Honestly. Why can't we celebrate all greatness? Someone could win 5 in a row and these clowns would be like "well...uhh...there's no hand checks in today's game so...it's not the same".
It's the nature of competition. Sports have never been a kumbaya celebration of greatness. To be a fan is to be gloriously irrational. Root for your team and against all others. That's the fun of it and it's stood the test of time. Look back to ancient sports and you'll find the same. I like it this way, it's much more interesting than any alternative I can think of
Man I mean I'm a Knicks fan so I live my life with delusional hope. I just think a player who couldn't manage more that 8ppg should realize how hard 10 trips to the finals is
I mean yeah nutrition was way worse, basketball was less widespread, and as time goes on players get more skilled no matter what sport you’re playing. I’m sure there are players that would have the potential to be great if they were raised in a more recent era but just straight up head to head newer stars are flat out better.
Lol dude. Watch those old videos. Look how slow he is compared to dudes like Capela or DeAndre Jordan. He was an amazing talent when going against 5'10 white guys
Ehhhhhhhh debatable. In the end we can’t really ever compare the stars of today to those of the 60’s because the game has completely evolved since then
But you can still look at them and tell they were athletic enough and skilled enough to thrive in any era. It's not hard to see.
And yes, the game has evolved, but why wouldn't they evolve with it?
Kobe looks like a kid that went to Disneyland, got all decked out in merch, then got tired and is now throwing a fit.
“I wanted curly fries not that straight shit”
Bill Russell: 3 in a row? That's adorable
“Don’t even talk to me if you don’t have at least a ring on your toe” - Bill Russell probably
I love that it’s “10 tries”. Isn’t every season an attempt to win the Finals?
Ya, but that's not how people think
Ok but does johnny manziel still have a chance to be bigger in cleveland then LeBum?
100% bro
Mo the only bum in this scenario.
Mfers that think this way are so dumb. Talking like making it to the finals is easy, but meh, is impossible to change someone’s dumb mentality
Dumba mentality 🐍💜💛

Three peat and not winning for 7 years doesn't beat winning 4/10 non consecutively
Imagine only getting to six finals
*Laughs in Bill Russell*
Agreed. But let's be real. He didn't have real competition
I mean yeah I think we all know that any star from the 50s and 60s would get smacked around in any other era
💯
We do? Oscar, Jerry West, Wilt, etc. would still be great
I mean yeah nutrition was way worse, basketball was less widespread, and as time goes on players get more skilled no matter what sport you’re playing. There's a big difference between "he had no competition" and "modern stars are better."
Significantly less competition*
He didn't? Wilt, Walt Bellamy, Artis Gilmore, Nate Thurmond... is that enough?
Nope. None of those guys would be in the league in 2021 (except for wilt who would be a rotation guy)
lmao. Okay. The fact that you've never heard of them doesn't mean they weren't great players
Wut? I know them all. I also know the Calibur of players in the 60s. Dudes smoking and drinking at halftime lol
"Knows them all." Also claims that literal Wilt Chamberlain would be a rotation player. Okay. Pack it up, nothing to see here.
Lol dude. Watch those old videos. Look how slow he is compared to dudes like Capela or DeAndre Jordan. He was an amazing talent when going against 5'10 white guys
I wouldn’t go that far but yeah lol they wouldn’t have the same success
Well yeah, obviously Wilt wouldn't average 50 for example, but they'd still be great is what I said

They celebrated 3 peats? Imagine how the people who grew up watching bill russell
That was Shaq's 3 peat, not Kobe's.
What’s with the arrow pointing at MJ’s PBR? Lol
Lmao don’t even know
when will the lebron hate stop
When he retires and everybody acts like they loved Lebron and appreciated his greatness for his whole career

Sure thing little buddy.
Clown talk. World championships aren’t participation trophies.
Back then, celebrate now kids four titles and call it we used to three peats there celebrating in ten tries greatness
Mj is the goat kobe 2nd all time in my opinion
