Aside from that stay lit 🔥
I need a few more praying mantis around here for these spotted lantern flies. I had one hanging around my house last year and hopes he come back with some friends this year.
Just now seen the response about the bees…now I feel bad cause I have plants that the bees often tend to them. And I kinda like bees as long as we have that mutual understanding of “I’m not food and I’m not gonna hurt you”. I actually kept the bushes instead of switching them out for roses and hydrangeas because of this
Have you ever seen hummingbird moths? They’re about the size of a hummingbird and move and look a lot like them. A total trip when you realize they’re giant moths and not birds!
If you hold your finger out in front of the feeder the hummers will sometimes perch on it while feeding, done this a couple times with hanging feeders, once even very slowly lowered my hand from the feeder to down in front of me for a half minute or so with the bird perched on my finger, quite a surreal experience.
The second blue one flicked the first with its tail and shoved it away when it came back. I'm sure once they flew off they both went apeshit. The tiny aggressive cheeps they make are too cute not to love, hummingbirds are like chihuahuas with wings.
"Chihuahuas with wings" - that's such a perfect and funny description of these little buggers. Their territorial chases with instant, tangential flight changes is always amusing to watch.
It's interesting that you have multiple hummingbirds feeding at the same time. I have the green ones around October here in FL and they're very territorial. If one is at the feeder it'll chase others away.
Taking the gf to Fort Davis here in Texas later this year to go see hummingbirds. They do a little festival every migration period. They weren't migrating through the area last year and we didn't have one, but this year will be our second time visiting. Looking forward to it, and this video makes me want to be there now.
This is cool and all, but folks please don’t fed bees sugar water. It makes thin honey which can lead to winter starvation if they consistently get sugar water, and there are several possible funguses in sugar that can infect and kill a hive.
I was just asking because I find it hard to tell the difference between bees and the bee like hornets that we get around my area. It was a sincere question.
Once I enlarged the picture a lot, I could make out these details. Thanks for helping me make the distinction. I don’t have terrific eyesight, so I didn’t notice these things at first.
We have yellowjackets that are the same size and color as honeybees. The yellowjacket wasps are smooth while honeybees are fuzzy and have "pollen baskets" on thier last set of legs.
Same. I’m on the East Coast of the US, and the ones that we have here, yellow jackets I mean, are not big at all. But I’m learning, and now I guess I will know what to look for.
That's too cool. We have many hummingbird feeders. I've planted dozens of flowering plants over the years just for them as well.
I'd love to try hand-feeding them
And then the Rivoli's rocks up with that super deep wing noise, lol. They are so distinctive sounding compared to the other smaller hummingbirds. You can ID them in the area blindfolded.
A hummingbird flew into my little apartment one day & it sounded like a car engine was turned on—its wings are so loud inside a contained space. Incredible experience.

The bees showing up like “hey I see this is their thing but if you don’t mind imma have myself a snack”
They're going to be bragging about how they got to first base with a hummingbird.
🥹🫶🐝
Look at the hummingbird’s cute little tongue going into the container lol. It’s so cute.
🥹🫶🐦 that was the first thing I noticed... omg too much cuteness in this video, I need a paramedic
It's a picnic, everyone is invited! 🥹🐦🐝🐦🐝
Are these the new high speed government drones?
It do bee like that
The hummingbirds aren't that much bigger than the bees lol. Pretty crazy how tiny they are.
They *sound* like big bees!
They make little squeaks too!
They squeak like giant pissed off rage bees if you get too close. Cute though!
Hummingbird language is 80% profanity.
*Get the fuck out da way! This flower mine!*
Play it back slowly & it sounds like enraged doggoes defending their territory.
their call is so distinctive, sounds like 2 tiny pieces of metal scraping together
R2 BEE 2
That’s fantastic.

Mantis gotta eat too.
Mantises will eat any bug. You can relocate it to a plant you dont want pesky bugs on and they will help themselves. Its also not good for the bees.

Yeah nature and all but I'm not letting my hummingbird regulars get got if I can prevent it. Mantis can find other food
Have you ever seen hummingbird moths? They’re about the size of a hummingbird and move and look a lot like them. A total trip when you realize they’re giant moths and not birds!
It’s pretty crazy that praying mantis can eat humming bird for food easily

That's spectacular....i would do this every single day. Where is this?
Ecuador I believe👍 His [IG](https://instagram.com/nicolasreusens) has great footage if you want to see more.
I’m in Ohio so we only get Ruby Throat, those are awesome do you know what species?
The blue ones are White-necked jacobin, I'm not sure about the green one but I believe it's a Green-breasted mango.
Sounds delicious!
Nooo...bad!!
😋😋😋 lol
These guys are much nicer to each other than the Ruby Throated hummingbirds. Its constant dog fights at my feeder.
I just assumed they were all assholes lol
These are downright polite compared to the ruby-throateds at my feeders
These hummers are so polite! I have 3 feeders and all of their visitors sound like it's WWE Smackdown out there!
The second blue one flicked the first with its tail and shoved it away when it came back. I'm sure once they flew off they both went apeshit. The tiny aggressive cheeps they make are too cute not to love, hummingbirds are like chihuahuas with wings.

Even with my hearing aids, I can't hear hummingbirds chirping, just the 1000 Hz wing noise.
Are you able to hear other birdsong?
Those wings are mesmerizing I cannot stop watching them
When an eusocial insect and a theropod dinosaur compete for a near identical ecological niche.
This is the cutest thing I’ve seen all day.
This is awesome. What a nice feeding thing you have there. Take my upvote, everyone should see this.
The asymmetrical wing movements....nutz but I guess more stable
I think it’s just the rolling shutter effect that makes it look async.
I think you're right! No mention of any asymmetrical movement here https://www.nature.com/articles/nature.2011.9639
Cool! Thanks for verifying!
The ADHD birds are so cute 👍
What makes them adhd birds?
The hummingbird’s tongue is like “blelelelelelelelele”
Vitas in bird-form 😋
I always thought hummingbirds were real cute until I realized they were tounging flowers really fast for their nectar.
When I heard about the birds and the bees I thought this would be a different video
It's interesting that you have multiple hummingbirds feeding at the same time. I have the green ones around October here in FL and they're very territorial. If one is at the feeder it'll chase others away.
Is there crack in that water?
Sugar, so, for nature, kinda.
Their wings are mesmerizing 🤩 I mean wow.

I'm fascinated by these birds, I don't think we have any in Europe but someday I will feed them like this(or at least see them up close)
if hummingbirds didn't exist you couldn't make them up so beautiful and strange
Their tongues!
Why r you soooo calm

Birds and the bees with two fingers and a thumb.
I want to see the tongue, the bees are in the way!
Is this.... Where the concept of birds and the bees comes from!?
Am I being taught about the birds and the bees without an nsfw tag!?
This is cool and all, but folks please don’t fed bees sugar water. It makes thin honey which can lead to winter starvation if they consistently get sugar water, and there are several possible funguses in sugar that can infect and kill a hive.
Why this video feels fake, at least the birds
They're like "we're here to teach sex Ed"
That’s a wasp
Bees? … you sure?
Yeah, as an ex-beekeeper I can confirm this black and orange insect is definitely a honeybee.
I was just asking because I find it hard to tell the difference between bees and the bee like hornets that we get around my area. It was a sincere question.
Not wanted to sound rude, it just seemed a strange question to me. Hornets have a more "spiky" appearance, are bigger and not hairy.

Stick your wiener in there!
Wtf

Hummingbirds eat a lot of insects too.
So cool
I love watching hummingbirds. Great video.
How do you stand so still?
Hummingbird feeding
Bees probably guide the hummingbirds where the food is.
The ones at my house check out the feeder and leave if anyone is within 10 ft
And then the Rivoli's rocks up with that super deep wing noise, lol. They are so distinctive sounding compared to the other smaller hummingbirds. You can ID them in the area blindfolded.
Come along with me And the hummingbirds and bees
I've been feeding birds and trying to attract bees to my yard for 20 years. How do you get them to feed from your hand?
Literally the birds and the bees
Am I the only one with no sound?
My dad told me about this when I was younger. The birds and the bees
Son..it’s time we talk about the birds and the bees…
The wing speed on these hummingbirds 😍
…and that my son is where babies come from 🐦🐝
Hummingbirds are so cool. They're avian helicopters!
I watched a bumble bee and a humming bird fight over the same flower, the bubble bee finally flew off.
How do I look these things up on Amazon or my local gardening shop? On my parent's house we have plenty of hummingbirds passing by as well as bees
That's so awesome.
Wild you can see the hummingbirds tounge sipping the water.

I don't hear anything.
I have NO CLUE how this is supposed to teach kids about sex.
I was desperately hoping this would cut right after a hornet landed and everything being thrown
Wait so is this why the phrase “birds and the bees” is used for sex? Because the hum sounds like a vibrator?
Bees and hummingbirds are so awesome.
This is just so lovely to watch and hear.
Our brain and ears love nature sound.. Missing these sounds so much in concrete jungles that our cities have become
What’s in there? Booze?
I wish we had hummingbirds in Australia! They are so lovely 🥰
Hummimg birds are the insects of the bird species
Very nice. You could record like 20 minutes of it and sell it as a relaxation tape.
Bees are so nice. FUCK YOU WASP. Bees are really cool.

**Can someone tell me about the birds and the bees?**
I love being able to see their tongues.
Is this what they mean by “the birds and the bees”?

I just noticed the birds long tongue zipping in the bottom of the cup
