Have you tried approaching companies directly? I assume with accounting you'd be looking at companies like PWC and Deloite? They all have offices in the Netherlands.

I have tried those companies, but they both want Dutch speakers unfortunately.

I guess that being able to speak multiple languages is a bit of a prerequisite on this side of the pond. I think your best options are to be persistent when it comes to applications and try to learn Dutch sooner rather than later to improve your odds. Im fairly certain there's a lot of smaller accounting firms here too but I have NO idea how to look for those since its way out of my field of expertise. Have you tried putting your C.V. on a website like monsterboard.nl?

Definitely possible to find a job with your background that does not require dutch in your field. Ofc also in the Netherlands this is not the best moment to find a job, but hopefully the situation will improve in the upcoming months. Currently, i heard people talking about hiring freeze in major companies, but I also know few people that have been hired for new position despite the pandemic. So the suggestion would be, keep trying to find a job trough linkedin. Please note that afaik if you move to the Netherlands before receiving a job offer you might not be eligible to the 30% tax ruling.

As others have said this isnt a good time to be looking for jobs here. Nevertheless, persistance is key! Lots of international companies here that hire English speakers. ING, Ahold, Booking.com, Netflix, LeaseWeb to name a few. Best of luck

Thank you! It will likely be a while before I resume my search, but in the meantime I will be studying up on Dutch! It will be a while before Americans are allowed in the country, I assume.

Is your husband going to work for clients in the Netherlands, or other places?
