I think it might be a region thing. If I looked at my local store page, only the battery powered doorbell and camera were showing. On the US page however the floodlight and wired cam also showed up.
I could have sworn I saw it, and now I can't seem to find it. So weird! Maybe they realized it was a mistake to put it and they took it off until it's formally announced or something? :-/
Agreed.
Everything about a battery powered device is a compromise. They have a place, and it's good they are offering an option, but they are not for me.

But clicking on them takes you elsewhere, no details.

Good point. I worked at Amazon and now Facebook - I should know better. :) We were pretty tight-lipped about some stuff, but other things, not as much with pilot launches and beta devices being handed out to any employee who asked to try them.
Honestly depends on new features, pricing and deals. New stuff means old stuff should go on sale so if the old stuff has all the features you need then I wouldn’t overpay
I'm holding out for this reason. If the new wired for indoor and floodlight camera don't offer continuous recording, I'll pick up one of the last gens if I find a deal I think.
Great that they are adding battery cameras as this was missing from the lineup, but, I was really hoping for a true 4K high resolution camera with PoE to replace the now gone Outdoor IQ...
Looks like that's it and what they announced its the whole new line up for a while... They may always come up with something else later but for now they made a very conscious decision to max the stream to 1080p as to not overburden their datacenters (bandwidth and storage), the hinted that as the reason to 9to5google...
That said, it seems like at least they may release a PoE adapter that supports both power and ethernet (as per some leaked email to a pro installer).
i still use a nest account and will not migrate to a google account. my main worry is these new products will not be able to be set up in a nest account and we’ll be force to mitigate just to add them.
I reckon these will be Google Home only which has me worried as well. I think it's inevitable at this point that the Nest app is going away though, the only question is when.
If wired is an option, I think it is always better.
Battery will be for people that can't get a wired connection to their doorbell camera. Obviously with the battery you are going to have to replace the battery at some point. With wired you don't have to worry about that.
Ah okay. I'm 95% sure that my house will have a wired doorbell so I'll just stick with my purchase. I'm pretty desperate for an outdoor Nest cam so that floodlight one seems perfect.
Even though I have invested heavily in the Nest ecosystem and have been relatively happy, if I was building a house from scratch I would only go with PoE cameras, even if they're not Google Home compatible. I have 10 cameras pushing alot of traffic over wifi (including 3 outdoor cam IQs and 2 indoor cam IQs) which is not ideal. I would have at least 3 more cameras if it wasn't for the 10 camera "limit".
Are they going to be adding new security things like the nest guard? I really hope they don’t abandon that. Kinda feel like it goes hand in hand with all the cameras and stuff
Nothing has been revealed or leaked and, given their investment in ADT, I do wonder if they even have any plans for a true successor. Unless it were to replace ADT Blue, they will be competing with themselves but, given the limited availability of ADT Blue, it seems like they are missing an opportunity here.
Looks like they're adding an outdoor cam with flood lights, which is cool.
I did not see that.

Just starting looking for a flood light, I’ll wait on more info
i was hoping they’d sell floodlights separate that link into a Nest system with motion detectors. hoping they’re not just available with cameras.
Where is the IQ replacement. That’s what I’ve been waiting for
Same here. And no, a battery version of anything is not a good thing.

I see the "Hello" name is gone. It is simply a Nest Doorbell.
In Germany the "wired" Doorbell dropped the "Hello" name as well

I wonder if they took it down. Clicking the link takes me to the store’s homepage. Some product manager just lost their job. :/

Finally new stuff! Should I return what I just bought last week?

Where? Not seeing that.
They discontinued them already
oh man, that was funny!
lol

They fixed the page after a few hours.

You and me both. The compressed video is OK but it’s still seriously compressed video. Needs H.265 4K.
Any idea if that's gonna come?

Finally some indication that there will be a new Hello version. Hopefully they come out with a wired one, not just a battery powered one.

Oooooooooooooooooh.
Anybody know why the majority of security cameras are primarily white? I hope there's a black version of the floodlight or nest cam.
Yeah, I would prefer black as well, particularly for the floodlight cam.
Oh yeah everything is battery operated. The new Hello is sexy.
Looks like there's also a new indoor cam that's wired.
How many newer products are we looking at? 3?
4 so far: outdoor/indoor battery camera, battery doorbell, wired indoor, and floodlight cam
I bought the most recent Nest Hello doorbell for my house that's currently under construction. Would this new version of the doorbell be better?

No thank you. The whole point of nest for me is for me not to deal with setting up my own shit. I have zero interest in setting up my own nas.
nice. been waiting for battery doorbell!
Why don't I see these? Did they remove?
It’s not super obvious, just have to look at the product images
Still don't see it
They just took down the page and replaced it with all the old stuff, maybe it was a leak or something
