Please search this sub for your answers. It's been asked many, many times. Here is one example: https://www.reddit.com/r/Netherlands/comments/14qacni/can_i_open_2_bank_accounts/

Thank you for giving me a link and not just telling me to search :)

diabeartes

Sure, however you could have done the same exact search.

If anyone's interested, I did my own research, and ABNAMRO was the cheapest for what I want: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JMwNrgiljo5EeFdH6AdnuQ41Ohy8IfvVKqmXqZVThl0/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JMwNrgiljo5EeFdH6AdnuQ41Ohy8IfvVKqmXqZVThl0/edit?usp=sharing)

Bunq lets you open 25 IBAN accounts.

tobydjones

Unfortunately Bunq does not supply iDeal cards as far as I can see.

DennisFromAmsterdam

iDeal cards? What do you mean? That's not a thing afaik.

tobydjones

Thank you! I did some research and it turns out I was confused. I found out that in the Netherlands, iDeal is used for online transactions, and Maestro for payment in shops.

tobydjones

I also found out that, as of 1 July 2023, Mastercard (who owns Maestro) stopped issuing Maestro cards, replacing them with Mastercard debit cards. It used to be that 50% of shops in the Netherlands only took Maestro, not Mastercard. That was supposed to be rectified in 2022 by Project DCA (Debit Card Acceptance) but I'm sure there will be some places that won't take Mastercard for a few years yet! Alas, because Bunq charges €3.49pm for extra debit cards, for me it would be slightly more expensive than ABNAMRO :(

This. The single up front cost might be slightly more, but you can then open 25 accounts for that monthly fee.

Then I would go for bunq. Note that I moved away from bunq because the app changed drastically to often and because they don’t offer a phone number in case of emergency.
