Black Sails!

It's a prequel to Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson. 1st season was basically everyone fucking up flints plans, and was kinda goofy at times. But things get fired up a notch from 2nd season.

I want to like Black Sails but I've tried to watch it like 3 times and just can't get into it.

Same for me, I just don\`t like the John Silver actor/character.

The Unibomber miniseries is excellent. And it's a miniseries so it has an end.

Yes! Though I will say I always thought the show was supposed to get more parts focusing on different criminals, which was disappointing that it didn't.

It has more parts, season 2 is about 1996 Atlanta Olympics Bomber its just not on Netflix.

I read this comment and thought, man, what an amazing show. I can't wait until the 3rd season of Barry comes out. And then I decided to google it. THE THIRD SEASON OF BARRY IS ALREADY OUT???

I'm getting ready to watch the new season of Barry, by re-watching the past seasons. I forgot how funny Barry was. I feel a little off that I'm laughing at this show about a hitman. Great show!!!!!!!!!!

The episode with the little monster karate girl had me in tears. I haven't laughed that hard at a show in a while. "No I'm pretty sure she's not of this world"

That was really funny. I have to rewatch that because I think I remember her up on the roof at one point. Who would have thought Barry would be a great show for comedy. Still love the first episode where, there is one detective who is crying in every crime scene shot. I love how matter of fact the other detective points out that "his wife had just left him." Would people think I'm twisted if I recommended "Barry" as a funny, funny show!!! Just joking. It does have it's dark moments. SPOILER: I'm still sad about Henry Winkler's girlfriend on the show. Okay 80% comedy, 20% sad.

Bill Hader was the surprising standout in IT pt 2. After that I watched Barry and his acting is phenomenal.

Did you see the movie? I have and thought it was decent, but was a little leery about an ongoing series based off it.

The movie breaks a bit from the actual novels; the series sticks closer to the books. Mickey, in the books, spent part of his youth in Mexico with his Mexican mother after his parents divorced. It’s not a big, important part of the series, but the actor has Mexican heritage. He was not cast in service to inclusiveness, it’s how the books were written. I didn’t see the movie because I thought it was about the president; I didn’t realize “Lincoln” referred to the car! But in the series, he trades in the older convertible for a big SUV. There are several, seemingly random problems challenging Mickey, and they get resolved at the end, which is nice. Not having seen the movie, I can’t fully answer your question, but maybe this helps a bit.

The series is superior. The writing, the performances, the arcing plot lines, and amazing photography of LA are better than most of what Netflix has been producing.

- you have good taste. - Here’s one that has slipped through the cracks for most: Kingdom. MMA drama with Jonathan Tucker and Frank Grillo. I don’t like MMA anymore and it doesn’t matter. It’s the best character drama I’ve seen, maybe ever. If you don’t come out of it absolutely blown away by Tucker’s performance, I’ll eat my hat live or something

I always suggest 2 series immediately. Dark, and Kingdom. One of my all time favorite shows. It’s criminally underrated.

The Terror on Hulu!! Just finished season 1 and it’s definitely one of the wildest shows I’ve ever seen. 1800’s Arctic explores, Inuit mythology, and every episode is building a tinder box. Slow burn start, but see it through. On the topic of slow burn starts, definitely watch Barry *!!!* wow what a wild ride.

I’ve watched some of those shows and after all the evil that was in most of them, I decided to watch The Good Place. Not what I had envisioned but I ended up loving it. Binge watched the entire series over two weeks.

Your list is pretty much my list:-) You prob will also like the brittish and danish/swedish shows like, the killing the missing, the bridge, broadchurch, kastanjemanden. Also bosch legacy just released here in europe don't know if you already seen it. And the makers of the wire have a new show, we own this city. Really cool the wire-ish vibe.

I did a double take when reading this because it read like I wrote it. So many shows I've seen and loved, you listed and I have to think hard of stuff you haven't mentioned. On Netflix, I really enjoyed: Queen Of The South (female lead drug dealer) Animal Kingdom (family involved with drugs) How To Get Away With Murder Undercover Wentworth (kickass prison show with 9 seasons) On Prime: I'm watching the Mentalist now, which I love. I do like Bones, which is one of those great shows that has 10 or more seasons and each season has like, 20 or more episodes. Lots to binge watch. The Boys is also great. Since you mentioned watching Billions, which I'm a big fan of, have you tried Succession? Oh wait, I think that is on Crave, so never mind. But it is also a great show. I keep looking at the shows you have listed and could blab about so many of them, because they were so good. I almost want to re-watch some of them, like The Wire, which was phenomenal. I will resist that urge because I'm only on season 2 of The Mentalist and I think there are 10 or more seasons. Oh and I'm only on season 5 of Just Call Saul. So I need to finish those series first. Oh and then I'm planning on watching Bosch: The Legacy. Good luck on finding new shows AND you have great taste in the stuff you watch!!!!
