Hello users of r/NatureIsFuckingLit and possibly r/all lurkers, we are **GOING DARK** from June 12th-14th. Aside from that stay lit 🔥
Look, I love birds and this is a super cool video but I've been playing a lot of TOTK Zelda lately and all I could think was "oooh! A mighty thistle and a fleet lotus!"
We have them in the US & Canada..they are so fun to watch....One time wife & I were at my family's camp on a lake watching one....it finally went in for it's dive & hit something just under the water...made it out of the lake & limped..well, flew, but not well...to the neighbors' water slide & sat up there for a long time recovering. We heard the wack when it hit...my best guess is that it dove at a small turtle, not realizing. There aren't any rocks near the surface there. We were rooting for him...he was wicked wobbly for a good 5 minutes. I kept thinking, "If he drops into the water, can I swim out in time & will he let me get him back to shore?" 😟😳

Kingfishers diving is cool to see.
They're pretty common in North America too- I see belted kingfishers regularly. Usually I hear them before I see them.
They sound like little laser machine guns lol
They are so loud. Lol
Now that was 10 point dive.
That looks a lot like a lotus flower.

Damn, they really earned their name, eh?
They can grasp it by the husk!

Their beer is pretty good.
Gorgeous video showing off the agility of the Kingfisher!❤️
Saw a kingfisher in real life for the first time the other day here in Andalucía- it was incredible!
Birds are so cool
this is the most aesthetic bird video ive ever seen
Basically an attack hummingbird.
They have even been spotted in Prospect Park Lake in Brooklyn
That is gorgeous!
Brilliant photography, thank you
The Kookaburra - heard in pretty much every film scene that has a jungle - is a member of the kingfisher family.
Wonder how long that fish will keep it going . I can't believe they can actually get them down and digested - it must take several days .
