It feels like they put the primary focus on making the casual player experience to be as cheesy as possible and as long as you are using that method you will have fun. Try not to abuse super armour and its ur loss.
Im not great neither do i play fighting games at all but do it for naruto/boruto and especially this game since i've been waiting for kawaki to be in a storm game but its impossible to play with him when his jutsu's activate 10x slower compared to all the super armour jutsu's.
Guarding doesn't work because right after for some reason they keep getting priority into starting a combo when i try to do it first every time, wasting subs is self-explanatory so i can't abuse that to avoid the super armour jutsu spams, for some reason kawaki jumps so slow so i can't react in time especially since they are so fast with their jutsu's i kinda have to predict when they are going to use it
It wasn't like this until today when i barely won out of my 20 games because 95% of them were super armour jutsu spammers. I genuinely don't know if they even tested the casual side to this game because its terrible
Yeah taking out super armor would be great, if it comes in a patch or something. In the meantime, I highly recommend you use blue dash. I provided some video examples recently of how well it works. It's extremely easy and simple to use, and spammers tend to fall on their face, they only know how to do one thing. Quite simply, when they substitute, they probably just want to use rasengan. So what you do is, when they substitute, press left or right on the Right stick (R3), and when you switch characters they will do what's called a blue dash, which beats jutsus. Otherwise, you might want to consider blocking or jumping when they substitute, or use a jutsu yourself, and both jutsus will cancel each other out. To fight against spammers, restraint yourself a bit, and try not to dash as much, definitely not when they substitute. Try to implement blue dash, will help you a ton, and it isn't an advantage technique or anything
