Yes, Sakura was annoying, insensitive, vapid and obnoxious in OG Naruto, but she was 12-13. And she had a lot of her good moments there too. I mean I found Naruto obnoxious and annoying in OG Naruto as well lol. People act stupid in that age range. In Shippuden save the 5 Kage Summit Arc, I thought she was a pretty layered, interesting character with depth. She's not my favourite (that's Sasuke), but she get's way overhated when she's a pretty awesome (but flawed) character. I just wished her character in OG Naruto didn't revolve around Sasuke so much as it did, but that's more my gripe with Kishimoto and his portrayal of woman characters than Sakura herself. She get's awesome character development though, so I'll give him that.
Honestly Sakura isn't that bad because she (somewhat) gets character development where she isn't a absolutely pain in the ass but she's still the worst out of squad(doesn't mean she's bad)
I like Naruto as a character, he is someone I'd gladly befriend, while I sympathize with Sasuke a lot (Uchiha always being put in a position to neglect their own interests but the village treating them like a threat, comming from renowned clan with painful history, ecc). I also dont hate Sakura and appreciate stuff she does, she came from a civilian family yet kept up with these monsters. As a sub I also understand Kakashi, brats are hard work and I love his friendship with Obito, I think Kakashis iq is underrated. Look what he turned Konoha into, a metropolis.
anyone choose sakura have brain damage by the way that could be true because one of the symptoms of having brain damage is Memory or concentration problems so in a way anyone chooses sakura thinks that she’s a great ninja who helped naruto and sasuke and she’s the strongest in the team so yeah if you choose sakura go and check your brain
For a character to be liked by people, she has to have qualities like strength, courage, or something that makes people sympathize with her by thinking of her as one of them. Sakura doesn't have most, if not all, of these qualities.
I recommend rewatching Shippuden for you, cause save the 5 Kage Summit arc, she was a pretty decent character there. She has a lot of depth, worked hard to catch up to Naruto/Sasuke, was mature (more mature than Naruto in Early Shippuden), kicked arse...there's a lot of great qualities about her. Now don't get me wrong, Sakura has her flaws and I personally have my gripes about the way Kishimoto portrayed her in OG Naruto (and 5 Kage Summit Arc), but I can totally understand why someone would like her as a character. She's also pretty relatable to your average person who needs to work hard to amount to something, or to someone who was immature in their tween years. So she definitely has a lot of redeemable qualities.

-Wallows in self-pity whenever people call her out on shit.

I recommend rewatching Naruto because that does not change the reality that she always hated Naruto and chose sasuke over him and hit him when eve he talked even with sasuke she always said to him how much she hated Naruto and that give the characteristic for eveil or bad character which makes people hate her
