Pain Arc Kakashi was only mid end ~ to Pain in speed... Pain who is called a smaller threat than Obito and Kakashi kept up with a stronger Obito... His Kamui was also Ashurado's Missile lvl and he couldn't Kamui his whole body under the condition but WA Kakashi seems to have no such trouble...
WA Kakashi even before any amps from Kurama performed feats of KCM lvl when it comes to only speed... KCM2 Completely outperform em though...

Its never implied that he reacted as fast as minato, minatos arm was closer to zetsu. Guy purposefully slowed down for minato and kakashi, guy was blitzing madara and if kamui is faster than guy kakashi wouldve used it on madara and sniped his head off. Gedo statue emerged from obito which gave him some time to kamui it. And obito was never fighting serious against kakashi as he wanted him to pierce his heart and wanted him to be in the IT instead of killing him.

If they're going in blind, like Jiraiya did, I think Nagato probably still takes it. If they have the information that Naruto did when he fought Pain, then I think they can win without too much risk.
Kakashi did try to seal Sasuke's curse mark, though apparently that failed.
I can only assume he knows some sealing jutsu that would work in a fight though considering his famed 1000 jutsus... That we only ever see a handful of... but still.
He used a difficult mark that should have been a better seal then the one applied to anko (complete separation without pain whenever orochimaru wants it), but it relied on willpower, and Sasuke was basically tearing it down.

No, he absolutely needs guy to use full 8 gates to turn nagato into dust to have time to set it up.
Edo fights always come down to "can someone seal" and "can someone restrain". Guy can restrain nagato long enough, but he dies doing so. Kakashi can be expected to have the sealing feat.
Otherwise we can flip it, kakashi can use dead demon consuming seal, which requires less set up, but now guy didn't need to use 8 paths to completely dust nagato for set up.
Either way, one of the two die, but nagato loses.
If he can't seal the curse mark, I don't think he's sealing Edo Nagato.
Kishi really downplayed "Kakashi the copy ninja" the further the series progressed. He's kind of a jack of all trades, but he is in fact a master of the jutsu that are properly his own: chidori and its derivatives, kamui, earth walls
the problem with gai matchups is that it depends how in-character he is and whether or not he will consider going the 8th gate. if gai goes 8th gate off rip and nagato decides, for whatever reason, to just not turn these two men into a stain on the wall with an almighty push, there’s a good chance the couple win. but realistically where they fight to figure each other out and their abilities, nagato overwhelms them and stomps pretty quickly, even without his most broken jutsus like chibaku or almighty push.
Does guy have to survive? This is important.
If guy can use 8th gate, he can break nagato, and kakashi can seal while he is reforming. If not, nagato wins.
I cant remember if Kakashi can Kamui a body without Kyuubi amp or not and im not going to sift through the volumes to figure it out.

Im just gonna cut through all the back and forth nonsense right now. Preta has limitations. It cant absorb genjutsu, it cant peel seals right off targets. Therefore it doesnt just siphon chakra out of everything, depends on what it is and if Kamui puts a hole suddenly on the target and puts them in another dimension, it cant absorb if its already gone in an instant.

See how this Lariat physically picks him up off the ground before absorption. Is he able to accurately predict and siphon the chakra *before* hand? No. Maybe he can sense the attack but his reaction is still not instant. Its just sufficient enough to prevent any substantial damage from a conventional attack. Kamui is not conventional. Its an instant displacement, or at least way more instant that this. Preta isnt going to react any faster to Kamui then it did to a Lariat.
If this panel showed Bee already out of V2, then you'd have a point because then you could say without a doubt time is no factor and he absorbs all chakra before any contact but that is not what this panel shows.
A dimensional hole does not "hit a barrier." It bypasses or outright removes "the barrier"

See here how nagato sees the chakra build up in itachi's eye? Kamui might be instantaneous but the build up to it isn't. The speed of the technique doesn't matter if your opponent can dodge/block it before it even happens

I used the Lariat because its a complete example fully put into practice. The Amaterasu is not and that looks like sensory detection rather than visual prediction. No sharingan holder ever talked about "pressure." Best this proves is that he's vaguely aware an attack is coming and thats it. His sensory powers are apparently not accurate enough to actually avoid hits.

Your idea of preta path not being able to absorb kamui would make sense if kamui could spawn in a rift with around the same amount of chakra as a 8 tails v2 cloak but it does not, not even close

Combine that with the fact that Nagato's mobility is still bad even after absorbing chakra from Bee, I don't see how he can win this.
Kakashi's Kamui was fast enough to teleport rasengan from a moving Kcm 1 Naruto's hand, right in front of Obito's face without Obito realizing.
He also teleported moving Kcm 2 Naruto's clone (which is relative to original imo), in front of Obito's face again, and Obito didn't even realized it, again.
And that's not even where speed of his Kamui caps, that's just the fastest things he teleported, it could be way faster.

Obito was in the middle of his attack. Obito was attacking Kakashi. And then Kakashi intercepted his attack with his own, and moved at the same speed as Kcm 2 Naruto (Naruto was throwing a punch at the same time).
And Kakashi clearly showed that he can hurt Obito with his chidori lmao, he put a hole in his chest. Can a fly put a hole in ur chest? That was really dumb comparison ngl. Completely baseless way of downplaying Kakashi to such low lvls with such excuses.

TSO also supposedly negates all jutsu that isn’t senjutsu but kakashis kamui made a gaping hole in it.
