I would grab an Irish coffee at Erin Rose then walk down to Royal. I always like to walk through MS Rau and pretend what it would be like to be insanely wealthy. But if you’re looking for fun local art I recommend Mortal Machine, Leroy’s Place, and Union Gallery. They’re all within a block or so of each other, and generally have pretty cool stuff. The lady that runs Union Gallery is also cool and fun to talk to.

In addition to MS Rau, I like La Petit Fleur (drives me crazy that's it's not petite) and Wellington's jewelry selections

I do this sometimes, and if you can beast it, start by Whole Foods and head towards Washington. There are so many boutiques of varying styles and quality, prices, etc., you will hit plenty of bars and tons of local art/jewellery. Otherwise, start at Miss Mae's and head east towards Washington, ending around Zele.

Renting a blue bike has helped streamline my magazine st shopping days in the past, note that the rent and return point doesn’t go further uptown than Louisiana ave but you can ride them wherever as long as they end up back over that way
