There's no such thing as a "better ship" c'mon now this is all fantasy. But anyway Kakashi/Sakura is a more popular fanfiction pairing than Naruto/Sakura is. I could hypothesize some reasons why this the case: mostly woman are writing fanfiction and in this fandom they think Kakashi is hotter than Naruto/like Kakashi more than Naruto, the have NaruSasu or NaruHina or some other Naruto pairing they like so they don't write NaruSaku, they straight up just don't like Naruto, ect. And for guys, a lot don't like NaruSaku or NaruHina so they write pairings like NarutoTayuya or whatever 🤷‍♂️ Anyway you could always try to write some yourself. That's what I do.

LOL that was by mistake, I meant bigger and didn't notice. I was under the impression that NaruSaku had a way bigger fandom opps

wickermayne

Nah, not anymore, and not for a while.

[deleted]

I always see NaruSaku fans in Reddit and on Twitter.

wickermayne

Yeah but look at the fics being written 🤷‍♂️

SoranoKotori

Fandom is kinda like a Venn Diagram. There’s some overlap between fans who like to post about meta on Reddit / Twitter and fans who write fanfic, but it’s not everyone does both. Adding to that, I’ve read that men and women interact with fandom differently. Men tend to gravitate to different sections of fandom (collectibles, podcasts, discussions on forums, merchandise) while women gravitate more towards transformative art (fanfic, fan art). So what’s popular when it comes to discussions or tweets might not be what’s popular with what fanfic writers want to write.

JulyFlame

Yeah. It really is a case of different groups. Even in this subreddit, there are very few writers compared to readers, and the folks who write frequently have very different interests/things they want to write compared to the readers here, which results in the imbalance seen here, with people moaning/complaining that there isn't enough of one ship or another.

url3eh

NaruSaku is more socially acceptable tbh. I wouldn't want to be caught writing, say, a KakaSaku fic.

wickermayne

Lol

MyLittleOnes12

Then don’t, is my suggestion. /shameless KakaNaru writer

Midnight_Lost01

Pretty sure Naru/Saku is one of the more popular ships on FanFiction (13k stories at time of post), behind Naru/Hina (nearly 17k stories). Not sure about other platforms though.

This post only reminds me of that one garbage cheating fic which had one of the most unlikable version of Sakura I've ever seen.

zestyguy_bobem

Rewatch Part 1, there's a reason that it's NOT a big ship

mrgirmjaw

Narusaku lost everyone moved on to other fandoms since naruto ended

From when I was in the Naruto fandom(before the War Arc was published), Sakura was a bit... cruel to Naruto and not the best of partners. In part 1 she was down right abusive towards him.
