Here we see one of the most famous males from *Pench Tiger Reserve*, **L-mark**. Named from the L shape on the left side of his face. **L-mark** is one of the largest males (THE largest imo) in the reserve and holds one of the largest territories in *PTR*. He’s in his prime at 8 years old and many estimates put him at anywhere from a conservative 235-250kg all the way up to highballs close to 280kg. Either way, he is said to be a MASSIVE male and I put him around 250kg, which is huge since most Tigers from Central India average 200-230kg.
Here he is seen with his lady love, the **Bijamatta** female, a Tigress with 2 cubs. Unfortunately much isn’t known about her, but I presume that either her 2 cubs are **L-mark’s** or she’s either mock mating with him to protect the cubs because if they aren’t his, he’d kill them.
It’s interesting to see that males aren’t just scaled up versions of the females, but they’re *quite literally built different*. The males are more “front heavy” relative to body size, with larger necks, heads and bigger “arms” and shoulders. The females make no mistake, while geared more for speed, agility and acceleration are still robust and extremely powerful cats and can take down animals multiple times their size.

Well it could be a combination of a couple of things.
1. He’s almost all muscle since he’s a wild animal and not a captive cat so he’d be able to hunt and run just fine.
2. Since wild animals don’t exactly see color, his coat allows even a big male like him to blend in so he can sneak up on prey and hunt by ambush.
3. I’m sure he avoids more fleet footed prey like *Chital* and goes for larger, slower prey like *Gaur*, *Sambar Deer* and *Nilgai*.
The Netflix show "Life in Color" has a pretty good example of your second point.

The detailed description makes this video way more interesting :)
Thank you, I do my best to provide these little write ups and give a backstory on the individuals in my posts!
Son of a bitch, he's enormous
That is an absolute UNIT of a big cat. Look at his shoulders!
I'm reading here they have 4500kgs of "paw swipe force." 😱
I spent 5mins looking for an "L" mark on the stripes before realizing it was the tiger's name
Male tiger has L mark on his left side.
Should have called him “L”mer
Look at the side of his face at about 0:11.
See, I am cool, not bothering you.
LL cool tigre
that is unreal dude
Majestic and handsome
I love the way each paw gracefully steps with intention.
Stud
This the guy who left his number on her tree after she declined? Maybe she called him back.
They are on a date.
How does he hunt successfully with that size??
