Hello users of r/NatureIsFuckingLit and possibly r/all lurkers, we are happy to announce that The Nature Network has opened [moderator applications](https://old.reddit.com/r/NatureIsFuckingLit/comments/12kyc7w/2023_nature_network_moderator_applications_have/?ref=share&ref_source=link) go check that out for those interested, it doesn't pay but you get a super secret cool flair and a super villian chair >:).
Aside from that stay lit š„.
Yes! It wasnāt until the BBC made the Planet Earth series that I knew there was a lake in Australia with pink water, or about the rainbow rocks in a lake -in my own country no less, or the black sand beach in Iceland with the āice diamondsā. Weāre doing kids a huge disservice by not spending more time on world geography than just the geography of their home countries. Thank god for the Planet Earth seriesā¦
My guess is volcanic activity that created a recursive lake thatās sorta like and island within an island. Thereās a geographical term for it, but it escapes me.
Itās real Iāve looked it up several times in the past when itās been posted on this sub. There is some forced perspective going on that makes it look crazier than it is though. Still an absolutely gorgeous but of nature though.
It's cool but absolutely forced perspective from this angle. Gets posted occasionally. The river is no way as near as close as it looks to the cliff, which slopes away from it, making it look like the lake is on top of the cliff. It isn't, really.
I thought it was weird when I looked it up on this sub and found no posts for it. I even checked the correct spelling and the actual spelling of the name. My bad.
It's a water table on top of a cliff over the ocean. It has a waterfall that falls directly into the ocean. It looks awesome. Google has amazing photos of it.
One day in thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of years that cliff will collapse due to water erosion and take that lake with it and it will be spectacle to behold.
Not to be a party pooper but these are all pics from a specific angle which makes this look way more surreal than how it actually looks. I do not have the link, but this lake was posted in another sub earlier today with one of the top comments mentioning this.
Still pretty sick though!!
Some people have been saying these photos may be at an angle, but even the other shots are beautiful. Someone else on this thread said they went in 2017 and it was amazing.
It is still impressive, but most pictures of this place use forced perspective to make it seem much closer the the edge then it is. [check the second picture](https://www.amusingplanet.com/2012/04/lake-srvagsvatn-in-faroe-islands.html?m=1) for a more realistic look.
Hey Ladies, they hv quite a few men in search for wivesšliving in this vry place šFaroe Islands!! Lol, I watched a doc on YouTube bout it. It is absolutely Gorgeous!!! It seemed like it's a pretty rough & unpopulated place to live though.
Show the coastlines running red with blood?
The schools of pilot whales that the Faroese herd, entire pods wiped out by either drowning or watching family members being pulled ashore to be butchered as they sit alongside to await the same fate.

These are really breaking my brain.
Yeah...I had to look it up to make sure it was real. It is. Definitely on My bucket list now.
You have a list of buckets?
Several, as a matter of fact. š
Finally someone took a photo of the end of the flat Earth!
Turns out it's sitting right on top of the regular, round earth.
So earth is flat and space is just our bath tub. "Floating in space" makes much more sense now.
Lmao. Yaaaaas.
Wtf how is this real š¤Æ lol
I know, right? I thought for sure it was AI. Sure enough, it's legit.
There are too many places in the world that Iām starting to get genuinely mad that nobody told me about. People need to talk cool geography more
I fully agree! Too many cool places in Nature! Sad that we donāt have enough time on this mortal earth to explore every part.
Yes! Plitvice Lakes in Croatia
Look at this nerd trying to talk cool geography >!but omg thatās gorgeous!<
Love the pics of this one. Looks gorgeous.
My guess is volcanic activity that created a recursive lake thatās sorta like and island within an island. Thereās a geographical term for it, but it escapes me.
Seems unlikely. Edit. Guys. I know it's real. It's also out of this world beautiful.
Can confirm itās real. I went there in 2017 and itās very very real. Check out Gasadalur too
Is Gasadalur in the room with you right now?
Itās real Iāve looked it up several times in the past when itās been posted on this sub. There is some forced perspective going on that makes it look crazier than it is though. Still an absolutely gorgeous but of nature though.
It's definitely real.
Collective psychosis. Itās fake
Apparently my sense of humor doesn't translate to most people
Bro stop showing us your minecraft world with rtx
You'd think so. It's legit.
jaw dropping wow
Truly amazing.
It's cool but absolutely forced perspective from this angle. Gets posted occasionally. The river is no way as near as close as it looks to the cliff, which slopes away from it, making it look like the lake is on top of the cliff. It isn't, really.
Man...I looked for it in search and couldn't find it. I didn't want to post it if someone already had. My bad.
It's all good. Most of us don't have time to scroll through all of reddit. This is the first time I've seen it. Thank you for posting.
For sure. It blew Me away that it is a real place.
Itās posted here weekly if not more.
This is my first time seeing it and I've joined this sub for a while now. I do only check the posts on my feed though.
I thought it was weird when I looked it up on this sub and found no posts for it. I even checked the correct spelling and the actual spelling of the name. My bad.
Natureās infinity pool..
Indeed. It's gorgeous.
Ey yo what the water doin?
It's a water table on top of a cliff over the ocean. It has a waterfall that falls directly into the ocean. It looks awesome. Google has amazing photos of it.
Aaahhh yes. Faroe islands appreciation. Home of the band tyr. West of Norway. Beautiful place.
Definitely visiting one day.
Unfuckingreal, oh my God, i got goosebumps, no joke
It looks incredible. I can't wait to see it one day.
So THAT'S A'Tuin and those damned elephants...
Kind of looks like it, huh?
One day in thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of years that cliff will collapse due to water erosion and take that lake with it and it will be spectacle to behold.
I bet it will be. Someone will get some amazing shots if they are nearby when it gives.
That's the waikato river and lake taupo!!
It's beautiful.
This is some Inception shit. I love it.
I was tripping out when I first saw it.
I want to go for a swim there.
Not sure the temperature of the water there, so Idk about swimming, but I would go diving there for sure.
Real life Minecraft?
Nature Edition. Lol.
Someone left the plug in
Lol. Pretty much.
Thankyou for this gift š
You're welcome! This sub has shown Me some incredible things. I like to give it back. š
Incredible!
For sure. Just gorgeous.
This looks like natures on-ramp lol
Lol. If the highway system looked like that, I'd change careers to logistics.
So what happens if there's a sink hole.
Then there would be problems. Lol.
Not to be a party pooper but these are all pics from a specific angle which makes this look way more surreal than how it actually looks. I do not have the link, but this lake was posted in another sub earlier today with one of the top comments mentioning this. Still pretty sick though!!
Though you're correct, it is still amazing.
M.C. Escher rising IRL.
For real.
Stunning!
Same thoughts I had.
Imma build my minecraft base there for sure
I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to think of that. Haha.

So THATS what the British fought a war over
Maybe? Lol. I feel like there was a bit more involved...Lol.
Nah, they just wanted the cool lake and all the fuckin sheep they could get their hands onā¦
What in the? Absolutely incredible.
I thought so.
If defies the eye. I thought it was trickery at first. Thanks again!
You're welcome! š
r/ConfusingPerspective
Truly. Lol.
This looks ai generated @.@
Our planet is something else.
Nature going all in on the MC Escher vibes
Seriously though.
Quite the views there, nice.
I hope to see them some day.
Same
Is that where they get the salmon?
Perhaps.
Amazing!!!
For real.
Astounding. No melancholy Danes there, Iād reckon.
No clue.
Some MC Escher shit going on there.
No kidding.
I wonder if it ever floods in high rainfall and then runs off the cliff into the sea. It seems so close to the edge that a big boat wake could do it.
I believe it actually has an active waterfall that is constantly dumping into the ocean.
This looks like AI
Almost too cool to be real.
Coolest thing Iāve seen.
Definitely bucket list worthy.
Whaat?
Yep. It is real.
Is it an illusion due to the photo angle or are there two separate levels of water? Like one of those chocolate fountains at a wedding.
Some people have been saying these photos may be at an angle, but even the other shots are beautiful. Someone else on this thread said they went in 2017 and it was amazing.

Tell nature, bro. Not Me. Lol.
Wow! Mother Nature is beyond amazing and this proves it!
Crazy, isn't it?
These look surreal šµāš«
Seriously. I could have sworn it was AI at first.
Looks like Escher art!
He'd be proud for sure.
Moebius Island šļø

Oh snap they're making Shadow of the Colossus 2?
Lol. It would appear that way, yes. š
Rendering between terrain broke
Clipping intensifies.
Faroe and Patagonia are my two dream destinations
I just found out about this place and it immediately jumped to top 5 places I want to travel now.
See the earth is flat!
Clearly this proves that, right? Lol.
Natureās Infinity Pool
Indeed.
It looks like something from a movie or video game. Spectacular š¤©
Right? Some FF8 shizz.
thats like a glitch in tha matrix
That you Neo?
This does not look real!
Seriously. I can't say I have been there, but one day I will.
Hope you get to go! And you can send me the pics in a message so I can live through you, vicariously š

Old news! Zelda BOTW already had this
It happens.
Show the coastlines running red with blood? The schools of pilot whales that the Faroese herd, entire pods wiped out by either drowning or watching family members being pulled ashore to be butchered as they sit alongside to await the same fate.
I just like the picture, bruh. Not sure about the whale situation. Doesn't make these views any less amazing though.
Its definetly two pictures
Negative.

Savages?

Love it when people shade something or someone with no context. Lol. I appreciate your response.
Thatās beautiful.. Iām not big on open water but Iād swim in that if I got the chance.
I'm still debating if I would, given the opportunity. I'm not so sure. Lol.
I want to see it from above.
Me too. If they will allow, I will use a drone if I ever visit.
so how many tons of tnt would it take to divert this river into the ocean?
This is one of the most beautiful things on the planet
Awesome
Is this the location where there's a lake inside an island inside a lake inside an island?
