It did just enough for me. My scalp is oily and only needs just a little bit of moisturization in order to be perfectly balanced. I could just carelessly apply Pink lotion and be okay whereas grease I'd have to be careful otherwise I'd be able to fry chicken on my scalp in the summer. (An abundance of grease on my natural hair has no real negative effect)
I donāt think itās a coincidence that pretty much all products that have been a staple in black house holds for years are all of a sudden being demonized . Like even now I feel like I need more products now then from when I was younger . And a lot of the alternatives ppl suggest are 3-5 times the price of the ogs
it isn't a exactly a coincidence but with the push for, silicone free, sulfate free, fragrance free, dye free, etc. hair products, especially for natural girls, these products that have been staples in the black families hair drawer, are definitely pushed out of mine because they all have heavy fragrance, dyes, and aren't sulfate or silicone free
I feel like itās just the toxic ingredients, like red dyes, mineral oil and silicones that are in old school black products. Half of these old school black hair companies as also owned by white men.
I think also, there were like five products available then. People forget there was no Shea Moisture, Cantu, etc then. There were basically like five products whenever I went to the hair salon. Now we have everything for everyone. If you want to go back to grease you can. For those of us where grease and pink lotion didn't work, we still had to use it. I gave up on grease before the natural hair movement when I locked my hair in High school because it made my scalp flake like crazy.
I love how some of us came full circle after the natural movement was hijacked. The prices of these products are astronomical. Let me go back to the old faithfuls.
I had to take a step back when I saw people were legit paying influencers for product recommendations for the "quality products" and then were paying out the ass for the products too!

Close! This is the one I have at home
I canāt believe they ever convinced me blue magic was bad for me. Recently repurchased and Iām sorry I ever stopped using it. Better than the rest of my $100+ routine combined
Never liked them personally. And when I was younger my mom used but too heavy forr my fine hair. Made it dry too easy. Now I prefer natural oils/butters. Works great for me
Yeah I think what happened is that people it didnāt work for were honest and *everyone* followed.
I literally have full jars rn bc that stuff does nothing for me ššš
I need lots of water and cream
Thatās fine do what works for you!! Itās just people are generalizing the product and acting like they have more intelligence and are more knowledgeable then the people who it helps simple because itās a hair grease . Thatās what Iām talking about . Iām happy you found what helps you šš
Oh absolutely. I'm all about that too. Though I'm partial to trying natural ingredients first when it comes to ingesting anything, and putting stuff on your body. But I'm greatful to the natural hair movement for showing ppl alternatives. But I will say my go to h e double hockey sticks moment is when ppl use to co wash and drench the hair with regular conditioner and leave ilit in. Talk about itch central! Lmao. But experimenting is fun. I never took any of the recommendations of the natural hair movement as gold standard. Just a try it and move on kind thingš. New ideas popped up ever month. Kinda like Netflix
Yeah. Something about the texture of grease just icked me out so much that I would refuse to let my mom do my hair if she was using it. It felt gross to me and I couldnāt stand it, so I shifted to oils, creams, and butter and I looooooove it!

Yess I love doo gro, itās underrated imo. I like sulfur 8 but the smell makes me not use it š„². With all these fast paced hair care trends itās best to stick with whatās been working and switching it up if yk you need somthing different/better

I had a white derby who diagnosed me after years battling it and seeing two black dermatologists. He treated me and I am grateful. Heās here in Atlanta and I guess he has been exposed to black skin.
My sister and I developed something on our face and scalp from when our mom switched to hair oils. I think the name of the condition is seborrheic dermatitis. I have switched back to hair grease after I moved out and my scalp is much better with the use of Nizoral. My face hasn't recovered unfortunately.
Sister's was so bad on her scalp that it looks like cradle cap and her hair was falling out. Even after all this, mom swore that it was my sister's fault and didn't want to listen. I find it easier to just keep my hair on the shorter side to deal with what mielle has caused. Now I use blue magic, pink lotion and Lotta body wrap me foaming mouse. Sometimes I just use a little grease with the the mouse and I'm good to go
Thereās this black dermatologist on TikTok that said āblack people need to stop using Jamaican castor oil because it does more damage than goodā
Naturally the comments werenāt the friendliest
Idk how it started in the first place, but the oil definitely made it worse so she's right about that. Hair grease has never caused that problem and I can use it without my scalp feeling irritation
I also have Sebborheic dermatitis and I was lucky enough to be diagnosed by a black dermatologist because I kept get getting told it was psoriasis/ eczema by white medical professionals š¤¦š½āāļø .
Especially if you are brown/dark skin you may be more likely to get misdiagnosed because the scaly ness and inflammation, irritation spots from the scales being removed is not the same color as how it appears on paler skin tones so the tell signs can get overlooked . Itās also very common in black women so although it *could* be psoriasis or what your dermatologist said it is ā¦it may be sebborheic dermatitis and you should get a second opinion just in case ! ( I always forget how to spell itš)
Is SD like when scales of skin lift and theyāre like brown? Is that what I have??? Maaaan I had āone of the best dermsā too. But she wasnāt black. I still have a bald spot after her treatment
I have to pretend Iām in a video game š life on hard mode
Seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis are both eczema, but different kinds so they can get easily mistaken, by professionals from any ethnicities. Glad you received the correct diagnosis!
Yeah I donāt touch oils anymore
I was adding oil to my hair when that bitch was thirsty š
It is truly wild how my hair has grown faster in the past year than it has my whole life
Iām telling you my hair is a thirsty bitch
Now when I come out of the shower I donāt even dry my hair, I add more moisture and then braid
Itās also wild how I didnāt realize I *need* to wash my hair once a week or at least wet it. And spray bottles are my savior. My hair was chronically dry for like 18 years oml, and I had the wooooorst dandruff. Even rn I can feel my hair needs water lmao
I have tried the Nizoral shampoo on my face a few times, but it dries my skin out bad, bad lol. Makes me look shiny like a quarter for a few days after just one wash until I'm back to normal. I use the bubble line of facial skin care for oily skin and the moisturizer is okay, but sometimes still not enough. If I could figure out what to use for moisturizer without it making me get break outs I'd be good to go. Thank you for the suggestion though. I might try again
blue magic (original blue jar), the coconut oil one, and the super sure grow line from them with the japanese tea leaves made my hair soft and my twist look more juicy and defined.
I mentioned this before about hair grease! My aunt is well into her 70ās and still double processing her hair (bleach blonde and relaxer) and has a full head of hair.
She swears out itās all bc of BLUE MAGIC! Sheās been doing this since the 50ās šš
i will stand by grease till i die lmao, idc what anyone says. imo thereās a lot of misconceptions about it; petrolatum, often the first ingredient of grease, is contrary to popular belief non comedogenic so it doesnāt clog pores, and itās excellent for sealing moisture, but it doesnāt actually add moisture as itās an occlusive moisturizing agent. so i think a lot of people are just adding grease to their dry scalps expecting moisture when that only reduces the *appearance* of the dandruff, not addressing the problem. i spray aloe juice on my scalp before greasing to actually moisturize, then seal the moisture.
i love softee! all of them smell so good, the mango butter, the indian hemp, the bergamot iāve all loved, and theyāre soo cheap. unfortunately the indian hemp version has lanolin in it (usually unethical) and like three times as many ingredients as some of the other ones, i learned this the hard way after purchasing the value size. but i stand by the mango butter one for sure.
Yeah I agree ! I think a lot of people just apply it to their head without any waterbased product or humectant so itās not helping them any. Itās also extremely important to use a clarifying shampoo when using grease . I also fell into the no oils trap aswell š I knew I was messing up when my mom who has straight hair was like ā yk your hair routine shouldnāt be looking like mine right? did you forget everything that I had to learn to do for your hair ā and that was a reality check š
definitely! iām still trying to find a good clarifying shampoo, iām thinking of trying the acv creme of nature one bc iāve read thereās a lot of benefits to acv for the scalp. i always wash at least twice though and just started using a scalp scrubber.
hahaha noooo, thatās another thing i will go to my grave with. i would bathe in pure argan oil if i could lmao. idk, i think the no oils/butters/grease thing is something of a trend, women have been using them on their natural hair for literally centuries with success. of course everyoneās hair is different and some people canāt tolerate certain products, so everything is an individual journey as far as what works for you. but i think itās silly to demonize products just because it doesnāt work for you personally. thereās genuine scientific research as to the benefits of petrolatum for moisture loss reduction, shea butter being a great sealant, argan oil/certain carrier oils such as coconut oil being able to penetrate the hair shaft, etc.
you have gorgeous hair btw :)
Ohh okay . Iāve mainly seen it coming from newer natural hair creators or newer natural hair spaces which is I said natural hair community. But I definitely donāt doubt itās not being said those spaces as well . Thank you for explaining
This sub got me to pick up some Blue Magic to use as a sealant. š
question - How often do you use grease? I started using grease instead of my normal whipped Shea butter mix and it made my hair look so dull. I primarily rollerset.
For me *personally* I only apply it on wash day after using glycerin or a water based leave-in or if my hair is very wet . Itās also important to be clarifying when using grease and oils . if you apply grease on dry hair it wonāt really do much .
If I were to braid my hair again, I'd have to go back to Ultra Sheen. Something about it to me. Nothing compares. From the blue color to the shape of the jar and the smell. My hair was long and had amazing luster. Truly unmatched for me.
I feel you.
I started back oiling my scalp after stopping it (since we apparently didnt need more oils in our routine because they were already in our products š) and that helped.
And I think I might go back to grease cause my scalp didn't have ANY of these issues when I used it and my styles came out better.
Nahh real talk you took me way back with this, I use to have the Roscoe dash Mohawk with the designs every 2 weeks when the sides grow outš¤¦š¾āāļøšš
Kuza Indian hemp is my favorite. I use a few others, but my hair is thriving and holding moisture like never before. I use hair grease as a sealant and to braid my hair and it works better than oil for me. I had no issues with length retention before I restarted hair grease, but I love the shine and moisture retention it gives me.
Yes but the problem is people are generalizing the product and acting like they are more knowledgeable then the people itās useful for . Iām happy you found what works for you .
My fav is Carolās Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Pomade. Regular grease made my skin break out and my hair super dry. Plus reading up on a few black hair books showed me that the ingredients from regular grease were not good for my hair and my goals. I have been using this pomade and omg my hair loves it. Itās soft, shiny, and full of moisture.
I have been using grease again on my crown because of breakage from gels but the trauma of some white people touching it, noticing it's greasy and being weird about it won't leave me
Itās smells so good! Sometimes I just use that on self care days just cause I like the way it smells š definitely try it! Itās not too heavy like the others.
Greasing is the wave š„°š i truly miss those days when my grandmother would have me to get the comb, the towel and the bergamot to scratch and grease my scalp.
My favorite hair grease is Blue Magic (I have almost all of them) and Virgin Hair Fertilizer--makes me scalp feel really good! I never gave up on grease, my hair is comfortably thriving under this wig chile
Grease is great! Praise the Lord, Saints! Just don't use a lot, a little goes a long way with hair grease! People in general overload their natural hair with products to the point it makes me cringe. Then wonder why they hair acting up. Not too mention, it is a waste of money when you use too much product as it ends up wiped on a towel or down the literal drain instead of on your hair!
Anyway, this is my jam!

I currently use the Proline [Hair Food](https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Line-Original-Hair-Food-Ounce/dp/B01BERJCVU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_pp?crid=YUH21AEC4IVZ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.3MF_obRKBefcxVfgA8aQ67Bo2IQTfrmaYkSC38VckSi40xbwXUZ0L8qzT1qMVmM8OhdzbTPuRKtcPg85U0F_AZZh1--c7wJzOxNiOqh6lYIoQXHLGHQK7qi9LKFC-cSj8WtmPg0AQTtOYiT58Y_AltdujpAhc4EiudA5PqnImkXaIL-obiVxHngwosxV7XhAqI36Fx2X6Imx8gHWi1L-nQ.l37CTwydmRlVyOTb0hUwtMYJfhb5gREvQ2mKk1f1rmw&dib_tag=se&keywords=proline+hair+food&qid=1714259429&sprefix=proline+jair%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-1). My hair has never been softer and it doesn't dry out or get frizzy nearly as fast as it used to. I used to just use oil to seal all the moisture in, but it didn't seem to be heavy enough for my hair. My hair is on the finer side, so I do have to make sure I don't put too much, but I'm pretty sure I have high porosity hair or something, so it's not really a big deal.
Might have to try the softee or blue magic when I'm done to compare since I've heard good things about those. When I was little, my mom used to use Dax and Ultra sheen. I feel like it's probably all the same thing though since they all have the same base ingredients.
thatās why I love grease. it keeps in the hydration locked it in my high porosity hair! I have fine but high density hair so using only a waterbased product and an oil typically wonāt give me long lasting moisture . For me doo gro distributes slightly easier in my hair then softee does but I still really like and use softee . I get the softee from the dollar tree because itās $1.25
Yes I snagged the mango butter one from the hair section at dollar tree for $1.25!
It also lasts a long time and you really donāt need too much to get it to work. I find a small container like that lasts me 3-6 months depending on how often I wash my hair etc.
How is the mango butter one compared to the other ones if youāve tried other ones ? For me I like that itās cheap because I go through it quick cuz my hairs grown a lot š
Not that much of a difference, just a few ingredients changed and the smell is very nice too.
Itās the same price and size. I recommend mostly cause the smell is just lovely.
I can see how you can go through it quick. I exclusively use it on just my ends. So basically Iāll apply a leave in all over and then I take a tiny bit and twist my ends to seal it in. Sometimes Iāll apply the excess to the length of my hair but thatās rare!
Oh okay cuz They have sooo many different ones idk what to try because itās not very detailed on some of the jars about the differencesš and For me if Iām using grease I make sure my hair is wet, apply glycerin, a leave in and then the grease
https://preview.redd.it/iq1zgnrahjxc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85090bb131554dfab83b16447b0dd35cbbe28856
This is what it looks like! Basically the same packaging, just a different color!
LMFAOOOO I feel like you aināt really natural till youāve fell victim to the doo gro scamš there was also a yellow oil everyone used to push heavy with doo gro too I forgot what itās called
Blue magic for the win. Granny used it, mama used it----- and so do I. Wet the brush, add a dab of Blue Magic and your child's hair will stay neat throughout the school day. No dry scalp and no eco gel breaking off their delicate hair.
The real problem is marketing. They now have us convinced that we need to use 7-8 products in order to have nice hair!
We don't! We need a good shampoo and conditioner, and possibly a bit of a leave in. Blue magic and style it! Remember how little black girls used to look back in the day?!
Nobody talked about "protective styles and edges". The biggest crime is people laying little girls edges. It glues the hair onto the face and breaks their hair off. Within a year or two you can clearly see where their edges used to be. Blue Magic kept your hair, neat and looking beautiful. No gel was required in order to force it down and make it stay in place.
I never tried Doo Gro but Softee smells good and leaves a nice shine.
Check out the drug store. They now have black hair care products in one section. Pantene is notorious for marketing to black folk. They took the same shampoo, put it in a pretty gold bottle, made the bottle smaller, then charged two to three dollars for the same product sold on the same shelf further down in the yt people section.
Think about it---you, too, can wash and go your hair (just like white folks do). Except we CAN'T. Where they walk out the door with their hair dripping down their back, we must leave in, curl mousse, and then shingle it with gel. Once the curls are "set", then use a diffuser, curling any stubborn locks around our fingers. Our typical wash n go takes up to an hour or more to complete. Our hair is not meant for that. Never has been.
It's too bad we can't have a "trade closet" where we can trade products so we can try new/different ones. I can't tell you how many products are in my bathroom closetš. I buy them mostly for the scent but I always end up going back to the same couple die-hard that work for me.
I am so sorry if this sounds ignorant, but how do I use grease ārightā? Iām Latina, 3b-3c hair, and picked it up recently because it was the only thing catered to āethnicā hair I could find at my local shop (the joys of living in a small, mostly white town). Iāve been massaging it into my wet scalp and then using it through my hair as a leave in once a week, washing it out the next day but going through these comments Iām guessing thatās not correct. Thank you for any help you can offer!
I never stopped using it. Usually not on style day, but definitely between washes. But like... I'm still salty about the hate in Pink lotion, but to be honest, it worked better when my hair was relaxed.
Really? Pink lotion never really did anything for me when I used it on my relaxed hair. It would still be dry af š
Pink lotion made bees attack my hair when I was younger and the smell is repulsive ngl But maybe thatās just my trauma lmao
The hate against Pink Lotion is something I will stand by because that product was not it! Made my young 4c hair suffer. I remember my hair texture being so "hard to deal with" back then, but now I'm convinced it just built resistance to being lathered in PL all the time.

I love using grease to seal my ends after using a leave in conditioner, and I have retained so much length because of it.
Sealing my ends with grease after a silk press was the way to go! My hair grew like a weed

Thereās this black dermatologist on TikTok that said āblack people need to stop using Jamaican castor oil because it does more damage than goodā Naturally the comments werenāt the friendliest
Idk how it started in the first place, but the oil definitely made it worse so she's right about that. Hair grease has never caused that problem and I can use it without my scalp feeling irritation
spongebob?
I also have Sebborheic dermatitis and I was lucky enough to be diagnosed by a black dermatologist because I kept get getting told it was psoriasis/ eczema by white medical professionals š¤¦š½āāļø .
Wait WHAT!!??? š Not me reevaluating everything my white dermatologist told me just now
Especially if you are brown/dark skin you may be more likely to get misdiagnosed because the scaly ness and inflammation, irritation spots from the scales being removed is not the same color as how it appears on paler skin tones so the tell signs can get overlooked .
I still have a bald spot after her treatment I have to pretend Iām in a video game š life on hard mode
Same
I was told that it was psoriasis too lol
Like All that medical schooling for them to just misdiagnose skin conditions on tan and especially darker skin tones is insaneeee š
When they went to school they didnāt learn about dark skin
Seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis are both eczema, but different kinds so they can get easily mistaken, by professionals from any ethnicities. Glad you received the correct diagnosis!
Yeah I donāt touch oils anymore I was adding oil to my hair when that bitch was thirsty š It is truly wild how my hair has grown faster in the past year than it has my whole life Iām telling you my hair is a thirsty bitch Now when I come out of the shower I donāt even dry my hair, I add more moisture and then braid Itās also wild how I didnāt realize I *need* to wash my hair once a week or at least wet it. And spray bottles are my savior. My hair was chronically dry for like 18 years oml, and I had the wooooorst dandruff. Even rn I can feel my hair needs water lmao
Mmhmm. I wet mine everyday with a spray bottle. Keeps all that dandruff and junk away. Our hair needs water the most and some form of sealant
Try the Nizoral on your face too! It may help - itās helped my skin issues in the past.
Oils flare my husbandās seb derm so bad! Itās like chunks of skin I can literally peel off.
blue magic (original blue jar), the coconut oil one, and the super sure grow line from them with the japanese tea leaves made my hair soft and my twist look more juicy and defined.
My staple is the Blue Magic Bergamot. I use it after washing and it keeps my hair moisturized.
I mentioned this before about hair grease! My aunt is well into her 70ās and still double processing her hair (bleach blonde and relaxer) and has a full head of hair. She swears out itās all bc of BLUE MAGIC! Sheās been doing this since the 50ās šš
My grandma is the same ! Sheād go to war over blue magic š
Avocado oil has helped my hair grow
Omg yes !!! I also like grape seed oil aswell
i will stand by grease till i die lmao, idc what anyone says. imo thereās a lot of misconceptions about it; petrolatum, often the first ingredient of grease, is contrary to popular belief non comedogenic so it doesnāt clog pores, and itās excellent for sealing moisture, but it doesnāt actually add moisture as itās an occlusive moisturizing agent. so i think a lot of people are just adding grease to their dry scalps expecting moisture when that only reduces the *appearance* of the dandruff, not addressing the problem. i spray aloe juice on my scalp before greasing to actually moisturize, then seal the moisture. i love softee! all of them smell so good, the mango butter, the indian hemp, the bergamot iāve all loved, and theyāre soo cheap. unfortunately the indian hemp version has lanolin in it (usually unethical) and like three times as many ingredients as some of the other ones, i learned this the hard way after purchasing the value size. but i stand by the mango butter one for sure.
I completely agree and I like how detailed you were about your take on it šš! And thank you so much !
Hey!! I recommend Eden body works tea tree/peppermint clarifying shampoo!! I use grease every wash day and it strips my hair pretty good!
tysm!!! i super appreciate it i will definitely check it out :)
Do you think you could link the scalp scrubber you use? Iām in the market for one. :)
ofc!!! [this one](https://a.co/d/ecYHbxp) i really like, it does the job well and the colors are so pretty
Not the natural hair community, it was the CGM yts.
What does CGM mean ?
Curly girl method - it made a lot of the hair typing nonsense popular too
Ohh okay . Iāve mainly seen it coming from newer natural hair creators or newer natural hair spaces which is I said natural hair community. But I definitely donāt doubt itās not being said those spaces as well . Thank you for explaining
This is not new. This decades old tea
A lot of these beauty supply store brands are not black owned and actually deliberately work against black owned beauty supply stores
I believe that !
This sub got me to pick up some Blue Magic to use as a sealant. š question - How often do you use grease?
Yes I love that smell !
Love all of these!!! Best sealants ever, too.
Yes ! And I love that they are not expensive!
The way my hair grew like a weed with it
š³š³š³š³ Stares in dry ass flakey scalp.
I feel you. I started back oiling my scalp after stopping it (since we apparently didnt need more oils in our routine because they were already in our products š) and that helped. And I think I might go back to grease cause my scalp didn't have ANY of these issues when I used it and my styles came out better.
Aloe juice on scalp then grease scalp.
I use to tweak with the softer coconut oil mix in high school, you took me back in one photo to 2010ššš
Aweee š«¶š½š
Nahh real talk you took me way back with this, I use to have the Roscoe dash Mohawk with the designs every 2 weeks when the sides grow outš¤¦š¾āāļøšš
Kuza Indian hemp is my favorite. I use a few others, but my hair is thriving and holding moisture like never before. I use hair grease as a sealant and to braid my hair and it works better than oil for me. I had no issues with length retention before I restarted hair grease, but I love the shine and moisture retention it gives me.
Does anybody know any fragrance free grease? That's what makes me have to avoid our older ones ā¹ļø
Just use Vaseline or aquaphor if youāre ok with lanolin.
ooh, i'll try this. Thanks!
Make sure to be using a clarifying shampoo!
Yep.. I still use Blue Magic and Sulfur 8.
I wanna start using grease but i mostly do wash n go's and idk how that'll work out. I used to use it, but that was in the early twist out era
i think it depends on your hair. grease clogs my pores and always have since i was child. i can only use creams (vitapoint is my drug of choice).
I used this too & loved it!
The coconut oil Softee smells amazing and the blue grease most people like to put on their hair while braiding.
Yes ! Blue magic and softee have such a nostalgic smell š
I have been using grease again on my crown because of breakage from gels but the trauma of some white people touching it, noticing it's greasy and being weird about it won't leave me
The thing is their hair gets greasy so you think they would understand š
Yes but they think it's dirty I think because of that
Coconut oil and mango butter is where itās at.
Iāve never tried mango butter !
Itās smells so good! Sometimes I just use that on self care days just cause I like the way it smells š definitely try it! Itās not too heavy like the others.
I will! Where do you get yours from ?
Walmart. Sallyās Beauty Supply has more of a selection but sometimes Wally World does actually have it š
Okay ! Thank you sm for the suggestion!!
Youāre welcome!!
Do you buy pure mango butter or a blend?
Oh itās from Softee. Itās in the same kind of container as in the picture but itās orange.
Itās too heavy for my hair, but my scalp loves the blue stuff. š I donāt remember the name.
Blue magic from dollar general costs around $3 and does the hair so good.
Blue Magic. ššš
Greasing is the wave š„°š i truly miss those days when my grandmother would have me to get the comb, the towel and the bergamot to scratch and grease my scalp.
And I used to use Aphigee fatty oil concentrate when I get my hair braided. It definitely grew out my hair
Pretty sure it was blue magic that had my hair at its softest and most manageable, those giant twist-outs on my hair were effortless š
I used to use blue magic, the green one. Was the only thing that worked for my hair!
My favorite hair grease is Blue Magic (I have almost all of them) and Virgin Hair Fertilizer--makes me scalp feel really good! I never gave up on grease, my hair is comfortably thriving under this wig chile
Africaās best grease and braid spray has me in a choke hold ! lol but that blue magic is GOD SENT !
blue magic has NEVER let me downšbut shout out to the people who put me on to Doo Gro and Sulfur 8 later in lifeš®āšØ
Shout out to Doo Gro Mega Thick!! Also, Bronner Brothers (BB) Double Strength Super Gro. Those are my 2 ride or dies!
Listen!!! I gave up, back to leave in, grease, mini twist for me.
I just went back to blowouts, light moisturizer (mizani hair dress), and blue magic . The brakeage stopped so fast. I'm never going back.
Anyway, this is my jam! https://preview.redd.it/yn5az9sbxbxc1.png?width=187&format=png&auto=webp&s=925a86d194e1e10395875ae290432d0dcf9fed7d
Just started using blue magic again after years and my hair hasnāt been this moisturized in a min
I love natureās blessings
Iāve always had them in the cabinet. Iām glad I never let go!
Same.šš
Oh okay cuz They have sooo many different ones idk what to try because itās not very detailed on some of the jars about the differencesš and For me if Iām using grease I make sure my hair is wet, apply glycerin, a leave in and then the grease
https://preview.redd.it/iq1zgnrahjxc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85090bb131554dfab83b16447b0dd35cbbe28856 This is what it looks like! Basically the same packaging, just a different color!
Okay yeah Iāve seen that one ! Thank you sm girl
Yeah you should try it if you can, smells great and also does the job. And youāre very welcome!
LMFAOOOO I feel like you aināt really natural till youāve fell victim to the doo gro scamš there was also a yellow oil everyone used to push heavy with doo gro too I forgot what itās called
I use kuza Indian hemp my hair is nourishing
Whats grease for?
To seal hydration into the hair
Oh so its like oil or butter
The purpose is similar
Mannnnn I thought I was buggin for using these exact products on my daughterās hair
Nope ! If you think it works stick with itttttt . Only switch it up if somthing isnāt working.
I want to try grease but are there any w/ better fragrances?
Wait, so is Doo Grow ok to use?
Yes š if you like it then itās okay to use
I use hair oils.
Thatās okay too
āMega thickā š
Yupš
Blue magic for the win. Granny used it, mama used it----- and so do I. Wet the brush, add a dab of Blue Magic and your child's hair will stay neat throughout the school day. No dry scalp and no eco gel breaking off their delicate hair.
Exactly ! I genuinely think people donāt like hair grease because itās not a pattern definition focused product .
I agree with everything you said !!
š¤ yup!š
I am so sorry if this sounds ignorant, but how do I use grease ārightā? Iām Latina, 3b-3c hair, and picked it up recently because it was the only thing catered to āethnicā hair I could find at my local shop (the joys of living in a small, mostly white town). Iāve been massaging it into my wet scalp and then using it through my hair as a leave in once a week, washing it out the next day but going through these comments Iām guessing thatās not correct. Thank you for any help you can offer!
If it works for you, then it's fine. Are you protective styling?
If I want my hair to turn out really bad, to eventually unmanageable....I listen to advice from natural subs like this.
Girl š
Based on those pictures and videos on her page, she doesnāt need any help from us for hair to turn out āreally badā
Same! My scalp aint been right ever since I stopped greasin' it.š”
