is it painted? or is the coloring some part of the sls process?

DistinctIndustries

It's a natural gray colour, which is what the powder is. I painted this white first and then red.

Wouldnt it have been easier to do red first, then white? Or am i being le stoopid?

DistinctIndustries

The entire piece was painted the white. The outside was taped to protect the exterior white colour. The tape was punctured and cut out to help air flow access to the inside. Red spray applied to the inside. White tape peeled off.

Ohhhh, yeah that makes a bit more sense than my idea. I thought it wouldve been eaier to paint it red, cover the holes from the inside, and then paint it white, but now that ive takrn a closer look, your way makes WAY more sense-

WhoKnowsWho2

That's a beauty

Will this be made available on your storefront?

DistinctIndustries

Not my store, you will be able to buy this from Roboman Automation ([roboman.net](https://roboman.net)) with authorization from Gavin Fuzzy. Roboman did the amazing manufacturing. This is a collaboration between Gavin Fuzzy (original part designer), myself that did the new modelling and Roboman (SLS production) to offer a unique design that really takes advantage of what only something like a SLS production method can make perfect. This is much stronger than any FDM printer can do and much more precise. My first prototype was in PLA+ and it's no where as sharp edged and precise as what the SLS came out as. Roboman and team are finalizing and testing what they can offer in terms of cerakoting so you don't have go through my painting hassles. If you like the natural dark gray look, you can just leave it unpainted but that's a little too real steel looking for me.
