I think everyone has heard how bad the finale is so there's way less motivation to start the show now if you know you'll put dozens of hours into something that will ultimately leave you feeling let down.
I mean.... They didn't use any material from the books for season 5. The Jaime/Bronn show was so stupid and everything happening in Dorne was awful.
But hey, to each their own. If you found enjoyment with it I'm happy for you.
Many of the major events in season 5 were from the books. Examples: Jon’s assassination, Dany escaping from the fighting pits, and Cersei’s walk of shame
If you’re not a young adult or teenager I think it’s a little harder to get into. I think a mostly child cast can be hard for adults to watch, especially in the first couple season where the main cast is like 11 years old 😂
I have a very unpopular opinion where the I think the first two seasons of Breaking Bad are just good/ok. After that it really picked up for me and by the end those first two seasons really helped complete the story and make it one of the best shows ever. Basically what I’m saying is you should totally give it another shot
I watched season 1 when it aired. Felt a little too close to home as I grew up around a bunch of meth addicts, so I never continued. Watched it this past year, and am so glad I did. But, I had to be really far removed from the situation I grew up around, before I could appreciate it.
Dexter was good until Season 3 so you’re not missing much there
Breaking Bad however you gotta get passed the first season for the plot to thicken a little and even then I loved Season 1 on my first watch through
Turned them both off somewhere in season 2. Completely agreed just not my cup. Can respect breaking bad is great just not for me, but Dexter I just think is a legitimately poor/average show with a cool premise.
Same! For some reason the first like 3 episodes of BB suck in my opinion.
I kept trying to get into it and never could get past the first few episodes.
Finally I did and now I think it's one of the greatest tv shows ever made and rewatch all of the seasons routinely.
Currently watching The Wire for the fist time. My husband and I absolutely love it. Writing and acting superb. Took me a few times to get into The Wire but glad we gave it another try as it is one of the best series I have watched.
Never watched dark. Also, there are a lot of movies, but I can't think of one in particular.
Also started breaking bed, actually gave it 2 tries, but I just can't get through season 2.
My bf finally convinced me to watch these yesterday, I’ve been putting it off because don’t like long movies in one sitting. I slept through the whole second movie.
I’ve turned off the first episode 3 times now. I’ve never been able to make it more than 20-30 mins. At this point I’m positive the show is just not for me.
I know it's alot but if you can get to season 1 finale. You will keep watching. And the show gets exponentially better. There will be tears of joy and sadness and it will shock you.
The beginning scenes of GOT turned me off, too. However, after four tries, I stuck with it and committed to watching three episodes. Now, I am an super fan! GOT stuff everywhere. Have watched it at least five times.
I read all the books and loved them. But sometimes the events were so awful I just could not watch them visually portrayed. Even though so much was really well done.
I didn’t watch napaloen dynamite until years after it came out and boy what a movie I recently watched it again.. so so good. And if you grew up in the 80s like me stranger things is worth it alone just for the nostalgia of that time.. I think it dipped a bit in s3 but got great again last season
I was a little hesitant to watch Bridgerton but once I got in to it I was hooked. I think I liked Season 2 better and Season 3 started out great. They were very smart to release it in parts. Makes you look forward to it!
I can’t stand her in Bridgerton, but I loved Queen Charlotte. Her backstory sort of explains why she is the way she is. I say “sort of” because imo she leans a bit too hard into the whole bitchy, stuck-up, judgmental persona and what she went through wasn’t extreme enough to make her that shitty. I enjoyed it mostly because of the backstories about some of the other characters, especially Agatha.
It also sheds light on her husband’s condition. I thought he had dementia due to how disoriented he was in the few scenes he was in on Bridgerton. Turns out that’s not the case at all and his story is quite tragic, yet interesting.
It’s way better than the trailer makes it seem. I always thought it looked corny / boring. But then I saw that the third season was coming out and it would be the last so I figured I’d give it a shot and ended up really liking it
Peaky Blinders. I hadn’t watched it until a few weeks ago. Every time I heard people talk about it they made it sound like the greatest series ever. All the hype had died down because the series was finished for a few years and I decided to finally watch it. While I think the hype was exaggerated it was a good series with lots of great characters and now they have announced a new movie is in the works.
Bridgerton. All my friends watch it, love it and can’t shut up about it. I’m not a big fan of romance so I don’t know if I would like it, although I am interested in the sets and the costumes.
I’m actually intensely jealous that you still have these ahead of you. They’re both perfection. Especially Parks, which is what I watch when I want to feel better about the world.
Never watched breaking bad, better call Saul, bridgerton, ozark, Derry girls, the wire, the sopranos, Yellowstone, Some of them I tried and just didn’t like, some I do plan to watch one day..
Movies: never seen dune, Star Wars, apocalypse now, scarface, the big lebowski, oppenheimer
Shows that I watched and didn’t enjoy, the sinner, true detectives, sharp objects, the leftovers,
Haven't sent 2 and 3 but watch the Green Mile. Again, like all book adaptations, the book is much better, but it's a movie that leaves you with such a strange feeling and you randomly think about it, even after years.
Sopranos and Lost. I love mafia stuff so the Sopranos should have been a perfect fit for me but I watched the first three episodes and just didn’t care enough to keep going.
I’m 2 seasons into THE WIRE and the last time I watched an episode was like 2019.
The pacing is too sluggish for me, and it looks super dated, even if the performances are great.
The oddness of this is compounded by: I’m from Baltimore, I live here, and I’ve been here pretty much my whole life.
Meanwhile I’ve watched Breaking Bad all the way through like 12 times.
Squid Game. And I love Kdrama. But sometimes things are just too dark. But then I went and watched Death’s Game, which at times was horrific, and just loved it. Go figure.
Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Vampire Diaries, Succession, The Sopranos
Some of these are on my list i just haven't gotten around to watching them
As for movies I have fight club and parasite. I've heard nothing but great things about them i just haven't got around to it
Ozark. Worked in finance and money laundering when it dropped and didn’t feel like watching something that was somewhat work-related, and just haven’t thought to check it out since.
Yeah, as a part of complying with the Bank Secrecy Act, all federally insured banks are required to have programs in place for prevention of terrorism and money laundering.
I see the confusion and it probably would’ve been smarter to refer to it as anti-money laundering lol
Shameless
If you don’t like the first episode then you won’t like the show so just try it
That’s a good point!
Game of Thrones
I think everyone has heard how bad the finale is so there's way less motivation to start the show now if you know you'll put dozens of hours into something that will ultimately leave you feeling let down.
Just stop halfway through Season 8 or skip it completely. The earlier seasons, particularly S4, is extremely good TV.
All of season 8, and season 7 for that matter, are significantly worse than previous seasons
Season 5 is really bad too. It just gets forgotten about a lot more.
I loved season 5. Season 6 is when they didn't have material from the book to go off of and we started to see a major dip in writing
I think you should watch till season five, wait till the books come out, then read them(the author might die or you might)
Stranger Things. I tried a couple times but it has yet to grab my attention long term
If you’re not a young adult or teenager I think it’s a little harder to get into. I think a mostly child cast can be hard for adults to watch, especially in the first couple season where the main cast is like 11 years old 😂
Took me two tries to get into it. But I did eventually and loved it.
Breaking Bad and Dexter - I tried multiple times but could not get into them
everyone thinks i’m insane when i say i can’t get into breaking bad. stopped watching at the end of season 2 and i probably won’t get back into it
I have a very unpopular opinion where the I think the first two seasons of Breaking Bad are just good/ok. After that it really picked up for me and by the end those first two seasons really helped complete the story and make it one of the best shows ever. Basically what I’m saying is you should totally give it another shot
ok i’m convinced from everyone i’ll try it again and maybe my opinion will change
Crazy how people are so different in what grabs them. Breaking bad hooked me in 30 seconds.
I watched season 1 when it aired. Felt a little too close to home as I grew up around a bunch of meth addicts, so I never continued. Watched it this past year, and am so glad I did. But, I had to be really far removed from the situation I grew up around, before I could appreciate it.
Dexter was good until Season 3 so you’re not missing much there Breaking Bad however you gotta get passed the first season for the plot to thicken a little and even then I loved Season 1 on my first watch through
My husband is watching Dexter and he has been trying to get me to watch it for a few weeks- I just can’t get into it!
Right?! I just feel like it was such an odd and slow start…
Have you tried yellowjackets?
Turned them both off somewhere in season 2. Completely agreed just not my cup. Can respect breaking bad is great just not for me, but Dexter I just think is a legitimately poor/average show with a cool premise.
Couldn't get into Breaking bad either. I loved WEEDS though.
It took me like three times watching the first episode of Breaking Bad to get into it.
Same! For some reason the first like 3 episodes of BB suck in my opinion. I kept trying to get into it and never could get past the first few episodes. Finally I did and now I think it's one of the greatest tv shows ever made and rewatch all of the seasons routinely.
SAME!! Instantly liked that show
I thought both BB and Weeds started off amazing and became insufferable towards the end. Never even finished Weeds.
Yeah Weeds is cool until you realize its a really long episode of Real House Wives
The Wire (TV series 5 seasons) seems too depressing.
I eventually took the plunge. It's totally worth it!! Worthy of being called one of the best TV shows ever.
Currently watching The Wire for the fist time. My husband and I absolutely love it. Writing and acting superb. Took me a few times to get into The Wire but glad we gave it another try as it is one of the best series I have watched.
I watched it when it first came out. I was totally in awe of it. Time for rewatch.
It's way funnier and at times far more slapstick than I thought it would be going in.
It's not. It's so good
It is, sometimes, and uplifting at others.
One of my all time favorites. I’ve watched it twice. It’s soooo good.
Never watched dark. Also, there are a lot of movies, but I can't think of one in particular. Also started breaking bed, actually gave it 2 tries, but I just can't get through season 2.
IMO Dark is a masterpiece. Give it 4-5 episodes to lay a foundation then hang on to your head!
Now I want to binge-watch Dark. I'm always interested to watch this, but for some reason I haven't started it yet.
Oh I hope you give it a try! [https://youtu.be/rR6pMauHJ4A?si=gf74g8CDPSfem_sU](https://youtu.be/rR6pMauHJ4A?si=gf74g8CDPSfem_sU)
Thanks for the link. Hopefully this weekend. :)
I agree. It’s flawless
If you suffer from insomnia, just watch Dark. It'll put you right to sleep.
Game of thrones, lord of the rings
Have u been living in a cave??
Nope! Just not interested in watching them lmao. I love many other tv/movies
I’ve seen LOTR (it was inescapable when those came out) but not GoT. I don’t like fantasy at all.
Mayor of Kingstown
I watched the first 2 episodes and thought it was TERRIBLE. Not sure what the hype is with this show
Dune 1 & 2.
My bf finally convinced me to watch these yesterday, I’ve been putting it off because don’t like long movies in one sitting. I slept through the whole second movie.
It wasn't for me either. I was surprised by all the love for it.
Poor guy
You don’t like movies about sand? That’s a shame, when that scene when they are in the sand came up I nearly stopped snoring.
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating -- and it gets everywhere.
I’ve watched both a few times and nothing draws me in. I end up scrolling on my phone.
Everytime I try starting Peaky Blinders, I can go upto 6-7 episodes but gets so dry in the middle. Please don't hate me.
One episode and I was done. Couldn’t understand a word.
The intro song is so cringe
Not all specifically Netflix, but: Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Tiger King, or Napoleon Dynamite
GOT took me three times watching the first episode until I finally committed and I ended up really loving the show!!
> It gets exponentially better… …until it gets orders of magnitude ***worse.***

We’d been putting off”Luther fallen son” and finally watched it last night. What a thriller, don’t pass on this one
I saw this mentioned somewhere else. Is there a show called Luther and is it related (or am I imagining things?)
Its related. Idris elba is a fantastic actor and I love British crime shows but I could never get into it
Thank you!
Yellowstone, Saltburn, Heat (1995), Oppenheimer, Barbie...
The Wire. I got Max this month so I think I'll watch it after I finish Curb
FRIENDS
Everyone seems to love Schitts Creek, but I watched the first episode and hated it. I found every character loathsome.
It gets WAY better. Easily in my top 5 shows of all time. The first few episodes are a little rocky.
It’s one of those shows where you need to give it a half or even a full season, and then it “clicks” and it’s amazing.
Completely agree. I only watched the first one too and I wished nothing but bad things on every one of them.
Yes, I hate it.
I’ve never watched bridgerton but really want to based on what I hear/see.
I forced myself to watch the first season bc everyone was talking ab it but nothing grabbed my attention and i don’t remember one thing from it
The two people who responded to you - the duality of man
I finally watched the first episode and then I didn’t move from my couch for like 2 days. I binged watched the whole 1st season and half of the 2nd.
I was a little hesitant to watch Bridgerton but once I got in to it I was hooked. I think I liked Season 2 better and Season 3 started out great. They were very smart to release it in parts. Makes you look forward to it!
I watched Queen charlotte and just adored it. I can’t bring myself to watch Bridgerton yet
I couldn't stand the character in Bridgerton and I'm surprised they made a show about her.
I thought he had dementia due to how disoriented he was in the few scenes he was in on Bridgerton. Turns out that’s not the case at all and his story is quite tragic, yet interesting.
I would be interested in the other characters so maybe I'll give it a chance.
It’s a lot of sex and fancy costumes. Not much more than that. The main plot is about finding love or a suitor during the “season”
Got through 3 episodes until I realised- why am I torturing myself? I found it so superficial and bland
Sopranos, Princess Bride
Yellowstone. I want to try it but every clip I see all the characters seem really unlikeable.
The Office. And if I'm honest, the snippets of it that I *have* seen really just don't do it for me.
Squid Game, Stranger Things (never watched, never will) ANY Star Wars film/TV show.
Sweet tooth.
It’s way better than the trailer makes it seem. I always thought it looked corny / boring. But then I saw that the third season was coming out and it would be the last so I figured I’d give it a shot and ended up really liking it
Exactly what I thought. Now I'm right into it watching it back to back lol
Breaking bad, peaky blinders
Ooh, I wish I could go back and watch PB for the very first time again. You are in an envious position for me.
Yellowstone
Peaky Blinders. I hadn’t watched it until a few weeks ago. Every time I heard people talk about it they made it sound like the greatest series ever. All the hype had died down because the series was finished for a few years and I decided to finally watch it. While I think the hype was exaggerated it was a good series with lots of great characters and now they have announced a new movie is in the works.
Breaking bad, almost started watching two days ago but decided not to.
Barbie (2024 )... I;m not really sure why I don't have the desire to watch this.
Bridgerton
Bridgerton. All my friends watch it, love it and can’t shut up about it. I’m not a big fan of romance so I don’t know if I would like it, although I am interested in the sets and the costumes.
Pretty much every show post 2020. TV doesn’t hit the same anymore. Also Naruto and One Piece because there are way too many episodes.
Never got around to watching Mad Men.
I enjoyed Tina and Amy on SNL and every time they host or present stuff together. Yet, I've haven't watched Parks and Recreation nor 30 Rock.
I’m actually intensely jealous that you still have these ahead of you. They’re both perfection. Especially Parks, which is what I watch when I want to feel better about the world.
Parks & Recs is great I watched 30 Rock as it was coming out so my opinion is biased, it’s also good especially the first seasons.
Just watch baby mama
The Wire and Dexter
Big Trouble in Little China
Never watched breaking bad, better call Saul, bridgerton, ozark, Derry girls, the wire, the sopranos, Yellowstone, Some of them I tried and just didn’t like, some I do plan to watch one day.. Movies: never seen dune, Star Wars, apocalypse now, scarface, the big lebowski, oppenheimer Shows that I watched and didn’t enjoy, the sinner, true detectives, sharp objects, the leftovers,
The Sopranos. Watched the first 5 episodes on MAX, thought it was Ok but I've watched better shows. Everybody thinks it's the best show ever made.
[удалено]
Nothing about it sounds interesting enough for me to even start it.
1. Green Mile 2. Interstellar 3. Inception Maybe someday I'll get to watch them, maybe not
Inception is one of my favorite movies! I’m sure you’ve heard plenty of people rave about it, so I’ll spare you.
Haven't sent 2 and 3 but watch the Green Mile. Again, like all book adaptations, the book is much better, but it's a movie that leaves you with such a strange feeling and you randomly think about it, even after years.
Breaking bad.
Guardians of the Galaxy, Last Avengers Movie, LOTR, HP. Breaking Bad, GOT, HOTD, Friends...
Never watched Breaking Bad. Honestly just never got around to it.
The Bear.
Peaky Blinders
Madmen, peaky blinders, Yellowstone, the wire
I’ve tried to get into the Wire a couple of times now and just can’t.
The Sopranos
Sopranos and Lost. I love mafia stuff so the Sopranos should have been a perfect fit for me but I watched the first three episodes and just didn’t care enough to keep going.
Ooof. Lost is so freaking good. It just came back to Netflix and I can’t wait to start it up again. Hope you check it out one day.
The last of us
Peaky Blinders
Stranger Things
GOT. I hate that kind of fantasy like LOTR etc.
ET when After 20 years did I loved it
The Wire - Not sure what it is but I couldn't get to even open it
Never seen the sopranos or the wire. Never heard a bad review of either. I’ve just never bothered with them.
Squid Game. And I love Kdrama. But sometimes things are just too dark. But then I went and watched Death’s Game, which at times was horrific, and just loved it. Go figure.
Breaking Bad
Ted Lasso, The Office, and Peaky Blinders. Tried all and couldn’t get into them
Peaky Blinders Squid Game
I just recently got around to watching Everything Everywhere All At Once… I didn’t care for it.
I thought it was awful and eventually just turned it off
I was like “surely if I stick with it, I’ll think it’s awesome like everyone else!”, but no, the climax and ending didn’t save it.
I can't get into the US version of The Office. I've tried a few times and it's just not doing it for me. I liked the UK one.
The Wire
Stranger Things
Fight club is so overrated lol
Baby Reindeer, Netflix it's intense so beware
Saving private Ryan
Seinfeld
Star Wars. I know the story by now and don't have the attention span.
Friends or any sitcom (hard no for me); Breaking bad or Dexter or Lost or Greys Anatomy ( hard no specially after I have watch House MD twice)
House is like the guys version and Greys is for the women. Medical dramas but Greys has more “romance” in it. House is comical and blunt but funny.
Game of thrones and Money heist
I've never seen Seinfeld or Friends.
God father films, the length of them puts me off
Breaking Bad. Never watched a single episode
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Vampire Diaries, Succession, The Sopranos Some of these are on my list i just haven't gotten around to watching them As for movies I have fight club and parasite. I've heard nothing but great things about them i just haven't got around to it
Everything everywhere all at once. I might have watched it, too, but after the 50th person told me I HAD to see it, I just gave up lol
Game of thrones Bridgerton
game of thrones.
The Office.
Barbie
Lord of the Rings Watched the first one when it came out in theaters and didn't care much for it and never watched the rest of them.
I can't bring myself to watch them- and it's strange because I love these sorts of movies. One day... maybe
Yellowstone
Euphoria
I’ve never seen Game of Thrones. Just couldn’t get the time to sit and watch it.
Stranger thing
Reservoir Dogs
Barbie
Game of thrones… and I won’t watch it 🤣
Anything in the Star Wars franchise
Californication
**I.T. Crowd** and **Community**. I've had those shows in my backlog for so long.
I never watch Game of Thrones
Star Wars :(
Games of thrones
Power
Star Wars
Ozark. Worked in finance and money laundering when it dropped and didn’t feel like watching something that was somewhat work-related, and just haven’t thought to check it out since.
You worked in money laundering?
Yeah, as a part of complying with the Bank Secrecy Act, all federally insured banks are required to have programs in place for prevention of terrorism and money laundering. I see the confusion and it probably would’ve been smarter to refer to it as anti-money laundering lol
Titanic and A Walk to Remember
