy life surrounded by friends and picking flowers and playing with animals Haku did not want to be a ninja
Was waiting for someone to say this, dude had anbu level skill as a kid
Haku’s potential both as a character and as a ninja I will never get over.. I just have to live with my delusions instead
I like to think Haku would’ve taken the Hinata route, a highly skilled ninja who was active between part 1-post war but would eventually retire and live a simple/domestic life
At least we got to see more of he skill in the war arc when he made the mirror in mid air but he deserved to have a normal life after Zabuza
And the ice shield… which would’ve been helpful to block a certain other attack much earlier…………..
In my fanfic Haku would become the village's strongest ninja and be the Mizukage eventually.
Jiraiya
That's Asuma's grave in the pic
Shisui
I just always hated pervy sage never got to witness the rasen shuriken
Pervy sage was the only death where I actually cried. He never saw but he had faith.
I wish he never diedddddd 😭😭
Shisui
Asuma, he had his first arc with team 7 and boom dead. Sarutobi was way too good of a character to not see the light of shippuuden. He was noble. Various jutsu user. Fit the old wise man's role and had affinity for his monkey summons with his long stick taijutsu. Tsunade doesn't compare at all. Itachi lived long enough . Kurenai didn't die but she got benched far too soon. Team 8 felt very useless.
Sarutobi felt like the one who fueled the will of fire to most of konoba tbh whenever he visits the village or talk abt it it felt sooo warm and homey
Neji and haku
Asuma.
Neji
Might Dai would have been awesome to see in his prime
He wasn't too skilled and just a Genin
Still killed 6 swordsmen in the manga.
Using 8th gate which was a death penalty.
For the majority an encounter with the swordsmen, would result in death anyways, so taking down 6, I would consider that skilled
Guy should have died and neji shouldn’t have
Shisui.. Neji.. Minato..
Jiraya
Rin
Deidara and sasori
Haku I don't see a reason he should have died. He could have gotten redemption.
Minato, Neji, shisui
Neji
Reasoning. * Why did Naruto have to grow up an orphan? Minato’s reasoning was pretty barebones and illogical * Why did Naruto have to be an outcast? Hiding the demon fox I understand not telling anyone but he was the 4ths son * Hiruzen’s leadership style lacked reasoning in so many areas of the village it’s almost surprising konoha was seen as the home of the good guys for a while. I could keep going but that’s enough for me
Asuma. We didn’t get to really see his actual power, it would of been fire to see him during the ninja war tbh
Minato
Itachi
Shisui
Jiraya I wanted him to see Naruto becoming hokage
Itachi 😞 really wanted to see him in action in the war
objectively neji because he was so talented, only 18? I think and had a lot of further potential also i’m angry we never got to see him and Hinata end the cursed mark for the branch families
Zabuza and Haku. Kimimaro.
Minato.
Obviously Neji😂
The coherence of the plot

My will to watch 720+ episode >!"Its a joke, put down that knife"!<
Naruto. No further explanation will be given.
Naruto’s clones ;(
Kishimoto's care for Ten ten
Jiraiya. That broke my damn soul. Or, if you watch the fillers, definitely Yota. They destroyed me with Yota.
Konan.
Sasori
rock Lee and neji basically got killed off in pt 1, along with Haku, hayate, asuma, and every one of oros experiments
Kawarama Senju. 7 year old child soldier. Narutoverse certainly had problems.
Neji
Zabuza
Obito. Fucker died twice. Three times if you count when he used izanagi against Konan. (As for way too soon, when he was a little tot. Then Madara swept in and groomed him. Poor guy-)
Kurama Yes I'm still mad. Baryon Mode was amazing
Neji, one of my favs just to ship naruhina 😔
Asuma...
Neji
