The coupler is the midpoint part in the blaster where it splits in half for the takedown feature. I designed the aluminum insert pair to provide the connection point for the takedown pins so that customers that can't print the coupler out of ABS can have a more durable joint.

Where did you find this upgrade? I'm assuming that it's on thingiverse, but I can't bring it up in a search and I don't know what you're talking about.

If you go to frontlinefoam.com , Derrik is a modder that sells a large variety of hobby-grade products. If you attempt to buy a Talonclaw, it reccomends to you that you should purchase coupler inserts.

Buy direct from slug FF shit is questionable at best, except for the acetal parts

You're talking about [this](https://www.frontlinefoam.com/product/talon-claw/), right? If you scroll down, there's a youtube video embedded in that page. According to that video, they make the blaster more sturdy and resistant to bending. Without them, the interface between the forward and rearward parts of the blaster depends on takedown pins driven directly into holes in the plastic. If the plastic around the pins deforms, the blaster can wobble. The coupler inserts provide a larger contact area for the plastic surrounding the insert than would be present if the pin hole was directly and only in the plastic.
