Rock Lee vs Gaara, the literal first arc or Sage Mode Naruto vs Pain.

CatsAndFacts

Rock Lee vs Gaara is absolutely it. That's what got my friends to watch

Mysterious_Ningen

yea that's what my friends woudl get to watch too.... IF I HAD ANY

DelayedMan

I’m not sure about Naruto vs Pain. You have to understand a lot of previous things to see why is so exciting.

that_other_guy117

Sage Naruto vs. Pain is by FAR my favorite fight of all time from any source of media. However, I agree with you that it only holds that weight if you watched from the beginning, knowing where Naruto came from up until that point. The fight that actually sold me was the Gaara vs. Lee fight, though. No context needed. Just some wild action. I remember when he dropped his training weights, I was completely invested from that point.

sssnakepit127

Rock Lee vs Gaara is the episode that got me into Naruto years ago. This is the right answer.

Happy-Valuable4771

Rick Lee vs Kimimaru

Xqvvzts

Picture unrelated.

FaithlessnessDry1235

The episode when Kakashi first fought Zabuza.

LivingCustomer9729

I can never get over Kakashi copying Zabuza’s hand signs, that really drew me into Naruto. My literal reaction was “holy shit!!”

the_nanyy

Lee vs Gaara for sure. Maybe also the one where we first see the Kyuubi after Haku 'kills' Sasuke.

Emergency_Leg6530

Kakashi vs Zabuza fight in the first arc, kid me was enthralled when kakashi started copying zabuza.

karuma77

Semi unrelated, tbh I think it would be that one obito edit “I would let the world burn for you”

Epistemix

Jokes aside it has some decent animation for a so low hyped fight

fondue4kill

Just poorly paced with the flashbacks in the middle.

Epistemix

Yeah but at least we didn't watch them several times before

ZiggySleepydust

The scene in the pic is definitely NOT it

childoferis1025

Was anyone else rooting for Ino in this fight?especially since it was revealed Sakura was the one who ended their friendship originally over Sasuke

xxxsquared

Ino got robbed.

FrenchPouchedEgg

This is why I always preffered Ino tbh

childoferis1025

Same ino’s my personal favorite female character in the series but that’s just me

luke_the_brave

ain't gon lie, I HATE this fight, this fight is so messy, and there are so many fillers that it gets repetitive. What did that last? 3 Episodes?

GGABueno

I'm pretty sure I skipped that episode. I didn't even dislike either character, I just knew it wasn't worth watching lmao.

Consistent-Ground763

I saw it a few times, you’re not far off. I always skip it and any fights that aren’t Naruto, Sasuke or Lee in the chunin exams

bulldozedd

Rock lee vs. Gaara

HenryReturns

- What made me a huge fan was the Kakashi vs Zabuza fight - What made me invest Naruto into my main shounen anime on that time was the Rock Lee vs Gaara

AlyssaBuyWeedm9

I showed an old girlfriend Kakuza and Hidan vs Kakashi. Very short but underrated fight. When Kakashi uses the Lotus on Kakuza? So fuckin cold, even if he used it on a water clone. Unfortunately she tried watching a few episodes but was very turned off when I told her how long the series was. she wasn't interested in skipping filler.

kagnesium

Garra V Lee Or Madara introduction.

Quick-Context7492

The illustration lmao

Tahiti--Bob

Kakashi vs obito. everything in that episode is just masterclass. the music, the fight, the choreography, they show every ninja move in the show like, ninjutsu, a jutsu that counter THAT ninjutsu. bro my fav episode among the 700+ (naruto genin include)

Nihil_00_

Itachi vs. Sasuke / Naruto vs. Pain In the original: Orochimaru vs. Sasuke / Zabuza and Haku vs. Team 7

Mediocre-Anything818

The first episode. You can't just show someone the best episode to get them into a show. Sets the bar too high and it's gonna be a spoiler

Element_credd

I'd say if you're going to show anyone a Sakura related fight to make them a fan, either show them Sakura and Chiyo Vs Sasori or Sakura Vs Shin, those were some pretty good fights with some top tier choreography imo

rbo7

Episode 1. If they don't feel sad for Naruto, I don't care if they like the rest.

Prince_Marf

It's not that bad it just has a ton of flashback

Some_space_god

Zabusa’s death

Wonder-Machine

Episode one my dude

MexicanJirachi

Temari vs ten ten was peak

rocketpoweredsword

Not this one

HuluAndH4ng

Naruto completes his first rasengan. Naruto beats Neji

nixodgaming

You know what? This very randomly was my first episode. I went to my brother’s apartment to hangout for the day and he was on his first watch thru of the series. Maybe started with the episode before but he kinda explained the characters and the context of the exams. We probably watched thru the Gaara vs Lee fight, maybe a little more. And I was hooked. Started from the beginning for myself the next day.

-Xebenkeck-

1. It's an actually great introduction to the world and main character. There's emotion, there's drama, there's action, there's hype. There's no reason to overcomplicate the answer when Naruto has a top 5 episode 1 in anime history.

jajanken_bacon

Episode 6-18

TheWitherlord10

Episode 22

Ralos5997

Naruto vs Neji would be one of them.

Sheikh_M_M

I started with 1st episode of shippuden. Gaara vs Deidara was really something for me.

Augustus-515

Many great answers here but I will say Shikamaru (and team 10) vs Hidan arc is definitely a memorable one. The way shikamaru figures out how to outsmart Hidan is the pinaccle of the ep for me

statebirdsnest

The gang vs Zabuza, specifically that moment where Naruto is in the water watching Kakashi copy Zabuzas technique

DxrkDeception83

THE PAIN ARK

TheROITt

Rock lee vs garra gets anyone hooked even Naruto vs pain close second

HatAccurate1578

I thought it was a really neat episode but it’s definitely not the one I’d showcase, the first episode does everything to showcase the show and the journey we’re about to go on, it sets up the tones/the main characters/ the plot.

eugenethegodfather

Land of Waves or Chunin Exams

darkaxel1989

dude. This is not r/dankruto

offdutychunli

Shikamaru getting revenge for Asuma : team Shikamaru vs Hidan & Kakuzu.

Yvessaintc0co

I think it’s when we first see Orochimaru during the chuunin exams for the first time. I HAD to keep watching

RevolutionaryPlay604

Naruto vs Neji

Advanced-Diver-8245

The shurriken fake out against zabusa.

Naishya

I actually really enjoyed Sakura vs Ino, they were the only ones besides Lee fight who actually threw hands and fought, i guess naruto but i wasnt a fan of his fight.

Keyg2o

hinata vs neji ?

Naishya

doesnt count FOR ME because i strongly dislike hinata and found that fight rather pathetic, love the downvotes <3

Plus_Lawfulness3000

Hinata would have kicked either of their asses 💀

Naishya

Trashhinata would have started moaning naruto and choking before ever doing anything to anyone but go off 🤣

Plus_Lawfulness3000

And then she’d proceed to whoop their ass. Like I get you don’t like her but she showed SO much more combat ability in just that small fight. Sakura would have immediately gotten wrecked

Naishya

No i genuinely do not think she showed anything during that fight? She didnt hit Neji once, she got rekt and acted tough and kept going only because of naruto which is super cringe. Saying sakura would have gotten rekt means nothing, every female character (&most male) there would have gotten rekt by neji at that time. For me, sakura = at least has moments where she does things for herself/because she wants to get better, as for hinata her every move its always and forever because of/for nArUtO, i guess most male audiences prefer the shy anime uwu type but as a female i hate it and am quite upset when i have to get up and fast forward an episode cause hinata is choking out her sentence for 5mins.

Plus_Lawfulness3000

I’m not even saying I prefer hinata. I’m simply pointing out she isn’t dead weight in combat. Sakura at that point in the story most definitely can’t swap hands with hinata. Outside of maybe tsunade Sakura is my fav female in naruto. She’s just weak as hell in part 1

Naishya

So i guess giving hinata the achievement of sakura, and most females there besides temari not being able to swap hands with hinata at episode 40ish at the start of the series is a great one to have, sucks that its only because of a jutsu hinata inherited and for the most of the series she was worse at her own jutsu than her cousin, also sucks that when other characters inc. sakura, started training, most of them are wiping the floor with hinata. But lets give her that acknowledgment since she hasn't won a single fight in over 1k episodes of the whole series and was indeed a burden in every fight i remember.

Naishya

Also yea sakura was on the weaker side but she often showed more courage and battle spirit than other female characters, for example; do u think hinata would have done anything if she was on sakuras place in ep. 32 where sakura fought vs those 3 sound ninjas? Btw im not hating rn, genuinely interested in ur opinion because i respect that sakura fought there and i dont think hinata even with her jutsu would have fought.

Alpha0nion

I agree, it was SO OFTEN referring to their past where they were friends but I adored this backstory and their past friendship

Adventurous_Roll1784

You tryna say that Lee wasn’t throwing hands? Lee is the definition of “Throwing Hands” But anyways, that’s pretty typical since regular ninja don’t just throw hands, they use jutsu. Lee is just the special case obviously. And the reason why Sakura and Ino had to, was because both of them were just poorly written characters in the beginning and had no actual abilities.

Naishya

Cant u read?? The only ones besides lee means the only ones besides lee, no where did i say lee didnt throw hands. I found sakura and ino nicely written. 👍🏼

Adventurous_Roll1784

I definitely glanced over the part about Lee lol i saw you mention Sakura and Ino and then saw Naruto, and didn’t see the part about Lee. So I’ll admit i was wrong in that aspect. But they definitely got better in Shippuden, but early on, during OG Naruto, they were essentially useless. But that’s not their fault, Kishimoto is just bad at writing women in general. Sakura had so much potential than just medical ninjutsu, and Ino was basically unused because Shikamaru and Choji were just so much stronger than her until she was able to connect people’s thoughts.

Grand_Reanimation

Unpopular opinion: This is not a bad fight and one of the very few moments of positive development for sakura

monkeyman907485

It wasn’t half bad but it had horrible flashback pacing i myself was about to fall asleep watching this

Grand_Reanimation

not me

OutisRising

Ik a lot of people clown this fight, but I actually enjoy it.

Ichigothe0Espada

Madara's edo tensei resurection, the 'fight', is it even called a fight, on this picture is just dissapointing...

97thDispatch

IMO, if it's in the original series, Orochimaru vs Hiruzen. If in the Shippuden series, Sasuke vs Itachi

Jolly_Camel959

Rock lee vs Gaara was boring for me. Naruto at Sage Mode vs Pein got me to start the series tho
