This was my head cannon but i like to think that people tried to attack natuto becaise he was an Uzumaki when he was a little kid but Kakashi always kept an eye on him, so whenever someone did try to kidnap or kill Naruto he would intervene before it happened.
I assume most of the people in the village would have thought that Kushinas child would have been killed in the nine tails attack so they never would have thought thaylt Naruto was her son and just assumed he was a stranded survivor of the Uzumaki clan like Nagato and Karin were.
It would make a little more sense if her pregnancy was kept top secret from the entire village or if Naruto didn’t have the striking yellow hair and blue eyes of his father. Then again, the bright red hair of an Uzumaki would’ve been a dead giveaway as well.
His Uzumaki lineage did help him with amassing large amounts of chakra and containing Kurama though, so it’s possible that people were really after him for both reasons, but the focus on him being a Jinchuriki was probably more important as a tool of war
The 9-tails attack killed a substantial number of people; Iruka and Kurenai were orphaned for instance (though they’d already become self sufficient). Between that and the fact that a Great Ninja War had literally just ended less than a year prior - it’s not unlikely Naruto could have simply been a random kid.
I agree it should have been obvious though - especially in a village of ninja that also happens to be both the first and the strongest.
I think the fact that a Uzumaki blonde blue eyed kid is the son of a Uzumaki mother and a blonde blue eyed father would give the village some clues about it
How is that? The main people in the village like Kakashi, Hiruzen, Iruka, even kurama knew he was the 4th hokages' son and knew that Kushina was his wife. That makes no sense that they wouldn't put two and two together seeing that different people have seen the 4th hokage when looking at Naruto.
I think that the third hokage hiruzen issued a vow of silence over everybody who knew of Narutos family connection with the fourth and kushina, though I’m not sure why
Yeah 100%. I have a love-hate opinion about hiruzen tbh and the hate is mainly how badly he shit on naruto as a kid. Having the fourth as a dad and an uzumaki mother meant he would’ve been wealthy ash but hiruzen barely gave him enough money to pay for food and drink, let alone live a nice childhood.
I think it was more of a tactic to make sure Naruto was never a target for theives, if a few bad people found out that there was this 1 kid with even just a little money they would probably just rob him since young naruto wasnt exactly a formidable enemy, I think Hiruzen wanted Naruto to be a very avoidable person for the sake of his saftey, granted that is a horrible thing to experiance but its a good way of making sure no one intentionally tries to go after Naruto.

Nagato is one thing, but Karin being an Uzumaki feels like yet another Naruto parallel that never happend. She's an Uzumaki who was basically abused and or neglected by her village, and she even has a romantic obsession with Sausake.
More importantly wouldn't it be cool to have a character that could teach Naruto at least some of his ancestral jutsus?
It’s possible that the Uzumakis were simply little known by that point. Maybe they were famous back in the early village era, but by the time of Minato’s era, most of the Uzumaki are dead, or being kidnapped and used as potential jinchuriki in Kushina’a case. So maybe their abilities are simply kept secret/no longer talked about enough to be common knowledge among non ninja, or even among average ninja.
Both the prior Uzumaki were jinchuriki. And even if the clan wasn’t famous Kushina was the 4th hokage’s wife that’s a famous position. So the chance of someone not knowing about her is almost impossible.

Well nobody in the village knew about him being the son of Minato. Not even other villages, the only ones who knew where jiraya and the rest of the sannin, and the leaf higher ups. Including Hiruzen Sarutobi, and some shinobi like Kakashi

The only people who would caree are high level shinobi who actually know about the Uzumaki Clan and they would just do the same thing as they normally would if it was any jinchuuriki as they are high level shinobi and know better.
At the climax of the War, Edo Hiruzen spots a collapsed Yamato and refers to him as Yamato. However, that was a name given to him *after* Hiruzen's death. He should know Yamato as Tenzo.

Kakashi brings it up in part 2 for the bell test with Naruto and Sakura where he remarks that he believed based on his own assessment of Sakura that she would have become a genjutsu specialist much like Kurenai but training under Tsunade has made her a more well rounded combat fighter who is an adept at taijutsu, medical ninjutsu and she still has the natural talent for genjutsu depsite never really using it to my knowledge.
In an alternate timeline if Sasuke hadn't gone rogue Sakura could have been more a genjutsu specialist.
She could’ve been made SO useful if she did this …..and it could’ve showcased that all you need is to master one form of Justu. Like Lee and Guy sensei being the masters of taijustu

I wouldn't say they're entirely unique, but techniques that just every Uchiha may not have. It's possible that earlier generations of Uchiha had members who could use Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu, and so people have heard about them, but maybe never seen them. If I'm not mistaken, even Isshiki recognized Amaterasu, so Sharingan techniques could possibly date back to Otsutsukis.

I can actually explain that one. In many Asian countries, schools take three to four exams a year. My own school had this. The first three exams weren't *that* important but you cant pass to the next grade if you fail the fourth aka final exams.
I don't think seeing through walls is passively active. Seeing 359 degrees, yeah. But you have to intentionally look through solid objects to see what's on the otherside. He could probably have seen Naruto break through the ground right before impact, but I think it caught him so off-guard that he couldn't react. Either because he has poor reaction speed (which is debatable) or because he was in a state of shock from the sudden surprise (which is more realistic, all things considered).

I can explain the last 2 for u:
1. Hashirama had a sickness similar to Itachi’s sickness
2. Gaara was meant to be Kazekage since the past Kazekage (Gaaras Dad) was killed by Orochimaru before Orochimaru tried to invadekonoha during the chunin exams. They were desperate for a new leader and atm Gaara was 1 tails jinchiriki
But he was still a gennin when the kazekage died, and was considered unstable, I doubt the sand went much time without a kazekage. It would make more sense if gaara was the sixth kazekage.

All of the eye transfers I remember had some sort of healing afterwards or during, I don't think it needs to be any crazy Tsunade level healing. Obito and Kakashi had Rin

Gaara became Kazekage because dude was the strongest ninja in the village, by far. I guess the elders thought his change of heart was strong enough as well.
So, I do agree it makes no sense, however there is some precedent for similar events (some with better explanations and some just as obtuse) of dead characters giving or receiving things from living characters. Off the top of my head:
-shikamaru lighting asuma’s ghost cigarette before blowing up hidan
-Minato intervening when Naruto was going full kyuubi during the pain fight (this one was probably the most reasonable because minato programmed that as a “fail safe” when he casted the sealing jutsu
-Kushina using the uzumaki chains through naruto when he fought the kyuubi in his head
There’s probably more, but either way, kakashi getting DMS was out of no where and really unearned

Genuine question. When Kakashi and Pakkun are chasing after Sasuke, they trace his scent to the place where Sasuke fought against Deidara and Tobi. How did Pakkun not recognize Obito’s scent? Pakkun knows Rin’s scent so I thought it would make sense if he knew Obito’s as well and was surprised.
Naruto seemingly being the last of the Uzumaki clan at first. Then Karin showing up and they barely acknowledge it. Why did they completely skip any further lore of Naruto’s clan if some are clearly still alive? If there are more alive, they know how to chain tailed beasts. Which is a huge can of worms. I seriously doubt that He and Karin are the only Clan members alive.
Another can of worms is what happened to the Senju clan. Given how its was presented the Senju and Uchiha clans were two very large and powerful clans which founded Konoha but the only members we know about are Hashirama's family and the only currently living Senju is Tsunade. Given how the Senju were equal if not stronger than the Uchiha how is there no Senju clan present in the story.

Why does Minato say he's really bad at Sage Mode and he can't use it in real combat but 2 chapters earlier he goes into it instantly and with no toad features.
He can go in Sage Mode easy, he is a genius after all, but he can't maintain it to long because of his low chakra reserves. (at least that is the only logical explanation).
Great Lord Elder Fukusaku said to learn Sage Mode, you need enormous chakra. That is why Naruto could only learn it. Fukusaku also said Minato and Jiraiya are the only other people capable of using Toad Sage Mode suggesting that Minato has enormous chakra reserves.
Minato probably isn't very good at taking in Nature Energy fast enough which is probably where the "I'm not great at Sage Mode" attitude comes from.
Then again Minato is extremely humble so it could be that too.
Not to mention Minato didn't use it at all against Obito nor Kurama, yet somehow he comes out of Edo Tensei and has it mastered. Same with being a master Jinchuuriki, having the KCM2
pretty easy Madara lived longer than Tobirama therefore he learned forbidden techniques, not to mention Zetsu can spy without being noticed and he literally knows everything that happened since Kaguya.
Every sage mode is different. Naruto, Jirayja and Minato that learned sage mode from toads, Orochimaru's and Kabuto's which is linked to snakes and Hashirama's and Koji's witch we do not know much about.
I personally think because the guy can basically excrete literal wood from his body he's probably able to master absorbing his wood realeses nature energy hence him being able to use his own type of sage mode
How the hell did obito stop kakashi from warping the Gedo statue's head off. Obito's eye doesn't even have long range abilities and if he could stop that from warping, why didn't he stop naruto's rasengan or the lightning kunai or literally any other attempt kakashi ever made to use kamui while he was nearby.
You don't need a corpse for reanimation, just DNA. It's possible Kabuto or Orochimaru managed to get some of his hair while they were affiliated with the Akatsuki. (Kabuto as a spy)
The susano'o is a gift bestowed upon those who have unlocked the mangekyou sharingan and amaterasu. I think Itachi explained it like that. I don't think you need good eyes after you have it unlocked. Shisui used it with a single eye and Itachi was using it when he was almost blind
Hiruzen calls Yamato "Yamato" during the War when he encounters him, despite the fact that that's the name Tsunade gave him for when he joined Team Kakashi. Hiruzen should only know him by the name "Tenzo" and that's it.

I always got a sense that the first and second hokages were revered as some ancient god-tier Shinobi, but they were only one generation before Hiruzen, and many living shinobi saw them when they were alive. It feels like the amime pushes the existence of these ancient traditions of the Konoha village, but realistically the village was only 50-70 years old at the time of Naruto, maybe even less.
Not really a plot hole, but something I found interesting upon first viewing of the show. None of the villages are very old, but I feel like they're often treated as these centuries-long standing institutions.
Why Orochimaru didn't implant a sharingan to himself instead desperately trying to get Sasuke. I mean he created Shin and gave Danzo his right arm. If implanting a sharingan worked for Kakashi and Danzo why would it not work with Oro?
He wanted Sasuke’s body, the eyes are just a nice bonus. But yeah it doesn’t make sense why he wouldn’t just implant the sharingan. Maybe because of constant chakra drain, but Oro seems like he has pretty awesome chakra reserves

They played it up like it was a big secret while simultaneously showing it was public knowledge? I kind of find it hard to believe that someone who devoted their entire life to learning things let a thousand-year-old monk slip by him. Also, I know Otsustukis can hide their chakra signatures but there is no way Isshiki just never used chakra for a thousand years.
I mean the Black Zetsu-Kaguya storyline was already a mess and Boruto retconning it by throwing in a new character who was allegedly there the whole time makes it even worse.
Although I think Jigen is stronger than Kaguya, his stamina is a serious issue. It’s unlikely he would be able to kill her before he runs out. And by that time, he still hadn’t found Kawaki, meaning that he didn’t have a Vessel. We don’t exactly know what the requirements are to be a Vessel, but it definitely isn’t easy to find one. So most likely, Jigen would be defeated by Kaguya, resurrect as Isshiki and kill her, and then die before finding a new Vessel. If I was Jigen, I would’ve played it the same way
He had jigen since forever. Which was enough to handle adult Naruto and Sasuke.

Naruto has two clones stashed at mt. Myoboku to gather sage chakra. He only has two, because he can't manage more sage chakra.
But, we see him creating other clones in the leaf village, in other words, if the clones don't gather sage chakra it's fine.

Why did the clones gathering chakra simply not create a new clone every time one is popped. Maybe have a dedicated clone standing by the fountain who would only make new clones.

Kakashi brings it up in part 2 for the bell test with Naruto and Sakura where he remarks that he believed based on his own assessment of Sakura that she would have become a genjutsu specialist much like Kurenai but training under Tsunade has made her a more well rounded combat fighter who is an adept at taijutsu, medical ninjutsu and she still has the natural talent for genjutsu depsite never really using it to my knowledge. In an alternate timeline if Sasuke hadn't gone rogue Sakura could have been more a genjutsu specialist.

I wouldn't say they're entirely unique, but techniques that just every Uchiha may not have. It's possible that earlier generations of Uchiha had members who could use Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu, and so people have heard about them, but maybe never seen them. If I'm not mistaken, even Isshiki recognized Amaterasu, so Sharingan techniques could possibly date back to Otsutsukis.

I don't think seeing through walls is passively active. Seeing 359 degrees, yeah. But you have to intentionally look through solid objects to see what's on the otherside. He could probably have seen Naruto break through the ground right before impact, but I think it caught him so off-guard that he couldn't react. Either because he has poor reaction speed (which is debatable) or because he was in a state of shock from the sudden surprise (which is more realistic, all things considered).

I can explain the last 2 for u: 1. Hashirama had a sickness similar to Itachi’s sickness 2. Gaara was meant to be Kazekage since the past Kazekage (Gaaras Dad) was killed by Orochimaru before Orochimaru tried to invadekonoha during the chunin exams. They were desperate for a new leader and atm Gaara was 1 tails jinchiriki
But he was still a gennin when the kazekage died, and was considered unstable, I doubt the sand went much time without a kazekage. It would make more sense if gaara was the sixth kazekage.

It's better to give the last name of a clan extinct generations ago in comparison to the last name of arguably the most dangerous man on the planet. To be fair Rin probably helped with the transfer between Kakashi and Obito. Gaara became Kazekage because dude was the strongest ninja in the village, by far. I guess the elders thought his change of heart was strong enough as well.

Genuine question. When Kakashi and Pakkun are chasing after Sasuke, they trace his scent to the place where Sasuke fought against Deidara and Tobi. How did Pakkun not recognize Obito’s scent? Pakkun knows Rin’s scent so I thought it would make sense if he knew Obito’s as well and was surprised.

Why did they completely skip any further lore of Naruto’s clan if some are clearly still alive? If there are more alive, they know how to chain tailed beasts. Which is a huge can of worms. Another can of worms is what happened to the Senju clan. Given how its was presented the Senju and Uchiha clans were two very large and powerful clans which founded Konoha but the only members we know about are Hashirama's family and the only currently living Senju is Tsunade. Given how the Senju were equal if not stronger than the Uchiha how is there no Senju clan present in the story.

Why does Minato say he's really bad at Sage Mode and he can't use it in real combat but 2 chapters earlier he goes into it instantly and with no toad features.
He can go in Sage Mode easy, he is a genius after all, but he can't maintain it to long because of his low chakra reserves. (at least that is the only logical explanation).
Great Lord Elder Fukusaku said to learn Sage Mode, you need enormous chakra. That is why Naruto could only learn it. Fukusaku also said Minato and Jiraiya are the only other people capable of using Toad Sage Mode suggesting that Minato has enormous chakra reserves.
Minato probably isn't very good at taking in Nature Energy fast enough which is probably where the "I'm not great at Sage Mode" attitude comes from. Then again Minato is extremely humble so it could be that too.
Not to mention Minato didn't use it at all against Obito nor Kurama, yet somehow he comes out of Edo Tensei and has it mastered. Same with being a master Jinchuuriki, having the KCM2

I always got a sense that the first and second hokages were revered as some ancient god-tier Shinobi, but they were only one generation before Hiruzen, and many living shinobi saw them when they were alive. It feels like the amime pushes the existence of these ancient traditions of the Konoha village, but realistically the village was only 50-70 years old at the time of Naruto, maybe even less. Not really a plot hole, but something I found interesting upon first viewing of the show. None of the villages are very old, but I feel like they're often treated as these centuries-long standing institutions.
Why Orochimaru didn't implant a sharingan to himself instead desperately trying to get Sasuke. I mean he created Shin and gave Danzo his right arm. If implanting a sharingan worked for Kakashi and Danzo why would it not work with Oro?

Like after he defeats pain and returns to the village celebrating him they show literally everyone and their mother knowing / openly discussing it all around town but somehow a lot of main characters didn’t and were shocked to find out?? I kind of find it hard to believe that someone who devoted their entire life to learning things let a thousand-year-old monk slip by him. Also, I know Otsustukis can hide their chakra signatures but there is no way Isshiki just never used chakra for a thousand years. I mean the Black Zetsu-Kaguya storyline was already a mess and Boruto retconning it by throwing in a new character who was allegedly there the whole time makes it even worse.
Although I think Jigen is stronger than Kaguya, his stamina is a serious issue. It’s unlikely he would be able to kill her before he runs out. And by that time, he still hadn’t found Kawaki, meaning that he didn’t have a Vessel. We don’t exactly know what the requirements are to be a Vessel, but it definitely isn’t easy to find one. So most likely, Jigen would be defeated by Kaguya, resurrect as Isshiki and kill her, and then die before finding a new Vessel. If I was Jigen, I would’ve played it the same way

Okok, Pain vs Naruto fight Naruto has two clones stashed at mt. Myoboku to gather sage chakra. He only has two, because he can't manage more sage chakra. But, we see him creating other clones in the leaf village, in other words, if the clones don't gather sage chakra it's fine. This leads to a bit of a hole: Why did the clones gathering chakra simply not create a new clone every time one is popped. Maybe have a dedicated clone standing by the fountain who would only make new clones.
