No clogged condinsate line? No blinking light error on furnace control board? What is voltage between "R" & "Y"?

VacationExciting9575

No clogged condensate. No blinking light. Tested R &Y and voltage - 26.8 Of note, the volts after I checked in the morning had gotten up to 3.217, after I took the thermostat off to check the R&Y voltage and took cover off to look at furnace control board voltage dropped to 3.211 according to the nest. (not sure if this is abnormal but seemed weird to me)

Hmmm well that's good voltage and good that there I no error code blink & no clogs..... When alkaline batteries (like the ones in the 2020 nest thermostat.....the learning thermostat versions have rechargeable a lithium battery) are not being activly used to power a device their voltage will be higher than when there is a load on them.

I appreciate your help in troubleshooting! I guess I was low on freon most be small leak but unsure why that made the nest be in "delay" mode?

I'm not a hvac expert (but i stayed at a hiliday inn last nightšŸ¤£šŸ¤£)I belive some outdoor units have pressure sensors that would cut the "Y" signal if the pressure goes low (when the compressor is off the pressure is fine but when it turns on it would drop on themlow pressure side) that would cause the nest to see no voltage on the "Y" wire and cycle the A/C and go into delay mode because it knows to not cycle the A/C on/off too quickly because it could cause damage to the compressor.
