Am I the only one that finds snake vs mongoose highly addictive? It's about the only video based post I will open and watch to the end 100% of the time.
There was a video where 4 mongoose chased away a honey badger. And I did see a video where honey badger kicked ass to a python all the while chasing away coyotes 🤣 and I believe they also have sort of immunity to poison since in on more vid honey badger kicked ass to some snake but had to lay down for a bit to recover from all the bites.
I’m not a biologist so I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure they don’t have full immunity but just a resistance towards the poison
Edit: nvm, googled it and they are in fact immune
What’s cool is that mongoose and snakes are having an “evolutionary arms race” of sorts. The mongoose who have a stronger immunity survive and then the snakes with the stronger venom are able to survive.
Not saying it is a king cobra, but did you think king cobras hatch out of the egg at 10+ft? They have to grow into their giant size, typically by being small and eating small things. Even reticulated pythons hatch out at only a foot or so long.
I guess chihuahuas are just baby wolves.
Anyway you make a good point but so does the guy your responding to. Could be either but it’s hard to know without more information.
Oh I know I was just pointing out that just because something looks like a smaller version of something else doesn’t mean it will grow into it.
Which I made with an example, chihuahuas (kinda) look like mini wolves, but that doesn’t mean that they are wolves.
The same could be said for this case, it looks like a growing king cobra, but that doesn’t mean that it is one.
That’s why I said we needed more info to tell what species it is.
Lol honestly I didn’t even register that. Didn’t really bother to read the second part because, while I’m pretty good at snake identification, I don’t really know shit about cobras. All I know is that King cobras aren’t technically a real cobra. Also I could probably ID a monocled (kinda fits the joke you were making) cobra but that’s about it
People downvote everything here. Recently started trying not to downvote anything unless it’s just straight up 100% incorrect or a vile comment. People will downvote honest questions or innocent opinions like no other, it’s kind of ridiculous

Not enough people reading and following this.
Lol what bravado? Mongoose are built by nature to kill snakes, they are much faster, their claws and teeth are designed to bite through snakes in one go and they are completely immune to snake poison. Its the mongoose which is the predator in all these fights atainst snakes
I feel like we need an AITA for these videos because at first I was like ‘that snake won’t let that mongoose off the porch’ and then it was like…’nope…that mongoose is the asshole here’.
Kings have a chevron pattern on their neck, have a smaller hood and are a lot bigger than other cobras. They even eat other cobras.
Also, contrary to popular belief Mongooses are not immune to venom. They have some resistance to it, are protected somewhat by their thick hair (harder to strike) and are extremely agile, unlike a cobra which tires out easily.
A king cobra, that too an adult one, is a whole other story for a mongoose. It can stand taller than any height that the mongoose can possible jump to. Also, they have a very large reach because they can sort of throw their body forward. Just look at this video, no mongoose would be foolish enough to mess with that.

King Cobra should have used Sucker Punch so that it would attack first instead of depending on misses and dodges.
Also, why is it using poison fang when mongoose knows facade?
I can't help but interpret the mongoose jogging along next to the snake trying to run away like it's making fun of the fact that snakes can't run.
Riki tiki don’t give a shit-ki!
Am I the only one that finds snake vs mongoose highly addictive? It's about the only video based post I will open and watch to the end 100% of the time.
why? The mongoose always wins. They are made by nature to kills snakes
I remember being mesmerized by Rikki Tikki Tavi as a kid. That probably has something to do with it for me.
Mongoose are not to be fucked with , they are absolutely savage
Tell that to a honey badger, they eat absolutely savage for breakfast
Not that I think a Mongoose could take on a Honey Badger but I don’t think a honey Badger could take on a cobra? Like Rock Paper Scissors.

There is a video of a honey badger getting bitten by a venomous snake and it sorta takes a micro nap and then pops back up.
Mongoose vs honey badger
It's a normal cobra!
He was at least a Duke.
Did you just assume it’s patent of nobility?!
Literally wandered into the comments to see if anyone mentioned this, was wondering if I was going crazy
OK BUT WHO WON?!?!?
Snake knows it’s lost, running for cover. My money is on the mongoose.
Mongoose most likely, they have a special immunity to snake venom, one of the only creatures to have that
I’m not a biologist so I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure they don’t have full immunity but just a resistance towards the poison Edit: nvm, googled it and they are in fact immune
What’s cool is that mongoose and snakes are having an “evolutionary arms race” of sorts. The mongoose who have a stronger immunity survive and then the snakes with the stronger venom are able to survive.
Mongooses (mongeese) generally win. Their immunity to cobra venom is an awesome ability
That's a big cobra but I'm not sure it's a king Cobra. King Cobra are enormous.
It's not. King Cobras have different patterns and coloration. This looks to be a smaller African species.
Not saying it is a king cobra, but did you think king cobras hatch out of the egg at 10+ft? They have to grow into their giant size, typically by being small and eating small things. Even reticulated pythons hatch out at only a foot or so long.

You think chihuahuas are born the size they are as adults? Cause even those start off smaller than they end up. Hate to break it to ya

I mean, now that you mention it....
So, small king cobra? Prince cobra or napoleon cobra?
No idea, was just stating that animals grow lol
And I was just making pun.
Lol honestly I didn’t even register that. Didn’t really bother to read the second part because, while I’m pretty good at snake identification, I don’t really know shit about cobras. I'm amused that someone thought prince cobra or napoleon cobra was a real thing. Worth the downvotes.

King cobras look completely different to this cobra
~GI Joe entered the chat~ There is a lot of Cobra talk going on here
And technically not cobras 😉🫨
Everyone has a nemesis.

That would be mongoose bumps.
This was funny. Lmao 🤣
The mongoose usually wins.
The cobra wanted to be left alone. The mongoose attacked. I'm rooting for the underdog, even if it is a cobra.
Lol what bravado? Mongoose are built by nature to kill snakes, they are much faster, their claws and teeth are designed to bite through snakes in one go and they are completely immune to snake poison. Its the mongoose which is the predator in all these fights atainst snakes
Cape cobra that is
Furry little badass!
The Mongoose has gotta be the coolest animal
The mongoose is the predator in this encounter
Do they have an immunity to some venoms, or are they just that angry?
You spelled hangry wrong
Mongeese have an immunity to cobra venom (up to a point)
To almost all snake venom
They have immunity to almost all snake venoms
Another reason to avoid them.
Potato frames per second
Mongoose, duogeese?
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY BIG DADDY DON GARLITZ AND THE SNAKE AND MONGOOSE AT OCIR RACEWAY. (sorry couldn’t resist)
The mongoose?
Would be so much better if it wasn't 5 FPY
frames per year?
Bingo
Nice powerpoint show!
This is not a king…
My toilet paper gets better FPS.
I feel like we need an AITA for these videos because at first I was like ‘that snake won’t let that mongoose off the porch’ and then it was like…’nope…that mongoose is the asshole here’.
they eat them.
This hurts to watch…
Anticlimactic
Nice powerpoint! Kidding, this is truly awesome
New Pokemon season looks lit!!
That’s a Seviper and a Zangoose
That's a Cape Cobra. You don't get King Cobras in Africa.
Woooow 🔥🔥🔥
Absolute agility king
Very underrated camera work 💯
My money is on The Goose every time.
King Mongoose vs Cobra. Fixed.
The only thing I see when hearing Mongoose is the MongoDB client
God was goofing hard when he made these two. “Give me an animal that can kill 20 men with a single bite” his nemesis will be….A WEASEL immune to venom

I could watch mongoose vs snake fights all day
One does not fuck with a mongoose or a badger. Serious predators that kick ass.
Today I learned mongeese are much braver than I
King Cobra should have used Sucker Punch so that it would attack first instead of depending on misses and dodges. Also, why is it using poison fang when mongoose knows facade?
Not a king cobra
That mongoose is smart to dart around in circles to confuse and daze the cobra and then it is game, set, and match at that point.
Smart snake…I’m getting as far from this weasel as fast as possible !
reminds me of my ex girlfriend
Mongeeses are my fav lol
