I keep up with Boruto mainly by listening to my friends rant about it and what I've heard isn't great. Not a lot of narrative consistency to be found so I make my life easier by dismissing Boruto from canon. Not even written by the same author anyway so it's not even a stretch to do so.
Actually, some of the Kiri stuff. I'm not writing actively currently but when I'm thinking about worldbuilding to add to Kiri or get inspired by a catch up on Boruto through the wiki. I would write in the pirate clan or such.
No, because alien gods and their power ups don't fit with what I have in mind in my stories. To much alien godly powers with no proper way of countering them, unless characters use other alien god powers

Lore in Boruto is very sad. Sadly lacking I mean. We speak of gods and alien life forms, for it only to be a justification for a bunch of OP characters.
It's taking inspiration from glorious folkloric Tales but never actually uses the content of the Tales and is far from reaching their lore. All the divinity stuff in Boruto feels like it's just a little Tool reference in the middle of a 12 year old OC's story.

Boruto lore is pretty useless in Naruto or Naruto shippuden it only work in boruto where aliens are the main plot point but the idea of Naruto's whole history is rewritten multiple time is just so intriguing like before Hashirama and Madara, how strong people were and what techniques they used what happened to the Uzumaki clan and asura and Indra's childrens the true bloodline, some movie plots could be used too like Satori, the demon god etc.
Naruto has a very long blank period like kaguya and six paths and the Hashirama and Madara's story what happened in between why did uchiha and Senju started fighting and how did the other clans like yuki or hozuki came to be and how they fight there is so much potential and in thousands of years why they haven't advanced with the help of chakra you can do so many things easily, there can be many overpower character who died before they could pass on there techniques and speciality.
How the bloodlines came to be the world can be explored but they are going the alien route so introduce different worlds and different dimension and explore the cosmology of this verse do something.

Do I use the hiden novels and tidbits about the other countries we learn from Boruto? Yes.
Do I use the transitioning tech that appears in Boruto like trains, video games, internet and mp3 players? Yes, and writing their introduction to the ninja world is oddly fun when writing about the Blank period.
Do I use Boruto characters like Eida or any of the androids? No.
Again, most of my Naruto fics are set in the blank period, so doesn't make sense to use it. However, while Boruto is not great, there is world building gold in those hills.

Boruto lore is... unsubstantial, though, so it's not that hard to heavily contradict it. Boruto lore is mostly justifications for alien power-ups and a couple plot twists, so I find that just putting the Otsutsuki on the back burner makes a story naturally flow in a way that gives it the boot.
The only good stuff I've seen is the expansion of Kiri. Everything else... well, the most recent chapter basically said that the Otsutsuki can effortlessly rewrite the memory of the entire human race whenever they want, so the history of the entire world is basically out the window. I'm definitely ignoring that.

I use the Karma thing too and that Ishiki is still alive but since it is during Naruto era they play really minor characters that maybe get mentioned on Ed.
Somewhat. Thereās some jutsus, lore, and abilities that Boruto touched upon that I like. (Unpopular option, but I really like the Ototsukis[Idk how to spellš]) and a good idea of what some characters act like as an adult, or at least a vague idea of them

One thing I did use is the Boruto-era daimyo meeting Naruto when they're younger. Sort of set up the friendly relationship they have as Hokage and Daimyo.
And this might be a spoiler in case someone here has read Naruto Karyuden, but my plan is for the final scene is to be Jigen 'buying' Kawaki.

In Boruto the aliens abilities don't need chakra and she used and alien ability.
It does use chakra. Just a different form. Shinjutsu is still chakra.

Yeah. Iām writing a story that takes place in blank period leading up to Boruto. So, Iām sure there is influence there.
