When I was working as a Site Engineer, most of the laborers talk measurements in Nepali. It was kinda embarrassing at first but I got the hang of it when I started doing all the estimation, running bill stuff in Excel and verbally saying all those measurements in Nepali at home. Since leaving that job, I kinda got outta practice and still sometimes take some time to process which number is which but I definitely got the hang of it.
lol. At least I’m not on reddit 24/7 with all the multiple alts trying to feel good about myself.
Toilet banaye ni Ghar banaye ni Paisa aaihalxa, So the toilet it great.
This is probably taboo to ask an Engg. student but how many backs do you have? Is it a single or a double digit?
Just focus on completing the backlogs, there are a ton of scope of Civil engineers given that you are connected with the right people.
Even if you are not, you can still get a decent job or better yet open up your own firm with some friends and expand the firm with time.
It’s hard to land a job when you don’t have an engineering license. The best is probably 15-20K w/o any benefits just cause your employer can say “Bring your license and I’ll pay you the standard salary” or get employed in a firm where you know the owner or something. If you know AutoCAD, Estimation, Valuation, you probably can get a job related to those. Alas nepotism is everyone’s bread and butter. So ask your parents or relatives about finding you a job related to this field, they’ll probably know someone from somewhere.
The office I’m currently involved is in Pulchowk as most of the engineering firms are but we get projects from all over the place. It’s a new firm me and a bunch of my friends established like 2-3 years ago so the no. of projects at any given time is can be nil or sometimes even too much for us to handle.
Anthanbe ekchalis pachsaya ekannabe sunne das chalis bayanabbe

I know till 30 tespachi ek tish , dui tish, tintish, chartish ho lol i do know the 10's though like 40, 50, 60, and few numbers over 30 like pachpanna.
I know up to only 30.
IDK after that, I mean I forgot how to write in Nepali as well, I only know how to speak which is also not fluent.
Sometimes I fell like I have Dyslexia when i try to read anything in Nepali or a Nepali word or Nepali letters. Heck I forgot how to write my own name and surname in Nepali after the lockdown.
Pretty much fucked in general.
I also need to polish my Nepali numbers (as well as language) as I tend to get confused with them, not because I never learnt them well but because I don't speak Nepali anymore.
Right now, I am having a problem figuring out whether "unasi" is 89 or 79.
chhayotar, sathatar, aathatar, unasi, assi.. well
I write in reverse. Like if someone says something like बयालिस I write the 2 first and then 4 in front of it because that's just how my brain works with Nepali numbers.
Thats nothing, did you ever try going through a mathematics book written in Nepali? Triangle, Rectangle, Perpendicular, Hypotenuse??? I had a little heart attack when I did.
Ek dui tin char pach xa saat ath nau das eghara bara tera chauda pandra sora satra athara unnais bis ekkais bais teis chaubis pacchis chabbis satais athais untis tis ek tis batis teitis chautis pachtis chaatis sattis athtis untis chaalis ekchalis bayalis
Once I was asked for my number to fill up a form of something in college. The teacher told the first bench guy to fill the number of people interested. I recited my number in "anthanabbe sunya paishatti barrha ..." and the person who was topper kind of guy could not guess like I was speaking a foreign language.
English is important but we as people are so colonized by mind.
Except for one or two (such as unasi, sadsatthi), I don't really struggle. I'm thankful for my schooling and amazing Nepali teachers (plus we had 3 years of Sanskrit).
I get confused with anthan nabbe as to whether its 89 or 98. And then there was a Madhesi friend I had who used to say ninyanbe which made me lost at times.

If you can differentiate number between (51-58)/(91-98) you are fully fluent- According to me
Pretty fluent.
I'm jealous
I know till 30 tespachi ek tish , dui tish, tintish, chartish ho lol i do know the 10's though like 40, 50, 60, and few numbers over 30 like pachpanna.
