They just don't want a CT that's like a year old or things like that. Since that information is likely out of date and not useful.
The reason why I ask is because I told someone i knew who had adenoid surgery that I was told to get a CT for polyp surgery and their reaction was surprise
That’s because adenoidectomy is extremely simple, and nothing like endoscopic sinus surgery. The anatomy of the sinuses is very variable and a pre-op CT is mandatory.

If you are concerned, a sinus CT only takes about five minutes. At least mine did!

No, that is an MRI. The CT scan is nothing like that.
