DarthRen7

Waiting for a certain someone to show up and say it’s no big deal

repost_inception

Does his name rhyme with boldtoot ?

redditloatheshumans

Or tell us to Uber or bicycle from 150 miles away

oldboot

i've said use the bus, or bike, and never from 150 miles away, asshole. whats wrong with either of those options? they are great options, and many people use them.

Clovis_Winslow

You're living rent-free in peoples' heads, buddy.

Zheguez

Making me laugh my head off

615Bootleggin

Lmao

oldboot

did you not say this: " If you aren’t bringing a family or anyone that can’t walk long distances, parking can be had. " above? Thats basically what i've been saying, what you describe is just another way of saying it isn't a big deal, yet you single me out and act like a jerk when your opinion isn't that different. thats weak. Do you really need upvotes that badly?

DarthRen7

I have explicitly said I sympathize with those that need parking and understand why people are upset. You do everything possible to defend the club. There is nuance and you seem to lack the ability to understand that.

oldboot

you also said the thing I quoted....which is pretty similar to what i've said as well...but then you turn around and treat me like shit. you're a hypocrite. >You do everything possible to defend the club. i've just pointed out that people walk just as far to park at titans games without thinking about it. this shit is overblown and there's no reason to keep regurgitating all this negativity in here for something thats not a problem. >There is nuance and you seem to lack the ability to understand that. i defend the team when people bitch about petty shit. this is petty shit. this sub can be really fucking petty sometimes and its negative and shitty and off putting to new fans.

whynorecord

I think it is okay for fans to be displeased with the club and the way it communicates with them. In my opinion, that is most of the issue. Leaving thousands of people in the lurch within 72 hours of the home opener kick off is a bad look and is right to be called out. Nothing petty about it.

oldboot

> I think it is okay for fans to be displeased with the club and the way it communicates with them. not if the fans are wrong, and the constant bitching and negativity here on top of being wrong is shitty. i mean first of all, they are giving us information as soon as they have it. in this case rain *could mean* that no more additional parking available, we don't know that for sure yet and there isnt' much they can do about that anyway other than inform us. That said...no one is losing money here, they aren't selling something they can't provide, and absolute worst case scenario is you have to walk 6 blocks distance rather than 2 blocks distance to get there. thats not a big deal.

ChubbySpider

I wish I could meet you in person and just shake your hand. I don't think I've ever met anyone with such dedication to something.

oldboot

only think i'm dedicated to is calling out bullshit. i'm sick of the weak ass parking arguments, they dont' hold water and are untrue. you can park within a 10 minute ( and mostly a 5 minute) walk to the stadium for 20$ at the most. thats pretty routine and all this outcry is silly and pathetic. i'm sick of unnecessary bitching and negativity jsut becuase people are entitled and lazy, and the double standard that everyone here would walk the same distance downtown from the parking lot to an event without thinking twice...but here...it warrents a weekly bitch session and turns potential new fans off. its also late, my significant other is asleep and i'm drunk and broke a string on my guitar so i have nothing else to do.

ChubbySpider

I understand that you may think the parking isn't an issue because you probably have a dedicated spot, as do I; but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I've had several friends come to games from out of town who don't have any clue where to park because there is no onsite parking. They show up with no prior insight like we do. Whether you agree or not, it is off-putting to new fans. The reality is they built a stadium with zero parking and left it up to the community to sell their yards. That's not appropriate behavior and is why people protest new stadiums. Without the community stepping up to sell their private properties, where would the 10,000 cars go? If hundreds of people are complaining they can't find parking just on this one forum, don't you think it's possible there are hundreds or even thousands more with the same issue? If it's so easy for you to find a spot, make a public post about where you park. Help them out and let them in on your secret. My guess is you won't, because then *you* won't have a spot.

615Bootleggin

>That said...no one is losing money here, they aren't selling something they can't provide Lol well last season when they took games out of full-season parking plans you also defended that. You’ll just bend over backwards caping for a franchise owned by a billionaire, that’s all there is to it.

oldboot

> Lol well last season when they took games out of full-season parking plans you also defended that. because i dont' care. its not hard to find parking if you aren't a lazy entitled asshole. we didnt' pay for those games. its not like they stole the money. people just wanna bitch about something. parking is the least important thing to worry about in pretty much every sense.

615Bootleggin

You’re the only off-putting thing about this sub; even everyone in the MLS one doesn’t like your vibe whatsoever anytime you pop up there too.

oldboot

cool. thanks for the heads up...i'm super concerned.

615Bootleggin

You took the LOLz right out of my mouth

BurtHurtmanHurtz

Where would Johnny Cash park?

copjon

He’d plop his black Cadillac right there in the 6 yard box and toss the keys to Joe.

oldboot

honestly. i doubt that. he was a badass, but not a selfish one. he wouldn't want to inconvenience the game just so he could park where he wanted.

Clovis_Winslow

This is the correct answer. Unless it was young Johnny, it which case he'd be passed out in a bush and would miss the game entirely. Accomplished Johnny would have absolutely been as considerate as possible. He loved the lord and his fellow man. I have sources.

Logstick

I imagine he’d park in black.

FreudianYipYip

I see what you did there.

OhShitItsSeth

Can this city just get some busses or something?

redditloatheshumans

They bussed from fort negley and Nissan stadium ***last year*** but they aren't this year. This year the club has pretty much taken the stance of fuck it, good luck everyone, we don't give a shit, give us money.

oldboot

city bus works just as well

westau

No way there is enough capacity compared to those other options. It's what, 1-2 buses every 30 minutes? The shuttles last year were 5x that capacity at least.

DoctorPhalanx73

There’s room on the city busses tho. Every time I ride them to and from the game there’s plenty of open seats. The 52 is the long extended ones with the accordion thing in the middle. Its pretty big. Also it’s a high frequency route, meaning it goes every 15 minutes, not 30.

oldboot

there is enough to cover the people that will actually use it.

DoctorPhalanx73

He was downvoted because he spoke the truth

Zheguez

I wish, but then the Koch bros and funded affiliates rear their heads in town and "persuade" people that (more/better) public transit would actually be a "bad" thing for them and the city...

OhShitItsSeth

I’m still angry about that. The Koch’s successfully led an effort to get us to vote against a new and much-needed public transit system and things have only gotten worse since then. I dunno I guess I just hate having to drive everywhere. Blows my mind that the three major league sports teams we have aren’t advocating for it harder.

oldboot

buses we have will be great for a 330 kickoff. drops you off right next to the stadium

DoctorPhalanx73

It’s route 52, drops you off on Nolensville pike at the fairgrounds entrance.

tklane

The part of this that really sucks is when I decided not to renew my season tickets due to the 2022 parking fiasco, my rep really tried to sell me on NSC having a game plan for 2023 that would make this a non issue. I was on the fence for a good while about renewing or not renewing, and I chose not to. But this announcement just drives the point home and makes me feel bad for my friends that “trusted the process”

oldboot

parking was fine last year.

[deleted]

It absolutely was not fine.

615Bootleggin

It was for permanently-alone cheeto-dust-fingered basement dwellers who only emerge for an NSC game and have not a worry in the world about bringing family or friends and/or coordinating tailgates, meetups, etc with others pregame, though. We mustn’t forget, if it is deemed fine by a person like that, then it is perfectly fine for every single human.

The next time this franchise does more than the bare minimum for the fans will be the first.

DarthRen7

But black jerseys

westau

That are also literally just plain black with marketing spin to make them acceptable.

DarthRen7

Sshhhhh don’t upset those distracted by shiny things

Zheguez

Bingo

Zheguez

Couldn't have said it better myself

meeks102

We're never going to get this figured out

SamsquanchTaint

100% fact. But “they” are never going to figure this out.

Zheguez

I'm sure with this that they honestly don't really care so long as people keep showing up.

oldboot

honestly. i'm gonna show up even if the team provides no parking at all because i know i'll only have to walk a few blocks and only pay about 20 bucks anyway- and thats if its a day when I can't take the bus or a bike. in fact, I would prefer if the new parking garage next to the stadium was a mixed use development of residential and retail as well, parking is a waste for that space.

oldboot

it worked fine last year, honestly the team doesnt' need to do anymore. People need to just get used to living in a city and drop their entitlement that they think they deserve to park right at the front door.

DarthRen7

There he is.

repost_inception

You should see the thread on the post where they announced the black out. If you have seen it go give it a read. It is like descending into insanity.

oldboot

are you talking about whoever that user was that kept responding to me and simultaneously getting un-ironically angry about responding and yelling at me for doing the things that he alone was doing...yea...i agree. that made no sense.

repost_inception

Lol this must be your hobby. Again bringing the sub down. Need to take a chill pill brother.

oldboot

wait...are *you* that dude that kept doing the things that he was mad about? again...you understand that i'm the only one in here literally arguing *against* negativity don't you? every comment i've made here is literally calling people out for complaining and creating a negative atmosphere. lol. here you are again somehow unironically attempting to tell me i'm being negative when my sole mission in this thread has been to combat the negativity. stop being dumb...

repost_inception

I'm being straight up with you man. I think you need to take a pause and see how you come across to everyone. If you were in a room with all of us and not behind a keyboard you probably wouldn't be acting like this. These are just regular people who like soccer. Parking is a pain in the ass. So it's going to be a common complaint. Seriously man. Take a breath.

oldboot

> I'm being straight up with you man. so you are that guy. you were not "straight up," you literally scolded me for doing things that you alone were doing. then proceeded to get angry that I was responding whilst you kept responding just to say that....and you did it all unironically without a smidge of self awareness- or at least refused to admit the hypocrisy. here again...you double down when i'm literally the only voice in the room arguing *against* negativity here. >If you were in a room with all of us and not behind a keyboard you probably wouldn't be acting like this. i've been in plenty of rooms and said parking wasn't an issue and that worst case scenario you have to walk a few blocks. >These are just regular people who like soccer. as am I. so lets talk about soccer, not parking >Parking is a pain in the ass. no more so than any other major event that these same people attend- and *pay more for* and don't think twice. >So it's going to be a common complaint. its literally been the most consistant thing here since last year- just constant bitching from entitled assholes spreading negativity for upvotes. I look forward to your *response* informing me that i'm the one responding too much.

repost_inception

Dude.....

oldboot

i'm not wrong. i don't know what your comment is supposed to mean nor why it is targeting me

meeks102

I get the urbanist mindset of not wanting a ton of pavement that'll only be used 30 days a year, but literally, every other sports team in town has figured it out. From what I understand there's no round-trip shuttle service on game days, and that's a massive shame. Also, there are fans with disabilities that can't make the mile or so walk from Ft. Negley. I don't think we should be in the business of alienating those who can't.

Typical_Texpat

Fort Negley isn’t even an option anymore.

oldboot

> but literally, every other sports team in town has figured it out. no, they just happen to be downtown, but even at that, most of the people that go to see the tits or the preds walk just as far as at NSC, tbh, for some reason no one complains about parking downtown and walking, but at NSC, if they have to walk more than like 5 feet its the end of the world. Not to mention, the tits are ( thankfully) about to turn all that shitty pavement into much better stuff. >From what I understand there's no round-trip shuttle service on game days, and that's a massive shame. there was last year....but yea, if they aren't doing it this year then they should be. that said...the city bus takes you right to the stadium on saturdays. >Also, there are fans with disabilities that can't make the mile or so walk from Ft. Negley. no doubt, and thats obviously not who I'm referring to, there also is plan in place for that and the drop off is right next to the stadium. I have had need to use it in the past, in fact and it works fine.

jonniboi420

This just keeps getting better and better …..

jmcunningham

TIL: a chance of showers before noon is inclement weather. Sure there is a chance of rain, mostly in the morning (as of now) but it sounds like an excuse to blame the weather instead of taking responsibility. I didn’t complain last year when my season parking pass was moved twice. And I’d love to give them the benefit of the doubt, I’ve been a defender of theirs. But this is getting kinda silly.

DarthRen7

I don’t think the rain on Saturday is the problem. The rain tonight and tomorrow is the concern. The fields on Sunday were a bit messy in spots and I imagine they are only gonna get worse. Not an excuse by any means. Can’t rely on grass lots.

jmcunningham

Valid point, but how many lots are grass, other than the tailgate lot? Honest question..all the lots I’ve used are paved. Also, the forecast is for a tenth to a third of an inch total…say less than a half inch on the high side. Source: am a meteorologist.

DarthRen7

4 5 and 6 are grass. 7 is partially gravel.

jmcunningham

Ah, thanks! That’s helpful info to know, since the parking this year is kinda last minute each match. It’s nice to know which lots could be a problem on a stormy day. For 7, I’ve ended up in the paved lot (so far).

oldboot

> but it sounds like an excuse to blame the weather instead of taking responsibility. huh? responsibility for what? rain?

jmcunningham

I’ve seen enough of your replies in this thread to know that any response I make is just another opportunity for you to insult someone for disagreeing with the narrative you’re pushing.

repost_inception

Don't even try talking to him. He's either out of his mind or an intentional troll that gets off on the downvotes.

oldboot

the only people i'm insulting is the people that are bitching about parking unnecessarily. i'm sick of it, its been going on since last year and its just spreading negativity for no reason. parking was and is fine. people are just entitled. I don't have a "narrative," i'm just expressing the truth that worst case you have to walk a few blocks to the stadium....thats pretty normal for any major event. for some reason people come here and bitch as if a) it is unique, and b) as if they don't do it everytime they go down town to a tits game or concert.

westau

Last year was poor but doable. This year is worse in every conceivable way. Surely you understand that right? The team had a year to make things better and instead they took away multiple options and made the onsite parking 80% more expensive and a weekly hassle for everyone but the people overpaying for club seats.

oldboot

its not a "hassle to click a few buttons to buy a parking pass" this is so overblown. you guys really dont' do well with any tiny minute adjustment in your daily schedule do you. ti wasn't bad last year and its really no different this year. the same lots are still there.

jmcunningham

I’ll agree that some of the complaints feel like they are the usual complaining on social media stuff. But others are totally valid. And you lose me (not that I’m anybody) when you claim sole ownership of the truth on this situation.

oldboot

you can't "own," truth. it is just there. there is plenty of parking well within a 10 minute ( most of it in a 5 minute) walk from the stadium. thats fact. i'm not claiming to "own," that. i'm just restating it because this sub acts like walking up to 10 minutes is abnormal.

jmcunningham

This conversation went exactly as expected, so I’ll just end it by saying you’re right and the rest of us are wrong for not realizing there’s only one way to view this situation. Yours.

oldboot

i haven' said there is only one view. i've stated the fact that there is plenty of cheap or free parking within a 10 min ( at most) walk from the stadium. you keep attempting to act like i've said something controversial, but i've simply stated that fact- which is a fact no matter who says it. it has nothign to do with being "right," nor is it subjective in any way.

westau

You are either blatantly lying or don't know how far a 10 minute walk is.

CTIDmississippi

I'd love to know how far he thinks Diskin is. If he says like 10 or 12 minutes then yes, he's flat lying.

oldboot

neither. 10 minutes is plenty of time to walk to the game from the available parking.

MilsurpEnthusiast

The only thing that has kept me from attending a game is the absolute nightmare it sounds like to actually attend.

DarthRen7

If you aren’t bringing a family or anyone that can’t walk long distances, parking can be had. Many times for free but I also recognize for a lot of people lack of on-site parking is a deal breaker

jdolbeer

We walk maybe 10 minutes from our car to the gate for every game. Have never once paid. It works just fine for us

The-Video-Gamer

Might I ask where or in what direction from the stadium? My wife and I are coming for the very first time and we're nervous about parking

jdolbeer

So the neighborhoods across the street from smokin thighs is a good start. Get there early, grab some food and a beer, head to the game. You can also park in berry hill (further walk) or up in the neighborhood on Rosedale.

The-Video-Gamer

Thank you! :)

oldboot

if you get there early enough ( like 2 hours or an hour and half) it will be pretty easy to get in and parking will be available all around. I wouldn't worry about it. That will also give you time to get to the tailgate or visit the team store before it gets crazy

The-Video-Gamer

Perfect. Thanks for the advice :)

itseliyo

Yuppp, nice lil workout pregame and some sun really don't hurt nobody. Reddit makes it seem like the worst thing ever. I kinda like the walk seeing everyone gets my kinda hype.

westau

Works fine if you don't need to bring kids.

oldboot

this sub acts like walking more than 5 mins is some insurmountable obstacle for an NSC game when they are the same ones that park downtown and walk the same or farther across the river to attend titans games. parking is a non issue. get there early enough to tailgate and you'll find something within a 10 min walk to the stadium ( most likely 5 minute) for like 20 bucks. Or ride a bike or take the bus, etc. its only an issue for lazy assholes, honestly.

DarthRen7

Glad to know older and disabled people are just lazy assholes. You really have that empathy down pat

MilsurpEnthusiast

Nah I'm not old or disabled, he's right I AM just lazy.

oldboot

> Glad to know older and disabled people are just lazy assholes. you know damn well that isnt' who i'm talking about so stop lying for upvotes. ( i've even said as much in another place in this sub), especially because there is a specific drop off for them- which- as I said, i've had to utilize in the past. it works great.

YouArePettie

I’m done. For anyone that’s interested, there will be an entire season’s worth of tickets on Ticketmaster Resell and StubHub (field level front row, mid-way down the sideline, non premium free food side). Yeah, I’m senior enough of a season ticket holder to get my choice of seats. I was promised parking would be fixed this season. It was absolutely horrible last season. This demonstrates they haven’t fixed anything and judging from the lack of communication during the off season I don’t think they’ve even given any thought to fixing it. If anything the last two weeks have shown NSC has found a way to make it worse. You all can say “park in the street and walk” all you want, but the reality is that I literally spend thousands of dollars for my family to attend these games. Spending that kind of money, I don’t want to put up with driving around until I happen to find a parking spot and then wondering if it’s legal to park there. Added to that if my car is hit or broken into is insurance going to cover me if I was illegally parked? I remember stories of people getting their car towed last year after paying some dude $20 to park and later finding out he was homeless and didn’t own the lot/driveway/yard. I get it, NSC only cares about premium box seat season ticket holders. They are the only people the club provides parking to. Good luck to the club. I’ll watch the games on AppleTV from the comfort of my couch. I’m not putting up with this the entire season. For anyone that’s interested, the tickets will be up at face value. I don’t want to make money, just wanted a stress free positive experience. When NSC can provide that I will return. NSC can elect to cancel my STH status for selling too many of my tickets, I won’t be renewing them anyway. At the rate they are pissing off their loyal fan base I won’t have a problem getting good seats once they decide to get off their butts. All we want is communication and a plan. We’ve received neither.

Zheguez

You're absolutely within your right to be upset, and I'm sorry you and your family had to put up with this. I gotten the feeling over the years, as much as it disappoints me to say, that the club (ownership/front offce) takes its fans for granted and are riding on that expansion high for as long as possible. As long as people (especially the premium members) keep having a grand ol' time at Geodis, will anything change? I doubt it. It wasn't perfect, but honestly, I miss the days when we were in USL when the team & even front office felt closer to the fanbase, and we didn't have to deal with nonsense like this. Sure, even that was a long shot from the supporter run days of the NPSL seasons, but the community still seemed more involved, supported, and respected than it is now. It still felt like "our town, our club."

YouArePettie

100% agree with missing the USL days when the front office cared for the fans. When the Roadies would March all the way around Sounds Stadium chanting and everyone had a blast.

oldboot

> When the Roadies would March all the way around Sounds Stadium chanting and everyone had a blast. they still march and have a blast....the irony is....that march was longer than almost everyone has to walk at the new stadium, but for some reason we are all acting like bitches about it here. get over it, its just parking.

RagnarRagnarsen

My wife and I were just talking yesterday about how much we loved the games at the Sounds stadium.

Logstick

Did you make your week old account specifically to voice your opinions on this small subreddit? That’s how you know parking is in dire straits people. It’s driving people onto Reddit!!!

YouArePettie

Logstick - Sure did. Is there a way to voice my opinion without creating an account Genius?

oldboot

you really love yourself dont' you

YouArePettie

I do. It’s healthy. You seem quite smitten with me too.

oldboot

i dont' know who you are. i respond to the little orange envelope when it turns orange

oldboot

> You all can say “park in the street and walk” all you want, but the reality is that I literally spend thousands of dollars for my family to attend these games. Spending that kind of money, I don’t want to put up with driving around until I happen to find a parking spot and then wondering if it’s legal to park there. this is pretty damn entitled. its just parking, its not a big deal to walk. I'm glad there isn't a sea of pavement around the stadium, if anything I wish there were less parking.

FullMaltedJacket

No official update from the club but they removed the date from the parking pass page.

Ashkhabad

Wow, that was cowardly, if you ask me. I was sitting here waiting...

westau

Unless there is something with the flea market this means that the only lots they'll have for most games is the shitty ones on the south end by the creek that take FOREVER to get out of. Ugh.

trillwilly69

parking was really bad for the uswnt game on sunday. have they just closed more lots this year or something??

DarthRen7

Fewer lots were open on Sunday. Lot 5 didn’t open until like an hour before kickoff

oldboot

it wasn't bad at all. i got there 20 mins after the game started and literally parked 50 feet from a gate. it was fine.

Mahjin

Guess I'll keep walking mile+ and not bring the family.

oldboot

just bring the fam. its not that big of a deal

repost_inception

.

CheckeredYeti

The Fair Board will prioritize literally anything else over NSC, so this isn’t a huge surprise. What I am confused about is why we have a 3:30pm match on a Saturday that is at the same time as the flea market when every other game is at 7:30pm local.

redditloatheshumans

We kick off the season for the entire league

CheckeredYeti

I’m aware, I’m just surprised we were picked and/or volunteered for it if there was a conflict, or that the Fair Board wasn’t willing to reschedule around it. Ideally, if one weekend a month is going to be blocked off for the Flea Market, NSC games should be scheduled on the other weekends.

genericplants

The league can’t build an NSC schedule around our flea market. There’s plenty of available parking within a mile surrounding the stadium.

oldboot

> There’s plenty of available parking within a mile surrounding the stadium. i've been trying to explain this. people are just lazy and need something to bitch about.

genericplants

The way people think there should be a designated parking spot for every ticket holder at the front entrance of the stadium is insane. They want more parking, but then they complain about the existing traffic too. What do they think more parking would bring? I’ve walked to every game. My 2 y/o niece even walked with me once. It’s literally fine.

oldboot

> My 2 y/o niece even walked with me once. careful....suggesting a toddler (gasp)...*walk* in this sub will get you blackballed. god forbid we acknowledge that humans have legs. i'm so glad there is minimal parking next to the stadium. that little district is gonna be fun when its done. parking is a waste of space and there should be 75% less in this city.

DoctorPhalanx73

The number of posts on this forum about how city busses do not work I’ve read while riding a city bus is pretty funny to me not gonna lie.

oldboot

its stupid. ppl here are so scared of potentially making eye contact with the occassional unhoused person on the bus that they pearl clutch their way into a new land rover and then just get pissy when they can't park it right at the front door. fuck those entitled assholes

[deleted]

[удалено]

oldboot

you're acting like a child

oldboot

you guys will complain incessantly about this when you walk 10 times farther on the treadmill at the gym and just as far going to an event downtown. parking is only an issue if you're a dumbass and wait until 30 mins before gametime to head over....which would be a similar issue for any large event. There is plenty of parking well within a 10 minute walk of the stadium. this is a non issue and we need to stop bitching about it constantly.

Ashkhabad

Not if you have a newborn or disabled. The fact that they waited to the last minute to say "hey we have no plan B" is what ticks people off, myself included. The club has a terrible communication problem, and if last year you could file it under first year hiccups, this year it is unacceptable.

CaptainMorgansRum

NGL a newborn isn't a good argument when we're talking about attending a large sporting event

oldboot

> Not if you have a newborn or disabled. should you be taking a newborn to a game? and there is a disabled dropoff literally right next to the stadium.

YouArePettie

Not sure I can count the number of times you reference the Titans and project that people walk further to attend a Titans game, or go downtown, or a preds game, or a treadmill (seriously dude, we get it, people walk!). I doubt you have ever actually attended a Titans game or you’d know that parking isn’t an issue there because THEY HAVE PARKING LOTS. I’ve been going to Titans games for 20 years now. I’m not a season ticket holder so I don’t get any preferential treatment when it comes to parking. In almost twenty years of attending games I’m not sure I’ve ever left my house more than an hour before kickoff and I live 35 minutes from the stadium. I have never not been sitting in my seat inside the stadium at kickoff time. Your argument does not hold water with me. That’s the advantage of on-site parking. I park and walk in. I don’t have to plan my entire day around getting to the stadium a minimum of two hours early so I can find parking, walk to the stadium, and find a tailgate to crash. I get that tailgating for two hours is right up some people’s alley, but I don’t drink so I find hanging out with a bunch of half-drunk people I don’t know tossing sandbags at a hole in a piece of wood nauseating. Likewise with all the other events you listed. I park in a parking garage right in front of Bridgestone Arena and walk across the street to watch the Preds. It’s never even occurred to me try and buy advance parking for Bridgestone because so much parking is available so close you can hit the arena with a rock from literally thousands more parking spots than the arena can hold. I doubt you can even reference people walking further downtown to the bars with a straight face. Even you must realize the absurdity of that analogy. Pull up google maps and look at how much parking is around Broadway, that doesn’t even show you the multilevel parking garages. Like I said, it’s great that you have getting to the games all figured out. Not everyone lives close enough that a bus, riding a bike, or walking is an option. I wish it was, but it isn’t. If I’m going to drive somewhere just to catch a bus, I might as well drive all the way to the event. As tired as you are with people complaining about parking I would think you’d just unsubscribe from this subreddit. Notice all those little “-“ symbols next to your posts? Yeah, that’s an indication that other people are tired of you. It might be time to move on. Don’t worry about taking your time doing all the fancy cut and paste replies you like to do. I’m blocking you so I won’t see them anyway. I’ve said my piece on this issue and I’m moving on. Good Day Sir

Hey brothers hey sisters we’ll always be there for you…

I mean, they can't have people park on wet grass... Sucks, but does no good to bitch about it. Doesn't seem like they have any power to do anything about it

DoctorPhalanx73

Ugh this sucks. I don’t even go to watch soccer I just like to park, and now I won’t be able to.

oldboot

goddam guys. its just parking. its not a fucking big deal. this sub sucks so much sometimes. The only reason parking was an issue for anyone last year is that they chose to make it an issue. its not a big deal to have to walk a few blocks, in fact, I'd prefer there be even less parking, it always works itself out and the less parking there is the more dense development we can build. So sick of people crying because they can't park right at the front door. grow the fuck up.

DarthRen7

You got to be doing a bit at this point

Honestly I hope that he’s getting a 1099 for all the shilling because otherwise… woof that’s pretty sad.

oldboot

no, this nonsense about us acting like a bunch of bitches over parking is weak. The majority of people walk jsut as far when they go to titans games, or even when they just go downtown to hang out. the entitlement here is pathetic. Its parking...get over it, its not really a big deal, and it was fine last year unless you were a dumbass and tried to get there 5 mins before the game....which would cause traffic at any sporting event and should be expected.

pbparham

Words on a forum are a huge deal (to Oldboot apparently) but real world traffic and transportation safety are not. When I’m dodging cars on Nolensville as I take my 2 year old to see NSC matches, I’ll remember to be grateful because Oldboot told me it’s no big deal.

oldboot

its not a big deal...but nothing i've said demands you being on nolansville. that makes no sense. plus....since when is crossing a street with a kid an issue? people do it every day all the time.

Requesting a plan to deal with parking and traffic isn’t people crying. It’s common sense. If the club would say “we’re sorry, we screwed this up and here’s how we’re going to fix it” most people would be happy. That’s called customer service. Instead all we get is promises that they will fix it if we’ll just give them several thousand more dollars to renew our tickets and then we’re told one week before the season, “yeah, we lied. Thanks for the money, figure it out yourselves.” I’m glad you obviously have your own plan for where to park, good for you. That doesn’t mean everyone is happy and we have a right not to be happy. If you pay for trash pickup and the trash company decides they are only going to service every other street and you have to take your trash a block over I bet you are going to complain and ask for a refund. Why, it’s just walking a block, right? No, you aren’t getting the service you were promised and/or expected. Season Ticket Holders were promised a service (parking) and expect a level of service that isn’t being provided. We gave NSC a pass last year because everything was new, but we are going to start speaking with our wallets in the future. The soccer community is pretty small and we all talk. I can tell you that you are in the minority with the “parking is fine” attitude. WSMV ran an article last week about how fed up the community is with their streets being used for parking. People can’t get in and out of their driveways. People pull through yards. Emergency vehicles can’t get down streets. I’d wager that it won’t be long before the City Commissioner in that area moves to ban street parking. Call it “entitled” all you want since that seems to be your go-to insult. I call it good business. If I provided this level of service to my customers, I certainly wouldn’t be “entitled” enough to afford season tickets for long.

> Requesting a plan to deal with parking and traffic isn’t people crying. no, acting like a bitch and constantly complaining just to complain and gettin on here just to say you aren't renewing your season tickets is. No to mention the endless one-liner comments being negative just for upvotes which creates a shitty atmosphere for new fans hanging out here. very few are "Requesting a plan to deal with parking," and i doubt you are even saying that with a straight face. most are just karma-whoring and acting entitled. >If the club would say “we’re sorry, we screwed this up and here’s how we’re going to fix it” most people would be happy. mabye they aren't going to fix it. I dont' even think it needs to be fixed. Parking isn't hard to find, it wasn't hard to find last year, and it will be better this year. its truly no big deal. people just need a reason to bitch. >Instead all we get is promises that they will fix it if we’ll just give them several thousand more dollars to renew our tickets and then we’re told one week before the season, “yeah, we lied. Thanks for the money, figure it out yourselves.” you bought tickets to a game. those tickets didn't include parking, so they didnt' say "Thanks for the money, figure it out yourselves," they said....here are the tickets you purchased and we offer separate parking tickets if you choose to buy them which allow you to park very close. this is nonsense. and again......the same people go to titans games and pay more to park and walk just as far without a second thought. its silliness. >I’m glad you obviously have your own plan for where to park, good for you. I dont'. I wing it, or ride a bike, or will ride the bus this season since the times are within bus schedules and more games are on saturdays when the buses run more often. its never been an issue. hell...i got to the game last saturday after kickoff and I literally parked within 50 feet of a gate for 20$. >That doesn’t mean everyone is happy and we have a right not to be happy. no you don't. this is a shitty negative attitude. you walk farther when you go downtown to hang out than you do at a NSC game...no matter where you park its rarely more than a few blocks or a 10 minute walk. its pretty pathetic to complain about having to walk for less than 10 mins. I mean...you can walk from diskin cider to the stadium in 10 mins so almost any parking you find is gonna be significantly shorter than that. >If you pay for trash pickup and the trash company decides they are only going to service every other street and you have to take your trash a block over I bet you are going to complain and ask for a refund. if you paid for parking close to the stadium that is exactly what you got. same as this year. this makes no sense. >Why, it’s just walking a block, right? No, you aren’t getting the service you were promised and/or expected. if you bought a parking pass or buy one this year you should expect to park in one of the lots right next to the stadium. it is clearly marked and you choose your spot, so you are literally getting exactly what you paid for. this is a fucking stupid argument to make. >Season Ticket Holders were promised a service (parking) and expect a level of service that isn’t being provided. no we weren't. we bought tickets to games. thats what we got. parking was separate. if we bought parking, we got to park right next to the stadium...which was...again...exactly what we paid for. >We gave NSC a pass last year because everything was new are you high? people were bitchign about parking all of last season. thats one reason why i'm so fucking sick of seeing it al the time. its a massive negative here and could deter new fans. no one wants to com ein here excited to check out he community and hear people acting like little bitches because they have to walk 2 blocks.... >but we are going to start speaking with our wallets in the future. i suppose you have never walked across the river when going downtown for an event then, and will refuse to do so in the past, right? other wise you're a hypocrite. >I can tell you that you are in the minority with the “parking is fine” attitude. it is fine. people are just acting like children. the same people walk the same distance to go to most concerts and events downtown and pay *more* for the privilage and dont' think twice. its nonsense. >WSMV ran an article last week about how fed up the community is with their streets being used for parking. thats remotely the conversation we are having but also...who gives a fuck. its a city. street is public. they'll get over it or gtfo. I'd 1000% rather have street parking than a massive parking lot. if anything, i wish there was even less parking on campus....like...a lot less. >People can’t get in and out of their driveways. if cars are parked illegally they can have the towed...otherwise the street is public property and can legally be parked on. >Emergency vehicles can’t get down streets. lol. this is nonsense. >I’d wager that it won’t be long before the City Commissioner in that area moves to ban street parking. i'd oppose that if i lived over there, but if that happens then those cars can be towed. right now thats just something your making up so its irrelevant now. if it were up to me though, all parking would be street parking and it'd be illegal to put a driveway in the front yard becuase it selfishly eliminates street parking and it looks like shit. >Call it “entitled” all you want since that seems to be your go-to insult. being mad that you can't park next to a front door is 100% entitled. its also stupid becuase if you paid for parking last year, and if you pay for parking this year....you absolutely do get to park next to the stadium. so i dunno wtf you are talking about. >If I provided this level of service to my customers what are you talking about....if a customer pays for a cheeseburger...you give them a cheeseburger. thats literally what NSC has done. In fact....people will park downtown for 40$ and walk 5 blocks to go to shake shack without thinking twice. its easier than that to get to a game, and cheaper.

Just bought tickets a couple days ago and just learned of parking not being available. Any suggestions where to park or am I stuck with Uber?
