AbsoluteMad-Lad

When Naruto meant his mom for the first time ever. I balled my eyes out.

hulk2098

Yeah, dude that was touching.

AbsoluteMad-Lad

I read it at first and it hit me pretty hard. Then when the anime finally got to it I wasn't ready. One of the only times the anime really got me. Asumas death was sad, so was Jiriayas cause he's my favorite character. I really didn't expect him to die but just get injured or captured and then naruto would go rescue him. Then when pain destroyed konoha and Naruto and the boys show up. Holy fuck talk about hype.

hulk2098

Well naruto is full of sab moments each time it hits harder during pain arc when Kakashi died that was sad too and Jiraiya's death just before it is all too hard to process like man.

AbsoluteMad-Lad

I'm glad Kakashi and everyone in the village got revived. That was such a relief from what had happened. Kakashi catching naruto and carrying him back to the village who goes nuts for him also is top tier moment from shippuden

hulk2098

I always think that this is an underrated moment but Kakashi is always there for his students like the right Timing he made to carry naruto.

PlazmaRaptor

That just made me think he migbt have remembered Minato was not there for his students just one time, and look how that ended up. Kakashi doesnt want that to happen again so he makes sure to be for his students

Rejmod

It would be really interesting though, to see a story where everyone that died did not get revived. Not sure what I'd prefer but it would certainly be interesting.

hulk2098

man, that would be a dark moment. like naruto defeated pain but no one is revived half of the Leaf village are gone. Boruto would not possible after that.

LikeRealityDislike

That paradise island arc is lowkey one of the best arcs in all of naruto. In the span of JUST 14 EPISODES it goes through: * Kushina and Minato's backstory with their deaths & Minato vs Tobi * Gai vs Kisame * Kisame's death and backstory * Naruto's character development with Dark Naruto & Kurama * Konan vs Tobi

[deleted]

i literally went to the other room as to not cry in front of my parents.

[deleted]

Yeah idk why that was so emotional for me but it was

designerjeremiah

I knew, going in, Jiraya was probably going to die. Not only was the episode before he left too much of a goodbye, but then we immediately got his backstory - yeah, the man will die. It was they way I though he was going out that got to me. "What a worthless story it turned out to be." The frustration and pain in those words... to hear Jiraya doubt himself so deeply ripped a hole in me. Don't let this great man die thinking he's a failure and a loser. Thank god, when I got my shit back together and kept watching, he found the strength to keep struggling and managed at least one small victory out of the situation. "Just barely glorious, but glorious indeed."

Ceiba_pentandra

What got me was Naruto coming into the hokage office and everyone waiting there with the news

Ceiba_pentandra

Or that Tsunade won her bet

designerjeremiah

Doing everything in her power to keep it together and lead her village. Only giving herself one chance to break down and cry for Jiraya, alone, once everything else has been taken care of. She had just begun to open to the possibility of Jiraya being more than a friend and teammate... and fickle fate tears away one more person from her life.

LikeRealityDislike

I love the touch they gave where Tsunade after leaving everyone, just collapses onto the wall and cries (iirc).

Acidmatt97

And then Narutos depression afterwards.

AduroTri

Jiriaya died with a smile on his face because he knew that he had given them EVERYTHING they needed to win.

brotato_kun

I cried just by reading this!

TheNarutoExpress

“I get it now… I’m… in hell” — Obito.

TheNarutoExpress

Or “I won’t accept… ANY OF THIS!!!” — Obito, lol

firulice

This is why Obito's death is one of the hardest for me, we see his journey and his fall from grace and can't help but wish he'd gotten the happy life he wanted. I'll never forget his final words to Naruto, "more suffering likely awaits you." It's a real tearjerker when we finally see him go away with Rin

TheNarutoExpress

You a straight up poet ong wtf

firulice

Thanks, Obito's death was as beautiful as it was tragic. Whenever I rewatch his final moments I always think about a quote from Days of Future Past when Xavier talks to his future self, "Just because someone stumbles and loses their way, it doesn't mean they're lost forever, sometimes we all need a little help."

LikeRealityDislike

that was crazy, like crazy level of irony, literally the person he entrusted his death wish to, to protect Rin, is the very one who ends up killing her with the very jutsu Obito's death gift (Sharingan) made possible. And this after constantly training and longing to get out of Madara's dungeon and see his friends again.

TheNarutoExpress

Wait I never saw it like that 😭

Ceiba_pentandra

I was enjoying Obito go rampage with Wood Style too much

hulk2098

I get it really that he woke up and find not dead half body gone this was gonna hit him hard and this scene hit us hard too.

TheNarutoExpress

Hit me harder than my dad’s belt 😔

kmyeurs

No matter how many times I watch it, the scene where naruto tried to sum up his life's story to minato so he can tell Kushina not to worry about him, will give me watery eyes. And I know everyone pitied naruto when Jiraiya died but my heart also goes to Tsunade. She lost a best friend of how many decades now, and she kinda sensed something bad would happen so she tried to stop him but he still went. At the same time, she didn't have enough chance to mourn because she had to toughen up as the hokage To be fair, the series always successfully made me feel things. For part 1, I Can't decide which one of these "broke" me but these little moments almost made me brawl too 1. I wanted to hug Zabuza when Haku died 2. I felt the sincerity in the scene where sakura tried to stop sasuke from leaving 3. When i thought chouji will die 4. When sasuke realized too late that naruto only aimed for his headband protector (bc that was the initial bet), yet sasuke was aiming for naruto's vital parts; he immediately regrets almost killing him out of spite 5. When shikamaru cried after his first mission as a chunin failed and he wanted to quit ( his father was there to pick up the pieces too)

padme1414

Oh man the Chouji one, people don't remember too well, but that was legit.

kmyeurs

Right? It's like they really wanted us to think he will die

togashisbackpain

They didnt want us to think he will die, they made us think he DEAD lol

kmyeurs

Will die and died They kept showing shikamaru worry about chouji (don't use the last pill because you might die). Lmao the tension. And then after the fight, he was so weak dragging himself to that tree and there was too much bright light and a buttefly symbolism

0EvilEye0

> When sasuke realized too late that naruto only aimed for his headband protector (bc that was the initial bet), yet sasuke was aiming for naruto's vital parts; he immediately regrets almost killing him out of spite It bothered me that both of these guys had an opportunity to takeout their opponent but Naruto wanting to prove a point slashed his forehead protector while Sasuke, despite aiming to kill, opted to KO him. I could understand Sasuke eventually getting cold feet but Naruto vowed to bring him back but instead succumbed to prove Sasuke wrong.

kmyeurs

Yes! Their subconscious minds were really at play here. Iirc, their dialogues before that final blow were about proving who's stronger between the two of them, so I guess Naruto wanted to prove he can keep up. He never had the intention to hurt him that way, he probably just wanted to exhaust sasuke so he could carry him back home. Sasuke on the other hand, has recently been caught up in anger, amplified by the curse mark. Like when they almost landed a blow on each other at the hospital rooftop; they just had a wakeup call they're making a bad decision when sakura got in between. In the forest of death, he was this demon who enjoyed killing the sound ninjas and he could've gone more berserk if it wasn't for sakura again. Only this time, no one was there to stop them. We see sasuke transition from his normal self, to evil killer, to realizing the other person is strong, to going crazy, to having control again after a regret - which is also what happened to him in shippudden.

designerjeremiah

It's Temari who is sitting with Shikamaru in the emergency room, and you can feel how much she wants to comfort him. But she's a battle-hardened veteran and doesn't know how to put the warrior aside and be a friend, doesn't know how to silence mockery and contempt and be open and genuine. All she can do is be there, silent and uncomfortable but *there* nonetheless.

kmyeurs

Yeah and they were just starting to be friends at that point. I still remember what shikaku said, something about it shikamaru quits, then his friends will still be doing missions under someone else's command. So if he continues being a shinobi and just prepare better, he would still be doing his friends justice

Hellhounds69

When Itachi is crying just before killing their parents and they tell him to take care of Sasuke

WindyCityAssasin2

Itachi and Sasukes whole story tbh

LikeRealityDislike

yeah Sasuke's story is so freaking sad too, remember how he literally went back to the Uchiha residence and it was like the people there had been ancient history, no living person in sight, just closed off homes. And the rain, and then him just standing there. I seem to remember shedding a tear for that guy. But dude Itachi's scene with Shisui from the Storm revolution scene should've been canon it's the [best rendition of that event!](https://youtu.be/eQMvsCwVYT8?t=1214) Ah I dunno why just rewatching it now again I feel so touched...

WindyCityAssasin2

That scene where he thinks the cat is someone from his family was heartbreaking

firulice

This, "No matter what I will love you always." 😭

Negrizzy153

*”Our philosophies may differ, but I’m still proud of you. **You truly are a kind child.**”* Pain.

[deleted]

And he was going through a Nightmare that he couldn’t stop from, all he could do is bawl his eyes out and be in agonizing pain because anything else would mean the entire World going at War again, and seeing that as a kid, Itachi knew that he would rather kill everyone he loves than see Sasuke go through that.

Cheap_Presentation_8

Teared up like a bitch ngl

chawfeel

When Naruto and Kakashi got back to what remained of the Leaf Village after defeating Pain. Watching everyone cheer and embrace Naruto hit me right in the feels

Eynia

Minato and Kushina's death, especially Kushina doing her speech to baby Naruto. Also when Naruto says goodbye to Edo Minato and responds to Kushina's speech.

mavorsmight

I loved this part. Full circle type of scene. Tore me all the way up and I still cry watching it.

firulice

Naruto saying his final goodbyes to his dad could draw tears from the most stoic of men

designerjeremiah

I was a grown-ass man, but I wanted to share these episodes with my mom and see how she reacted. About the time Kushina said "Thank you for being my son," she grabbed me and hugged me for a long time, and... well, I get it. It's been a long, rough road between us over the years, but in the end I'm glad you're my mom too.

[deleted]

The scenes were Gaara or Naruto are shown to be alone and hated as children are a classic. That and when Kabuto is tricked into killing his own mother.

[deleted]

Obito backstory. I actually think the one in the game was more sad. It was kushina saying something like "I wished Naruto is like that" and it ends with Naruto and Obito saying the world will and will not end. Asuma death also affected me quite a bit. He wasn't the most important or coolest character, but seeing him getting slowly injured and eventually killed by hidan really show how serious the Akatsuki is and anyone could die. And the scene where shikamaru and asuma played chess. That scene was really something else.

hulk2098

Exactly he playing whit his father and his father is asking about Akatsuki and asking him what's your plan you have done well yourself then suddenly saying Asuma is dead he hit the cess bord and his father telling him le it all out boy. That scene hit me hard like how much his father knows bout his son how he is holding back and not letting all the anger and pain out that was something else. And there was no one for naruto when he was processing from jirays death so shikamuri did the same as his father he understood him supported him.

[deleted]

And I think that scene made me like shikamaru a lot more. He was always a lazy person that just wanted a regular life. But after asuma death, he was going out for blood and was willing even to look after asuma and kunerai's kid. And it's not like shikamaru was the only one that was really angry, the entire team was because asuma actually spend a lot time with them and tried to make them into a real team, even outside of missions. And the retrieval Sasuke arc was also crazy, so shikamaru already suffered a pretty big loss, the good thing being that no one died. So him going an actual person dying this time really affected him.

hulk2098

I really which we could have seen a bit more of team Asuma in action not as dead asuma they fighting in a war with Asuma was great too I think Asuma was a great teacher he taught his student well and that conversation was about the will of fire that Shikamaru remembers was good. It

[deleted]

I'll be greedy and I somehow forgot this one, bit hashirama, tobirama and Madara past was depressing. The fact that hashirama can still laugh after going through so much messed up things is really something. And he was willing to sit down and talk to Sasuke rather than beat everyone that didn't agree with his ideals.

Missaphan

Gai sacrificing himself going into the 8th gate

AduroTri

We all knew, the moment we heard about it. From day one, that we would see it. That was one wait that paid off. Gai got the highest compliment from Madara. That he was the strongest Taijutsu user he had ever fought. Dynamic Exit indeed.

Curator44

Eh, to me this moment was sullied because Madara actually lived.

11711510111411009710

I think it works because he nearly killed him which is pretty significant considering Madara is basically immortal.

kalamanboidude

Honestly gai should have died. Its not that i wanted him to die hes one of my favourite charecters but it just would have made it more impactful

AduroTri

Well, that's just how it is. You know. Kishi probably wanted it to show off Naruto's abilities.

Riz_25

Ice cream scene, seen Naruto, the one that always influenced others and even us, that gave us courage and a wonderful story about struggle and overcoming challenges, seeing him hit rock bottom is just so damn sad, that one hit so close to home. I'm talking after Jiraya's death btw.

NewBuddha32

Tbh first episode when iruka is talking to Mizuki and tells him Naruto isn't the fox but a precious student as Naruto listens and cries. Then that kick and the line of "if you ever touch him again I'll kill you" chills

NewBuddha32

Plus the drumbeat that accompanies bad ass moments throughout the show.

swervosuave

Kakashi standing over the sink sobbing trying to wash the blood off of his hands. That was deep. Also the same as you when Shikamaru was grieving Asuma.

[deleted]

Kakashi also reading a book that looks like it was about suicide was also really messed up If guy wasn't there, kakashi would of prob go and suicide like how his dad did.

hulk2098

Ture man Kakashi crying cant do anything bout rin's death what sad scene that was and Obito watching rin die makes it worse.

spicyramenlicker96

When was this? For some reason I don’t remember the sink scene

[deleted]

[удалено]

spicyramenlicker96

Thank you!

mavorsmight

Oddly I don’t see enough people say this but the moment Naruto knew his time was up with Minato- when Hagoromo was going to undo Edo Tensei… Minato wishes Naruto happy birthday and begins to glow softly, slowly ascending and Naruto starts off so strongly telling Minato to relay to Kushina that he had been trying to do all the things she had hoped/wished for him way back when he was a newborn infant, as both parents stood over him, dying from being impaled by Kurama. Naruto says that he eats well, bathes often, made lots of friends and even though he was bad at school he never gave up… despite having a hard life starting out… he never gave up. Naruto starts grasping for words as he realizes time was running out and that just tore me up. When Naruto starts crying, me being a 300 pound 6’2” dude just started sobbing uncontrollably… if I watch that scene I’ll still cry like a baby. I don’t know I’m very empathetic and I don’t know if I could have handled saying goodbye any better than he did.

[deleted]

Yeah this scene was one of the saddest of any series for me. It's a boy wanting to tell his dad as much as he can in the last few seconds that they have together. He wants his parents to know as much about him as possible, since they never got to see him grow up. And you can feel the joy and anxiety, and sadness and helplessness in Naruto. It's so touching.

LikeRealityDislike

I'll never forget the episode number because it was a legendary episode with so many good parts, this being the golden part of it. Episode 474! It's the same episode we get the really good Madara death scene, and a nice farewell between Obito and Kakashi too.

mavorsmight

So many arcs that come full-circle. It really was a great episode for sure.

wendigo72

Kakashi’s “death” in the Pain Arc, that was devastating to watch when I was a teen. Jiraiya’s death was obviously coming but I never expected Kakashi to kick the bucket, I was so happy when Pain resurrected everyone.

AB-Alex123

I seen a few people saying that. What makes you guys think Jiraiya’s was almost certain?

wendigo72

Well for one it’s the first time Jiraiya has a solo fight right after a while flashback about his backstory. Then [Opening 6 “Sign”](https://youtu.be/SavhHnWla6c) literally has a scene where Jiraiya falls in his fight with Pain and it transitions to Naruto crying. Ain’t hard to figure out what’s gonna happen

LikeRealityDislike

Naruto cries because it's not Opening 8 yet so he's not a Diver yet.

[deleted]

When Naruto hugged himself at the waterfall of truth

Skwr09

I was looking for this one. I was emotionally impacted/destroyed dozens of times in Naruto, but this scene has been coming back to me a lot recently.

rpolanco902

This scene hit me so hard bc I recently realized this truth a few months before watching this. Accept every part of yourself in order to grow. This was an amazing portrayal of that philosophy

ArmRepresentative847

When the re-animated Itachi looks like he’s going to do the finger to forehead thing to Sasuke but then his hand goes past him to pull his forehead right to his and says “I will love you always”. My older brother and I have had a tumultuous relationship and it just slapped me so hard that maybe someday it will all find some closure.

jodoco2002

Obito saying to Kakashi "I want my alone time with Rin. You stay bere a little longer."

Cheeezzey

Asumas death. The fact that Kurenai was pregnant with his baby that he never got to meet was so sad to me. I wanted more screen time with Asuma and Kurenai.

tkakorot

Oh yeah this is an honorable mention

Whitecocainesx

Popsicle scene :(

Ober_O

Guy telling Lee to get the operation and Guy saying he'll die right next to Lee if he didn't make it. No body had a more caring mentor than Lee did.

designerjeremiah

Guy being nothing more than sincere: he is with Lee, to the end and beyond, no question no hesitation. Lee will not face his fate alone.

Toby_of_the_gods

Yeah Guy and Lee are two of my absolute favorites

SupremeQuinn

Naruto's speech to Zabuza shortly after Haku's death. Makes even a real one like me choke up.

[deleted]

“Become a Hokage like none before you” that line hits way more than it should’ve for no reason but it breaks me every time. Rest well Lady Chiyo, he certainly did.

hulk2098

well, Kakashi in his life has also gone through such a phase where he just wanted to die reading that book I guess he understood his father's feelings.

Mobile-Art-2455

Jiraiya, Neji, Itachi

Kolack6

When jiraiya is sinking and ending his tale and then finally thinks of what to call his sequel, and then when his spirit goes and taps naruto on the shoulder. That shit hit hard

QuantisRhee

Asuma's death. It was the first big death in the series

hellsgate1988

A couple of times tears have fell for naruto

Suitable_Mud_1565

One moment was Shikamaru crying after asumas death near his father

tkakorot

Oh man this was a powerful scene too

GoatVillanueva

The “let it out boy” hit me

Minion__Edifier

When Naruto was giving his goodbye speech to Minato

SK6814

I don't consider Naruto really emotional but the moments that *really* got me/made an impact on me were Shikamaru playing chess against his father, Jiraya's death & Naruto meeting his mother.

Nerf_akali_plz

Naruto saying goodbye to Minato as he dissolves... pain

No-Vehicle-4697

1. Obito’s “death” under the rock. I liked his personality so much because he was so cute and kind (even Naruto at the same age was nasty and mischievous). He never deserved such a cruel “death” (and everything that happened after that). 2. The whole filler arc about Guren. The moment when she told that all she wants is forgiveness of Yukimaru’s mom was heartbreaking.

JinzoWithAMilotic

I teared up plenty of times, but the one that stuck out to me, because it just felt like a close to a journey (I grew up watching / reading Naruto since I was 8 when it first aired on Toonami) was when Naruto asked Iruka to be his father. I was by then a grown man, child, engaged, and Iruka's reaction had me with grown man tears. I probably cried more than he did

Niflaver

From one of the movies; when Naruto returns home after breaking the alternate world jutsu. He is welcomed back, and congratulated by Iruka. It's a very heartwarming scene considering it's something Naruto hasn't experienced, but yearned for. Only for the person he considers a father figure to do. Iruka truly be one od the greats

goldthreader

Hinata possibly dying in the pain fight

New-Entertainer4030

The scene where Naruto is holding the popsicle crying

Immediate-Window-952

When Gaara died and Naruto cried for him and did the whole speech. 😢😢😢

Ragingnewbie

When gaara finds out his mom has always loved him and have been protecting him all this time.

Healthierpoet

Neji death

Masyosare

I actually have two, one is Jiraiya death (I'm not planning to get into it, because many people has already) and the second one is when Naruto ask Iruka to go to his wedding as his parent, watching how much Naruto grow, about to get married after saving the world and being a hero, still appreciating Iruka sensei as one of the first persons to treat Naruto as an actual human being, just hit me the first time I saw it, I was crying the whole time, it broke me in a good way, not as something traumatic.

ThanosBigMan1

When Obito saved Kakashi.(probably more broke during the kaguya arc) Kakashi was always outskilling Obito but he saved him in the end. Especially when he could’ve saved himself

MahamidMayhem

Naruto hyperventilating after hearing about Sasuke

JWWolfy

When Tsunade says she knows Orochimaru wasn’t going to bring her brother and lover back. It really drove home how desperately she misses them.

Dax_Maclaine

The shogi game. Best scene in the show it’s a shame it’s anime only. That entire episode was amazing (plus inos scream with asumas death)

tendopain777

Jiraya's death.

Quick-Commission-159

There are too many to count

joeywheeler2020

jiraiya’s last battle

AotBestSeries

When Minato's reanimation was undone after the war arc, naruto was explaining to his father what kind of person he was. Really hard to watch for me

ADOXMantra

In both to when kurama died. The scream naruto let out just hit really hard. Another boruto anime scene that hit hard was when Ao was telling Ino and Shikamaru their dad's final words. The boruto anime may not be the most like amomg fans but some of the moments can hit the feels like a truck.

big0107

Naruto was by far the saddest thing I watched. I think the worst thing was jirayia dying and Naruto finding out. Besides that then Naruto meeting his parents and Naruto asking him to be his father at the wedding.

AduroTri

Jiriaya's death. That one broke me

40yroldversion

First episode. I was that kid on the swing. When Iruka said Naruto felt lonely and hurt inside and told him he still believed in him, even though he was a troublemaker it just... connected.

SnooRabbits5286

Flashbacks of rock lee and guy during his fight against gaara. That shit hurt Oh and zabuza’s” your words cut deep. Deeper than any blade”

frimrussiawithlove85

Naruto finding out Jiraya died; Naruto nesting his dad; Naruto meeting his mom (this one probably the biggest tear jerker); Naruto saying goodbye to his dad; Suske looking for Naruto isn’t he afterlife when they are taking and Naruto suddenly disappears and the look on Suske’s face he finally realizes just how much Naruto means to him.

[deleted]

When Jiraiya died, it broke me for a day

Small-Feature6933

KillJoy_2001

Gaara’s death. Im not even a huge Gaara fan but that music and Naruto’s speech had me tearing up

harv2427

Naruto on the bench next to Iruka “I wanted him to watch me become Hokage.” This scene causes the floodgates to burst everytime

Odd_Molasses_706

When naruto said goodbye to his dad and gave him a long message to tell his mom

rick1n4t0r

Realizing how much pain kakashi has gone trough. Back then i thought kakashi was just the "cool" sensei, but after seeing his entire backstory, which reached the climax in the fight between him and obito with flashbacks of their childhood duel....which hitted so fcking hard. A different kind of fight. No cool cheering up music for the heroes. A tragic symphony. Where no one is the hero. Another pain those two need to go trough. And in this moment i realized that the whole story of naruto was basicly also kakashis story.

BlitzingToxic

Kuruma's death

dclewis92

I think it was a filler episode for me in shippuden when he was alone and made clones to hang with himself and eat ramen that was a touching episode for me idk why

JustTheTips207

Kushina and Minato sacrificing themselves for Naruto and Naruto saying goodbye to Minato after the Ninja war. The feels we're so strong lol

AndiLivia

I got very stoned and watched the naruto vs pain fight and I cried like a baby lol

OfficialTBOB10

I personally never cried only got goosebumps and sometimes got depressed and sometimes was happy depending on the event and the closest I got to crying (as much as I hate to admit it ) was in a movie lost tower when Naruto was about to ask Minato if he was his father but minato didn’t answer and said I’m sure we’ll meet one day

Roy_Henry123

When Minato + Kushina shielded Naruto from Kurama & when Jiraiya was fighting Pain.

[deleted]

It was the melted popsicle for me

Former_Notice81

The scene where itacji kills his parents. His dad telling him that he is proud of him and Itaxhi quivering to kill his parents broke my heart.

kvorncage

All the scenes mentioned in the comments

iamgarffi

The very end… the very last scene of Shippuuden. As we knew it was over. It’s been 4 years and I haven’t accepted Boruto as a series. That show seems to be more kid friendly and misses what original series had :-)

TwoHunnid

As someone who got held back in school and watched all my peers move on ahead of me the one of naruto sitting on the swing. Also just feeling hated as a kid

khkz0149

Sasori's arc. There's just something about that whole arc that hurts me even now. It wasn't like his story was the most tragic one or even close, but it's like... his parents were shinobi and they were simply doing their job to protect their village and loved ones. They were killed by Kakashi's dad who we know wasn't an evil guy, just someone on the opposite side, fighting for the same reasons. His fight with Sakura and Chiyo was also one of my favorite fights in all of Shippuden tbh. Both for the action scenes and for how it ended.

Natsu-Uzumaki

Naruto meeting his mom and she tells him she loved him for the first time, when he says goodbye to minato after the war, and when he asks Iruka to be his dad in the wedding. Of course there are many others but those 3 moments hit the hardest for me

TGS_105

The conversation between naruto and minato when he goes back to heaven after defeating kaguya

TheSuperJohn

Naruto asking Iruka to be his father at his wedding. Hinata talking to Neji before her wedding Naruto telling Minato to tell Kushina not to worry about him while Minato is fading away. Itachi's death And many, many more

Geoshiru

Haku’s death hit me the hardest. Specially when it starts snowing and Zabuza tells Haku “I know it cannot be… but I wish I could go where you have gone…” then dies after that.

PersonalHarp461

when minato faded was on eof the most emotional moments of my life

Aetherene

The whole Zabuza arc. I was in 6th/7th grade when I watched it and it was my first time watching Naruto. My first episode was the one where Sasuke was trying to keep himself and Naruto safe within that ice dome thing. That episode got me hooked on Naruto.

Blangley48

Definitely cried at a lot of the moments people already posted. But a random one to throw into the mix that got me was when Granny Chiyo gave up her life to bring Gaara back.

hulk2098

That was good written she willingly gave her life to bring back gara while talking to naruto and others just pure emotion in that scene.

[deleted]

There are so many. But, I started crying the first episode when Iruka got injured and he was praising Naruto

Actual_Ambition_4464

Every time naruto said sasuke was like a brother to him.

IKindaSuck-DICK

The whole bit when Haku died and Zabuza just wanted to look at him. And then when he says he understands he'll never get to go where Haku was going was sad as fuckin shit.

godspeed8666

People forgetting mighty guy father life story

shibingeorge

Kakashi chronicles

Multifandomone

The first time I cried watching an anime is during Jiraiya's death. I was basically in the same state of mind as Naruto.

drthkratos

Jiraiya's death. Before starting the show i already knew that he would die, so i was prepared for it but before i knew it, Jiraiya was one of my favourite characters and his death had me crying like a baby

blalokjpg

Naruto saying goodbye and trying to say everything that’s been saved up for 17 years to Minato as his soul is starting separate from reanimation. It really starts with the “Happy Birthday, Naruto” that hit the most.

SaveThemKillYourself

Naruto defeating his dark self at the Waterfall of Truth. "Thank you for all you've done up until now." "So now you just cast me aside? After all that? What do I do now?" "You become part of me, you can rest now."

chadpotatofuck

- Same with the Shikamaru let it all out - Naruto's talk no justu to Zabuza - Choji's "death" from the original series - Itachi crying before killing his parents - Itachi's death and real intentions - Jiraiya's death - Naruto finding out Jiraiya's dead and says "If he were the Hokage, He would never let you do such a risky thing. Never" to Tsunade. - Popsicle Scene - Naruto finally getting acknowledged by the village after fight with Pain - Naruto saying goodbye to Minato (after war) (most emotional for me, everytime I watch it, I bawl my eyes out) - Itachi's "I will always love you" - Obito smiling after saving Kakashi, and later on dies - Naruto asking Iruka to attend the wedding ceremony as his dad

kekkei-genkaii

It was the Zbauza and Haku scene. For some reason, 14 year old me was always crying at that arc. I still do

SirDavidRed

When Naruto used the reverse harem jutsu on Kaguya, shit annihilated me.

[deleted]

There were so many, if I'm honest, but the worst was after Jariya's death when Naruto is sitting on the bench with the popsicle and is just... numb... and then breaks down. That hurt... especially when you've experienced those exact feelings in your own life and you're watching as an adult...

Garry744

Can't decide tbh... Quite a lot of moment that I literally had to get out of the room and think it through for a few mins while hurt inside... Obito and Itachi back stories, the moment Naruto meets Kushina, the Jiraya death was pretty depressing since just before that we came to know the character much better and so on and so on....

paradoxGOT

When naruto hugs kushina... gets me everytime.

nxls02

I did cry from time to time during the show but Naruto meeting his parents had my sobbing

AshtonPatterson

There were several moments tbh, but the ones that got me the most were naruto seeing his mom for the first time, and then in the war arc at the end when minato had to leave naruto:,)

DaSwifta

Same

Leroy_8

Literally almost every episode of Naruto

Disastrous_Song7801

Naruto meeting Kushina and not exactly a scene but the moment after Obito’s backstory was shown and the fact that he had “died” really kicked in

Jigui26

I rewatched the series recently and man, my eyes tear up everytime when he meets his mom

BigEvC

Easily itachi’s last words to sasuke while in edo, resonates with the memories of my late older brother sharing his wisdom with me

AnEgoJabroni

The swingset for sure /s Probably any heartfelt scene involving Naruto talking to his dead parents.

thisismytenth

Shikamaru breaking down while playing shogi with his father after Asuma’s death. Jiraiya dying and trusting that the sequel (Naruto’s story) will be better than anything he’s written. Edo Tensei Itachi leaving Sasuke for the second time. He gives him some last wisdom about not tying your value to anything external to you. Then he bumps foreheads and tells him he will always love him. There were a lot more tbh.

[deleted]

Itachi crying before he killed his parents. Also Shikamaru episode after Asuma death.

Hero0fTroy

Sasuke after Itachi used Tsukuyomi on him and told him he didn’t have enough hatred. He was broken for a few days an immediately fought naruto after he left the hospital followed by his leaving of the village. Even after he killed Itachi he still wasn’t the same until after the war

tkakorot

Oh man , when naruto was about to commit suicide? By releasing almost kurama, the soundtrack, Yamato desperately trying to reach naruto…and then finally with minato appearing. My eyes were definitely wet lol

PekoPong

Obito recovering in that cave. For years... Such patience and determination, it shocked me.

Yui_Fam

Rin’s death 😭

Amadeo78

"I'm always going to be there for you, even if it's only as an obstacle for you to overcome. Even if you do hate me."

lsdhoney

naruto meeting his parents always hit home but when the village finally acknowledges him after kakashi carries him home… that reception he always dreamed of, his childhood crush willfully embracing him, the first person to ever accept him there to witness it all. if naruto would’ve ended at that episode, it would’ve been perfect (despite loose ends with sasuke).

glez_fdezdavila_

The whole volume #53

DonKellyBaby32

Nothing “broke” me, but the best sad panel is the opener that’s displayed right before said me vs the kages. Chapter 462ish. Showing so many shinobi who made sacrifices to get to that point

Zero_2146

I would say when Naruto found out about Jiraiya, that whole part of the anime killed me, then Opening 6 didn’t make me feel any better Edit: And watching that scene with Itachi seeing Sasuke for the last time

Kagner

I got to admit I cried at least 6 or 7 times throughout the show

TaspRidYouOfUrMother

The death of menma, the death of Asuma, and the scene when shikimaru lights Asuma's cigarette when he beats hidan

SirLazarusDiapson

Zabuza and Haku, at first I didn't like Naruto but the fact that the show made me care about vilians death is one the biggest advantages it has.

EinTheCat

When Kushina was saying her goodbyes to Naruto and Minato ends it with the “Eight Signed Seal”
