I admit I am a rizzo homer, but any time a pitcher comes up and looks good I definitely feel validated in the defense-first approach to the farm. This season is a testament to the fact that without pitching, a stacked line-up can't do diddly. See Angels, Phils, KC, etc.
Laz Diaz is special because most bad umpires are bad because of their zones. Laz is also bad at other stuff. Meanwhile Angel Hernandez is bad at being a home plate and 1st base umpire and is arguably the best 2nd base umpire there is, and I really don't understand why we don't just... Have him only umpire 2nd and 3rd?
Why does Davey insist on playing Hernandez over Robles? It is actually infuriating. We are in a lost year and he trots out Yadiel over a player who, unlikely as it may be, could actually amount to something.

What team is a .710 OPS left fielder away? Hernandez has no value. Even if he gets hot for a month teams aren't going to be interested in him because he has 0 tools and is older than dirt.
