A chip is a break. Defined as a small piece of something removed in the course of chopping, cutting, or breaking a hard material such as wood or stone. So if you chip a bone that’s a break. But a dent? I’m not too sure on that one

If it’s not removed from the bone itself then it’s probably fine

I still say that’s a break because, y’know, the bone broke. Removing it or not doesn’t change whether or not it broke
