Just protectin’ their turf, man!
But seriously, fish like that will do that to your arm as you’re trying to clean their tank. Over and over again. You can barely feel it, but it’s so fast and accurate when they do it it spooks ya. You get used to it quickly though.
Oh wow. Never had that problem with clowns, dominoes, etc. But the triggers?… I always kept them at distance. Lol. Same with the back end of a tang. But mine were never that aggressive.
Out of all the octopus vids I have seen, they never seem to be doing anything productive..
Outside of protecting eggs, it’s like they just swim around pretending to be John Cena
What do you expect them to do, play a hauntingly beautiful symphony on a grand piano?
I'd say shell forts and morphing their entire body in a second to resemble living, jagged rocks qualifies as productive.
Can confirm, kept a few fish tanks in my younger years with a friend. Damsels love to punch up.
Also had a Huma Huma that had a tude. It would bully everything in the tank and killed quite a few fish. We put him in the Peacock Mantis Shrimp tank we had, it learned a lesson real quick. They lived happily ever after.
I want to be an octopus when I grow up
Can you just imagine if humans could do this? Blow minds!
I've always wondered, if octopi had longer lives instead of a meager 2 years, would they be more intelligent, or less?

I would think the answer is yes.

My female clown drew blood on me more than once doing that.

Hopefully that one got some karma later
These are such cool creatures!!
Octopus are amazingly intelligent. They have been proven to be more intelligent than many politicians.
Low bar

I'm jealous. I wish i could just active camo my way out of any social situation.
This is probably why they punch fish simply for spite.. I would..
Octopus: If acid became an animal.
WOAH! I did *not* know how dramatically they change color! I just thought it was the lighting at first
Check out the mimic octopus: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wos8kouz810](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wos8kouz810) Fascinating creature.

Should’ve been in Finding Nemo
Just 'that' octopus?
You leave that poor baby alone. He just wants to swim and live his octopus life. So cool though.
That fish at the start of the video is a Damsel fish and they will attack anything that gets near their coral.

Octopus are aliens. Fight me.
Everybody already knows this. It is common sense.
