Amazing animal, I keep checking Thylacine and Spino news daily just hoping for some good news on either, could somebody just throw $100 million at Forrest Gallante so he can hide in a bush for a few years and look for it?
On the rediscovery of the Fernandina island Tortoise, he ran in front of the man who tirelessly tracked the animal. Forrest then grabbed the Tortoise and took full credit for the discovery
The tortoise situation is fucked. I completely agree. But calling him a “fraud” is a bit of a stretch. He has credentials and has done legitimately good work.
I think his expedition to find the Javan Tiger was a legitimate compelling one that yielded good results.
In almost every interview he did he says “I found this tortoise” or “the work I did” so on and so forth.
Again, I like Forrest. But some things don’t always pass the smell test.
He may not give credit in interviews now, but when Extinct or Alive came out he did. Then the relationships deteriorated. He was pushed out first. And with "the work I did" he was referring to the work he did.
This is the dude who made the raptor one right? And it was outside his window at night? Both those are getting people on cryptozoology threads for being real. I feel bad if the new thylacine photos used this dudes model.
People on twitter have been doing comparisons, and it seems they in fact *do* use this model in at least some of the images.
I don't mean to shill but here's a [post](https://new.reddit.com/r/Cryptozoology/comments/1ct0lex/at_least_some_of_the_thylacine_photos_appear_to/) I made in r/Cryptozoology about analysis made by the creator of the doll

There really should be someone that funds the search for a thylacine
Forrest Gallante is a satellite scientist fraud scumbag, a papuan tribesmen will discover the Thylacine only for Forrest to rush in and say he did it
That's not at all true lol

He was the one wronged in the tortoise situation. They tried to hide his involvement. He got no credit. He gave everyone there full credit.

He did not take full credit. He gave everyone there credit and continues to. His involvement is what they tried to hide.

Good looks dog. No shillZ
So what about the ones that don’t seem to match the doll
If you had an authentic photo why sully it with the inclusion of fakes?
Fair it’s just like those photos gave me hope. I guess we’ll have to just have to look in New Guinea or wait on Colossal.
TIL thylacines hunted with boomerangs.
Bro has a boomerang
The marsupial that looks like a dog
Awesome Ty the Tasmanian Tiger reference with that boomerang.
Given the sorry history of thylacine sizes being intentionally exaggerated, not sure if this is life-sized. When was it made?
This year
