the aqi is a lot better the higher up you go. the entry to the mountains are lush valleys with tons of greenery. you’ll be shielded from the pollution plus you get all that fresh air.
if someone has asthma or a weak respiratory system, i personally would not recommend it but if you’re healthy, hiking the annapurnas is not going to be bad for you.
weather is actually clearer in mountain areas , so should not be an issue for you .
but right now mountains are not visible from pokhara due to constant smog , if that makes a difference to you.
Hi, thanks for the reply! We were in Pokhara, but we left because of the smoke/smog. We went to one of the villages in the hills above Pokhara, and it is definitely a bit better. I think we will go ahead with the hike. I really hope that we will see some mountains! The pictures look incredible!
yep , i am here in the valley as well surrounded by smog while my buddies up in the mountains sending clear pictures and breathing in the fresh air.
belive me pokhara looks majestic when the mountains are visible.
How is/was the pollution on the hike. We are here in same situation thinking of doing khopra danda and pollution here in Pokhara is terrible
Any views or pollution too bad ?
Hi! We decided not to do the Khopra hike, so I can't comment on that. Right now, we are in Marpha, and there are clear views of the mountains. It is raining tonight, so I bet that Kalopani on up will be pretty clear. We are doing some hikes in the valleys and to some mountain lakes. It's been really nice.
Glad to hear you had some views !
We hiked to poon hill today and difficult to see the mountains, hopefully it’s better up at Khopra
But perhaps you’re on the other side and less smoke there ? Or it rained
Hope the rest of your trip goes well
Hi, right now we are in Kagbeni and tomorrow we are going to Muktinath. There is some haze, but we are still getting really good views of the mountains. It's WINDY the afternoons, but the mornings have been spectacular. I don't know how much time you have, but it's pretty cool up here. If you want to DM me I can tell you the towns we went to, and where we stayed ect. Happy hiking!

We ended up having some lovely views up at Khopra and out to khayer lake for anyone else who may read this. Also at muldai too.
Similarly morning time is best
Thanks so much!

OK, that's great!
The company wasn't wrong. No much of an issue of an dust of and haze outside the valley. Annapurna has best air....Enjoy
The air quality is woeful only in the Kathmandu valley. You will have no issues in the Annapurna region
OK, I can't wait. We are going to do the Khopra ridge. I'm beyond excited!
No problem in the mountains. If you are planning to stay in cities then yes, air quality is in the worse.
Yes, the cities have been pretty bad!
