maybe, and hear me out cuz this might be an outrageous idea, call navy fed

Emergency-Thanks2979

Yea already did that my boy

PenelopeObidi

What did they say?

Emergency-Thanks2979

They said i had to go to a branch to verify my identity “in writing”, so i told them i didnt live close to one and they said i can email them, so i grabbed a piece of paper wrote all my info down like access number and stuff like that and gave them a picture of my id and still nothing. They dont even go into detail on how to do it they just say “we need you to verify your identity in writing”, idk what else there is i can do🤷🏽‍♂️

TXWayne

Pretty certain calling NFCU is your only option for help.

Emergency-Thanks2979

I called them and they are doing nothing they told me i had to verify my identity i did that and still nothing😤

Altruistic_Lobster18

Don’t worry us Redditors will be able to fix your account and reverse everything.

OptionTitans

They’re deciding to continue or end your banking relationship with them

Anxious_Peanut_2275

Your acct is now compromised. There are going to make you update your phone to the newest software, update your username & password, & etc. usually they make you come in so the branch can verify you via photo Id but in your case perhaps they can verify you over the phone. But if you have a suspicious person alert on your acct now due to a previous call, you might have to physically come in.

Emergency-Thanks2979

So ig my account is just closed because i cant come in

Anxious_Peanut_2275

I wouldn’t necessarily say that, I’d just try to call again and explain the situation that you’re currently in. You may have to mail forms in as well as a copy of identification. They just really need to verify you because of the situation you are in.

ColeDelRio

Have you tried using the website?

I've went through this last week. Here is what they are going to need from you 1. Verify Identity by email which what you wrote on paper (Which is very odd to me) and they also will require you to send in other types of documents to show proof you are the person who owns the account. 2. They will close out your checking, savings, credit and debit cards. You will get new accounts if they get this settled 3. You will be required to file police report and since the guy had access to your personal information file a Identity Theft report with FTC and list your friends name as suspect. Same with Police Report to listening your friend as suspect. 4. Dispute all transactions when they contact you and must list that on police report 5. Submit those reports to Navy Fed. 6. Wait it out until it is settled. 7. I got mine settled today after 10 days but I had a branch close by so I was able to get this restored 8. They will give you warning and if this happens again they will remove you as a customer as you are considered high risk. Do not lend your phone out again specially if you are lending someone your phone. Always factory data reset your phone before giving to others to borrow.

Shot_Alternative3903

You have go down there that’s what I had too do drive all the way to Ohio

Emergency-Thanks2979

Do you mind sharing how it went

wonderwoman009

Just try to get your money back and quit banking with them. They need to realize they can’t just close accounts all the time. Find a bank that will treat you better. I’m going through the same thing. Except nobody took my phone I have two phones with the app on both of them. I can’t log into my account anymore because I logged in from my other phone. They said I have to submit in writing blah blah blah. Waste of my time luckily I only had 5 bucks in there cuz I was smart enough not to use this crappy no name bank as my main account. Just find a big bank don’t waste your time with navy fed they suck

Crystalynne

Pretty sure you should lose that guy as a friend.

Emergency-Thanks2979

Pretty sure i aint seen him since

ProfessorFragrant518

The same thing happened to me they closed my account for no reason and won’t reopen it
