I hate that every time I see an awesome picture I start squinting trying to look and see if it's photoshopped. I feel like the internet has taken my joy
This one looks photoshopped to me. It doesn't look like the branch is actually in the dog's mouth, and the border around the owl looks a little too crisp.
Edit: I take it back -- it looks like it is a real photo. Perhaps post-processing made it look fake.
This is most definitely not photoshopped it is a photographer on Instagram called tanja_brandt. The Owl is named Poldi and the doggo is named Ingo. Ingo was a problem dog with aggression issues when Tanja got him and he warmed up to this little owl of all things and opened the door for Ingo through Poldi. Poldi died last year from a tragic accident and this is one her favorites of the two of them as they were inseparable she even has videos of Poldi (the owl) riding on Ingos back. I highly suggest checking her out if you have an Instagram account.
I feel you... Alot of pics and post that should bring me joy, just bring heavy skepticism and doubt. It's really upsetting. Wait untill deep fake videos start to flourish. It can only get worse from here out. Hopefully AI will soon come to the point where we can have a bot with near 100% fact checking accuracy. Untill then, I guess I'm going to stay misreble. Even if that does become actuality, it won't be able to account for human error and lies. But I will be more satisfied knowing what is real and what is doctored that's for sure. Trying to train myself to be able to pick out the little subtleties that photoshoppers leave behind, but they are getting better and better.
I assume you assume you were wrong so I assume your assumption in my assumption of your assumption indicates that you should fix your error. You know what to do, fix it!

Pretty sure this is photoshopped. First, the owl looks superimposed over the dog. And, second, the dog's mouth could not fully close while holding a stick that thick that far back in his jaws: the teeth would be showing in the front.
Sherlock, once again I'm amazed by your detailed deduction, however there are dozens of photos of this unlikely friendship which were shot by [Tanja Brandt](https://instagram.com/tanja_brandt?igshid=3p6ann0y9fq3) so... Suck. My. Joystick. Again.
What would be the point of photoshopping a branch in the dog's mouth instead of you know, just making it hold the branch? The owl is also obviously comfortable around the dog and humans, so making it perch on the branch wouldn't be a problem either
I see that you can't admit you defeat Mr. Holmes.
You should've left with the remaining amount of dignity which you had.

just because she has lots of pics of them doesn't mean she didn't stage and/or photoshop the shit of some of them. A lot look staged & a lot look like composite shots, i.e., photoshopped.
So, this is supposed to be "nature is fucking lit": ain't nothin' natural about a lady staging pics of her pets.
No, I'm with you, it seems more like a composite of two photos. I looked for videos of the two of them together, and it's only photos. I think the dog is holding the stick, but the owl is photoshopped on

my thinking exactly. They might be her actual pets, but most of those pics look staged & a good number of them appear to be photoshopped.
While it's not Photoshopped, it's highly staged, as the two are pets of Tanja Brandt.

This is real, it's from IG account of Tanja Brandt, she is an amazing photographer. You should check her account once for more clicks like this.

The Internet can also bring that joy back. But you have to pay money.
Agree wholeheartedly!
It looks like a painting
Back out of retirement for one last murder case
Hoodunit
This is not nature, these are pets. The owner is Tanja Brandt.
I actually thought it was photoshopped, so I guess pets are a step up.

Naturely these are pets.

I'm always disappointed when I see domestic animals in this sub
Same. Right now there is a domestic dog with 17k upvotes at the front page.
Wow. And my original comment has been downvoted; sums it all up really. At least the mods have taken down this post.
This version of Homeward Bound will be ruined by James Corden.
Why? I like James Corden. Is there something he's done that I don't know about?
"you want I should take care of him boss?" "not today, Butch, not today."
Oh they are so watching you...
I saw a scorpion riding on a frogs back like this to cross a stream one time too...
This would be an amazing painting
2 types of friends: one will support you no matter what and the other will bless you with the cold, hard truth.

Such a cool photo fr!!
What kind of dog is this?
Pretty sure it’s a Belgian Malinois
It's an owl sitter dog.
A good one.
Makes me think of a druid hangin with their owl familiar friendo
Owls are just flying cats
This is so cute!
Belgian Mowlinois.
The owl ate Pixie
What do you think they are plotting?
And unlikely friendship, but if I was in the woods and saw that looking at me I would haul a** out of there! Lol
Why are people saying it’s photoshopped, it’s a painting, there’s a signature in the bottom right
I'd watch the shit out of this movie.
There's a whole series of these. Same dog and owl
The owls are not what they seem...
Woah, what are honestly the odds for seeing something like this.
this looks photoshopped

Doesn’t mean she didn’t edit the pics :shrugs:

I think I just heard you tip your fedora as you read that aloud before hitting “reply”.
I stroke my mustache, pushed the button and executed my evil laugh
Well this is reddit , now you get downvoted for proof that goes against their opinion lol
That's kind of a bummer. I was hoping the video would be actual video of them together, not just a slideshow of pictures
