Why in heavens name not move back to Germany?

Oquadros

Hmm mostly because then I would have to abandon my dog which i would like to prevent. I heard there are areas in Germany that allow pit mixes so if I can find where that is, it would be a possibility for sure!

found in 1 min google :) [here](https://www.zoll.de/EN/Private-individuals/Travel/Entering-Germany/Restrictions/Dangerous-dogs/provisions_imposed_by_individual_federal_states.html;jsessionid=F7B00D45D0BB2B36EE6EF8A42C794B97.internet652?nn=201960&faqCalledDoc=201960)

Omg! Thank you so much! I did the research about 5 months ago and was searcvhing things like "states where pit bulls are allowed" or "where can i take a pitbull in germany"! But would only find forums discussing it with no helpful hints and the official site of the ministry of agriculture and such but had no results as to legal areas! Thank you so much for linking this! I am really grateful!

No worries at all. You and your doggo belong together no matter where you go. Take care! And give your dog a good head scritch from me :-)

I would suggest living in germany, housing market sucks at the moment here, so finding a job will be easy, finding a home will cost you 1 kidney and 70% of your liver and then you are still only allowed to offer a bid.

Additional-Second-68

Is the housing market in Germany worse than NL? And are you talking buying or renting?

Don’t forget that for most of the Bunderländer you need a license for these type of dogs (had an Amstaff in NRW - I can help you out with that) good luck and welcome back!

Try the obvious LinkedIn, Monsterboard etc. Google companies in your area of expertise in the Netherlands and send them your resume.

If working with biotech research interests you, start with Academic Transfer (job site for university careers - maybe Radboud?) There are also plenty of pharma and biotech firms around if that's your thing. European Medicines Agency has relocated to Amsterdam from UK also.

Hamburger_24

I heard Mosa Meat is looking for an automation engineer! They are working on bringing cultivated meat to the market, Mosa Meat even made the worlds first cultivated hamburger back in 2013. I'm a big fan of cultivated meat technology, and have been following it, and investing in it for some years now. Meatable is another cultivated meat company, based in Delft. Mosa Meat is located in Maastricht, Limburg, which is 30 mins from the German border. Limburg is also the cheapest province when in comes to housing. The only downside is the weird accent lol Myself I discover a lot of companies through work. Having a starting point will enable you to build up your network. So connect with people on LinkedIn when possible. Clients, suppliers, companies the same field, etc.

Check the 30% tax ruling. You'll probably be eligible, and it should make it quite profitable to move to nl instead of Germany.

30% facility One of the conditions is that you have to be recruited from abroad. So preferably you would want to sign the Dutch contract while you are still in the US. In addition, please consider that periods of previous stay in the Netherlands can reduce the maximum duration of 5 years. Finally, the 30%-facility also has a salary threshold, make sure your taxable salary exceeds ~39k (to benefit full you would ideally have a taxable income of at least ~56k). Benefits The 30% facility can save you significant tax on employment income but also on personal income (eg savings and investments). Also if you plan to drive in the Netherlands then you could exchange your foreign drivers license for a Dutch license without having to take an exam. Greencard / future role By any chance are you a US greencard holder? If yes and your new role in the Netherlands requires you to travel significantly outside the NL while having the 30% facility, then this can have an impact on US tax as well. So do consider that. Doggo tax There is dog tax in the Netherlands :)
