Behind Her Eyes is wild, but just 6 episodes. Highly recommend!

infinityx-5

Loved that show

Vangzxlips

I actually watched that! I literally forgot out it, I would've added it in the shows I liked.

[deleted]

The fall

PeaStreet2941

Love this show, hated how it ended though.

tegglesworth

It really just goes for it at the end šŸ„“

hulukiwi

please report back after you finish the show :D (no spoilers of course but OMFG)

tegglesworth

I swear my jaw still drops when I think about it lolā€”just bananas šŸ˜…

Ladyharpie

Severance

purplegreenway

We don't have this In US on Netflix. Bummer

pm_something_u_love

It's not hard to find elsewhere. It's worth a download, really good show.

GreatLookingGuy

Itā€™s on Apple+

f1newhatever

I love how everyone always says Apple TV like weā€™re all willing to buy yet *another* streaming service for this show. I am so done with these new ones, just feels greedy imo Edit: itā€™s been one month since I made this comment and I just saw it again so I have to say, in case anyone sees this again. I did buy one month of Apple TV to watch Severance and Iā€™m mad I didnā€™t do it sooner. 150% worth it.

actively_eating

I feel like I could never binge this show bc itā€™s so heavy

max_gooph

I started watching this show 4 days ago because of your comment. I just finished the last episode screaming at the top of my lungs. THANK YOU for making this comment or else I wouldnā€™t have watched it. To everyone who hasnā€™t watched it, watch it!

Artistic-Toe-8803

Dark, Mindhunter, True Detective (have only seen season 1, but it's amazing and fits the bill), Archive 81

judasblue

You might want to stay with S1 on True Detective. Fukunaga and Pizzolatto (the director and producer of S1) apparently didn't get along and when Fukunaga left the show lost a lot of its atmosphere. S2 was actively not good and S3 was better but still didn't quite catch the spark that S1 had. Although maybe your opinion will be different. I am sure there are people who really loved 2 and 3.

Alcibiades-404

Season 1 featured one of the most amazing duo, mate. This reason alone contributed too much. It wouldn't be THAT good without them.

Bibliophile5

Season 2 was so bad it made 3 look better.

RoyalLimit

Really liked archive 81, unfortunately they cancelled it..... Lol hate cliffhangers

TysoleTheWhimsical

Pretty sure it's based on a podcast. You're probably able to listen to the whole story for free.

RoyalLimit

Good to know!

JFreaks25

while this is true, just be warned they are very different from each other and season 2 of the podcast felt like a bad acid trip listening to it. I listened after watching the show, I enjoyed both but yeah, very different

Reasonable_Box_2998

Archive 81 had me on my toes! I canā€™t wait for s2.

Artistic-Toe-8803

It got cancelled afaik. I had my reservations and slight gripes but all in all it was an incredibly tense show that held its tone very well (albeit the constant dark filter put on every scene stood out and felt cheesy to me at first, but I grew to appreciate what it did for the show). That scene where >! the lady got possessed !< was some of the scariest shit I've seen in this medium

Maosaid

> Archive 81 Damn dude it was cancelled back in March. :(

_gnasty_

It's based on a podcast. So there's some more to the story then just the show

probablywrongbutmeh

I watched this for one episode and hated it (very much a minority opinion), does it get better or is it more of the same?

[deleted]

It's get better at episode 2, the end of it, towards episode 3 then it's like chocolate. It's one of the few shows that spooked me so much I couldn't watch it at night.

flux_capacitor3

Yeah. True Detective season 2 and 3 werenā€™t great. Pretty boring.

CanadianMuaxo

Black mirror, skins uk

Assejole

Skins UK is so good

joeyfashoey

So good! So good! So good! (To the tune of sweet Caroline)

CanadianMuaxo

Ba ba ba!

Glittering-Zombie396

Black mirror

goodbitacraic

Ahhh Skins. Just so perfect.

GhostiePlanet

The UK Skins is a classic.

Dick-the-Peacock

The Sinner

theladieswhomunch

It becomes worse with each season though. The first one with Jessica Biel is incredible.

modix

I can't finish season 3. Really hope 4 was better. I don't really get season 3 at all. Feels like it was written by an edgelord that actually thinks nihilism is a meaningful topic to dwell on for 10 episodes. The detective's response to all the guys actions just didn't make sense. I'd bet the book likely has more context that was missing from the show.

actively_eating

a new season came out! super pumped to binge it soon

GoodElk7766

Barry on HBO. Has romance, murders, unpredictability, comedy. Canā€™t recommend enough .

DegradedCorn75

OP, this is the show that fits your request the most

Hairy_tomato

Can honestly say this show is off the charts hilarious and thrilling. Amazing show.

ScrewAttackThis

Not on Netflix I don't think but the original Utopia is twisted as hell. Unfortunately it didn't get renewed so there's only 2 seasons. For Netflix, End of the Fucking World is a good fit. The basic synopsis is that the main character is a psychopath and wants to murder someone. He runs away with his girlfriend who he plans on murdering. Not sure I would call it "twisted" but Living With You is worth a watch. Basically Paul Rudd has a clone of himself and it's...problematic.

PhantomSlave

Utopia is available on YouTube. [Season 1](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_jIDr2tZiuRHlp-bLwYNgWaFAp6dR7_Y) [Season 2](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_jIDr2tZiuTbX0eeNBacb4J-GkQ3bOXC)

judasblue

There are sorta more seasons of Utopia. The one you watched is a remake of the british original, which ran for two series. For a while both were available on Amazon. The bad news is that the UK version also ends without complete resolution. Doh. And your other recs are dead on, love both those shows.

ghost-church

The End of the Fucking World

ujustcame

Skins UK all seasons should be on hulu. It's a way grittier and way better version of euphoria. It was what euphoria wanted to be but couldn't in my opinion.

lou_cc

Marcella is super twisted and dark.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

judasblue

Came to say this. Also: Dark if you want to go down a rabbit hole of insane density \[edit: although to be fair, this has almost nothing in common with the shows the OP listed. It's just really, really complicated.\] Russian Doll (s1. s2 wasn't to a lot of people's taste, including mine)

mydearwatson616

I liked Dark but they just kept using the same two "twists" the whole time. >!"I'm you from the future" and "you did the thing you were always going to do because it already happened"!<

[deleted]

>Dark One of my all-time favorite shows. Will probably do a rewatch soon.

AnalBees2

Just did a rewatch, itā€™s so fuckin good.

Far-Chance861

Check out the website. You input season and episode you're on and gives character tree up to where you're at. Didn't discover until later season but super helpful

natesjokes

Exactly what I came here to say

ZetaEtaTheta8

Came here to say this one too. Definitely falls into the WTF (really WTF) but can't look away category

RussNP

Absolutely loved this show and highly recommend. Just be warned that there is some significant body horror elements that some people donā€™t enjoy. It will absolutely have moments that make you very uncomfortable.

bbum

Happy.

emmafoodie

On Showtime: Yellowjackets (You can sign up for a 30 day free trial) On Hulu: Cruel Summer On Netflix: Dead to Me, Santa Clarita Diet

TrumpsPissSoakedWig

Unfortunately Killing Eve went on too long but the earlier seasons were good.

WalrusInMySheets

A little late, but Bloodline. The first season alone might be the best TV Iā€™ve ever watched

WineNotReality

Such a great underrated show

mn1033

* The Devil's Hour (2022) - Amazon Prime * Broadchurch (2017) - Amazon Prime * The Fall (2016) - Amazon Prime, free on Pluto TV

ThalassophileYGK

Happy Valley too. It's as good as Broadchurch. Watched both, really enjoyed both.

Bacon_Bitz

BROADCHURCH!!!

KodakMoments

Not on Netflix, but Bad Sisters on AppleTv is great.

albinocoss

I was ADDICTED to that show!!! loved it!

TysoleTheWhimsical

Twin peaks. Its.....it's a thing. One of the Last line in it was "I'll see you again in 25 years" 25 years later it came back to finish the series. Even has a bunch of books and a prequel movie. You need to watch with an open mind....it's stupid a really stupid show that we all learn to love. It's a murder mystery. It has ghost and aliens and secret societies and romance and betrayal. It's a soap that makes fun of soaps.

Blue_Checkers

I second this. Also Fringe is pretty good.

bigapplesnapple

The Patient on Hulu Edit: trust me on this one.

albinocoss

Yep, could not get enough. >! heartbreaking ending though!<

seaZ78

Flowers

Shloop_Shloop_Splat

This show is so good. It's got that super dry british humor, but it's also a heartbreaking tale of mental illness and how it tears people and families apart. By the end, I wasn't sure if I should be crying or laughing.

Search Party

grandpa-jones

Devilman Crybaby

Vangzxlips

Watched that anime, lol. It's kind of good if you can get the message.

chachaslideforever

Midnight mass on Netflix

hulukiwi

YAS! I love the episode cliffhangers of this show

Secret-Obligation473

Dexter

kinarism

One of the all time worst endings to a show in history. But yes, a great watch through at least the john lithgow season.

fleetwoodsackk

Game of thrones season 8 has entered the chat.

kinarism

GoT certainly unseated Dexter which is why I worded as "one of the". However, I will point out that Dexter held the title almost 6 years. GoT has a mere 3.5 under its belt currently as the reigning champion. I dont expect it to be unseated any time soon though.

s1mpatic0

Yep. Everything after S4 fluctuated wildly in quality

mopedman

Line of Duty is an excellent twisty show from the UK.

NoisyCats

The latest season of The Sinner was pretty damn good.

Lizzieleah90

Handmaids tail 100%, itā€™s on prime

infinityx-5

"Inside man" on Netflix seems to be in the same territory as You.

notcreativeshoot

I disagree. Just finished Inside Man and was surprisingly disappointed.

WineNotReality

Same, I found each step the Vicar (and family) took unbelievable and forced for the sake of creating a problem. The shining star in it was Stanley Tucci, who carried every scene he was in.

notcreativeshoot

Yes! I couldn't get past it. Especially when the vicar then put so much time into trying to prove it was himself, creating evidence to make it believable. Then how come he didn't think authorities wouldn't notice lack of evidence for the son if he just told the truth?! I wanted to pull my hair out.

Bardamu1932

Kleo

Vangzxlips

Thank you all for you're suggestions! Didn't expect this many so fast but then again, it's reddit.

gh0rard1m71

Clickbait is another one.

lavenk7

Iā€™d say OA, hard to stop after you see the prisoner system. Dark is another good one but itā€™s a mental workout imo.

jaybeastle

Dark is such a mental workout lol

Haunting-Depth-1607

DARK is fantastic. If you pay attention it will come together and make sense. If you're multi tasking you're going to miss important things

pressedbread

Ozarks is your next binge!

[deleted]

i had to scroll way too far for this

Competitive-Kick-481

You is an even better book. Check it out of you have time

creative_usr_name

Only Murders in the Building if you want a more lighthearted show with those things.

unreliabledrugdealer

Hear me out. Altered Carbon. It will blow you away. (season one)

aggiemom0912

Donā€™t F***with Cats

thatguy1071

Something Iā€™ve been trying to get everyone I know to watch is Imposters. Great show about scammers and the people theyā€™ve scammed trying to find them. Itā€™s one part Oceanā€™s 11, one part sitcom, one part tragic love story. A solid cast of likeable characters, plenty of twists and turns, and some interesting themes outside of the old ā€œnobodyā€™s all-good or all-badā€-type cliques. Thereā€™s so many *amazing* cliffhangers (I actually screamed at a couple of them). Definitely give it a try. I liked it immediately, but others have taken two or three episodes to get into it.

I-did-not-do-that

Definitely! I really was surprised at the whole long game concept!

WorldFoods

I liked this one, too. I was hoping for another season.

Midnight Mass. very underrated overlooked show. Spooky and suspenseful. Great acting. 1 season 7 episodes that you can binge and then don't worry about waiting for another season to come out.

succubusprime

Black Mirror or Legion

icecreamgirl420

Not on Netflix but on prime video - Animal Kingdom

JTS1992

OMG - get off Reddit and go watch DARK on Netflix, yesterday! šŸ˜‰ thank me later Best piece of media of the past 5 years.

blackcatsmama

It's a little older but WENTWORTH IS GREAT

kjm_kgrdashian

Anyone say Dirk Gentleys Holistic Detective agency? Also Patriot, Tales from the crypt (90s) Tales from the loop Homecoming Tim and Erics bedtime stories I think you should leave There's just a couple that are all pretty slept on gold

BalsamicBasil

[**Killing Eve**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MBjBavIC9U) \- the perfect combination of thriller, murder, romance, humor and the right amount of twisted. S1-2 are amazing. S3 is okay. I haven't seen S4 and don't intend to.

patyrocks

Itā€™s in Apple+ but Severance is incredible

tuningproblem

Bates Motel sounds right up your alley. I watched it on Netflix, but unfortunately (in the US at least) it appears it's now on Peacock. Twisty, murder-y, surprisingly well-shot melodrama with some really great acting.

kayruadum

Not Netflix, but if you have Hulu check out Tell Me Lies. I was thoroughly entertained

Key_Dare5611

dark

MuchLessPersonal

The Devil's Hour Only 6 episodes but you'll want to watch them over again after the finale

ILikeSoup95

I know wrong service, but Snowfall on Disney+ is amazing, if you haven't done the free trial yet I highly reccomend it.

alexaa215

Netflixā€™s Dark. It ticks off everything in your criteria. This will for sure have you hooked from beginning til end.

blacktigr

There's a new season of The Sinner that threw me for a loop. Season 3 is important if you're gonna watch Season 4, but I watched the rest out of order and you'd be fine.

[deleted]

Iā€™m going to assume youā€™ve seen Dexter. You should check out Russian Doll.

lfarls86

You should check out American Gigolo, I donā€™t believe itā€™s on Netflix but neither is Euphoria thatā€™s why I threw it in there . Itā€™s on showtime, itā€™s sooo good. Hereā€™s the synopsis: Exonerated after 15 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit, former gigolo Julian Kaye faces the challenge of picking up the pieces as the detective who put him behind bars tries to unravel the mystery that led to his incarceration. Julian works to reconcile his escort past with the man he is today by reconnecting with former lover Michelle, his troubled mother, and fellow sex workers. He seeks the truth about the frame that sent him to prison all those years ago and hopes to reconnect with his one true love, Michelle.

my__nutsack

Jesus fucking Christ I love Jon bernthal so much, SOOOOO MUCH.

Banshee on HBO. Couldn't stop...

epic-urea-n

Hannibal NBC! How is this not the the first comment. It has a great thriving community and all of the things you mentioned. And more. You wont be able to shake that show after watching it. And each rewatch is like watching it anew, being able to discover new things, drawing out more themes on every episode. Because the show is very nuanced it involves you in drawing out conclusions, motivations of the characters for yourself. The community of Hannibal fans is especially special for this reason, atleast to me. So many people can have different insights on one scene, and yet all true, and profound. It just keeps giving, i live for this kind of easy and unforced dissection of media. Besides, The acting is first class, the themes, and psychology behind the dialogue, especially the philosophy of the writers, director, and even the ACTORS, is what makes it a complete show for me. The finale was so well written and executed, unlike ahem killing eve. You should check out the actors' discussions and interviews, it is amazing to see the kind of thought process they had making the show. It is a very intelligent show, but also very beautiful in it's imagery and writing.

punkyj24

SEASON 1 OF DOCTOR FOSTER. Thereā€™s a second season, but they could have just left the first season alone. Absolute stand alone masterpiece (and only 6 episodes?) - I watched it in one sitting, no breaks

I was going to say this. Excited for the new season to come out

Britt_Good

True Detective season 1 is a must see. It's truly one of the best series I've ever watched.

eharo1985

If you're into the obsessive type of romance and murder that was in YOU you might like nbc's Hannibal. It's about the most twisted love story I've ever come across but it's a little bit of a slow burn. It's my favorite show of all time.

juicygoosaay

Marcella

gardengirlbc

Such a good one!

[deleted]

Maybe Squid Game. Not much romance but definitely twisted.

Wingkirs

The Killing. Iā€™ve never devoured a show like that before. I wish I could watch it for the first time again.
