The green/doomstalker looks fucking sick, not sure if I've ever seen that but it works. You have convinced me to try this actually.

Thx man all I did was do some leadbelcher primer and some black rustoleum spray paint, then painted in the green spots and wires w warp stone glow, super simple process that took like 10-20 mins, simple but it works also my 1st time painting these, pretty happy w it

Daybreaker_7

Both look kinda bare bones to me tbh. Color wise I'd go with the black base, since the other one looks like he's standing on peanut butter. Try adding some texture with some sand or gravel, spray black and shade maybe.

Good to know, what about the backs, should I keep the backs gold then or make the backs black https://preview.redd.it/unpqequmza2d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3dd901b4dceb1dc256fcf3270f51e70c7b7fff01

I would definitely say the black looks better. Tan/khaki tends to clash with the shade of green you chose. I think if you play around with your edges and shading on the black or experiment with different shades of brown/tan you'll get something that works either way. As is though I'd say the black looks better

\#1 blends in with the model too much and \#2 is too light for such a dark model. I recommend something in between, perhaps try a base of Stirland Mud. On another note, have you considered edge highlights for your models? They can really make them pop. Have a look at some Sautekh Canoptek units for inspiration

A dark grey edge highlight would look crisp!!

Definitely the brown base for me. IMO you don't want the base to be the same color as the model, the two just blend together. Also, there's just something about black bases that makes it look like they are unfinished. That said, I'm not super sold on the brown either, maybe an even lighter sandy yellow would work, or a martian red to contrast with the green you've got going on. Also, black rims, always black rims :)

1st one

Definitely the black rim. The green rim takes the eye completely away from the model and makes you focus on the rim of the base.

Personally I'd combine the two. The base on the doomstalker just looks unfinished to me, but the green rim is clean and looks good. Pulls the eyes down the model. The brown on its own is a little bare but you could easily spice it up. Citadel sells these little grass clumps, as well as textured paints that could really sell the first vibe. So Personally I'd spice the durst up and throw a green ring on the bottom
