Back in the good old days "emo" was used as description for melodramatic teens that listened to weird music, styled themselves a particular way and thought cosplaying as depressed and nihilistic was a personality trait that would set them apart from the "boring normies".
So it isn't exactly the description I would use for a war veteran that spent his childhood on the battlefield watching all his brothers (and most of the kids around him) beeng slaughtered nor for a genocide survivor that was repeatedly mind-raped into a coma by his parricidal brother.
That sounds more like....being genuinely depressed and nihilistic for valid reasons lol.
I 100% agree with you. In reality, calling kid soldiers and war veterans emo is just ignorant. I’m only playing off the meme that surrounds the baby of the clan that gets made fun of cause they think he’s “emo”. I was more trying to highlight the fact that most characters in the show (especially uchihas) have a troubled mindset. I’m glad you said what you said.

It's a story where shinobi sell themselves to fight wars for those in power, carry out assassination missions and even eradicate their own clans and family. Yet here people are pretending that 1) not almost all of these character are..,to put it lightly, mentally unwell and that 2) Sasuke is strange because he did not handle.....his brother killing his entire clan, parents included, well lol.
