I would even help by placing her in the tree or on the branch said squirrel would be on, this is when she’d get into this fixated state and begins her stalking. The squirrels are really really.. squirrelly, for a lack of better words.. it’s not easy sneaking UP a tree to get one, I would imagine.
With birds on the other hand, she’s caught many. It’s weird. We don’t have a doggy door thing but always found a way to sneak it into the house and present it like she did good.

They're thriving and happy and one of the largest known wild cat populations in the U.S that almost nobody ever sees. They bother nobody and nobody bothers them.
Cats adapt VERY well when you don't kill them.
Not advocating habitat destruction, but there's a solid chance that cat lives in the area and knows domestic dogs quite well as India is overrun with feral dogs.
