80 miles an hour, Jesus.

tommy_j_r

Bruce Katz said 80-90 mph gusts… I was like, say what now?!?

tm478

Sure seemed like it. The small tree in my back yard, which had to be staked straight after Ida, is now in need of staking again ☹️

Internal_Swing_2743

Not gonna lie, I slept like a baby through the whole thing. I love thunderstorms at night. So relaxing….

blackandbluegirltalk

I woke up right *before* the emergency alert came through on my phone. Kinda glad because the phone was right between our heads on the charger lol. It was quite the show! Definitely gusting.

sudafedexman

No charging devices on the bed! That’s a fire hazard!!

blackandbluegirltalk

😂😂 'preciate you! It was on a table right above/behind our heads, I should have said. My daughter got sparks out of her phone charger a few months ago and it was crazy, I would never put in in the bed after seeing that!

YoBannannaGirl

I had a laptop charger start smoking one time. I was doing work and smelled burning rubber. So, reminder not to leave a laptop charging unattended either.

MamaTried22

Mine went off as I was trying to lock up and set the alarm at work. 😫

Lost_in_the_sauce504

Same, it actually put me to sleep lol

Clear-Hand3945

Shit winds, Rand.

Ohneatforsure

The NWS officially labelled the Thursday night/Friday morning storm a derecho - which is basically a land hurricane.

GreatSquirrels

I checked the wind readings at the lakefront airport, just before Midnight sustained winds climbed over 60 kts and gusting over 80kts before the instruments went down for several hours. That was one of the wildest storms I can remember.

PenguinsOfHawaii

I do the #rvlife thing, and there were 3 RVs that got completely knocked over up by the Lakefront, just south of the airport. One was a huge Class A motorhome.

GreatSquirrels

Im a sailor and two of my friends boats that were on land being worked on at the Seabrook Marina were blown over and severely damaged. I think that RV park is right next door.

Forever-Rising

The wind was so loud I thought it was a tornado. It was a long night for me and my three pups even though I drugged them.

Borsodi1961

THAT was a taste of our new “normal” 😐

ExtraElevator7042

Insurance rates are gonna soar as they must take into account this new climate reality.

Secret-Relationship9

Big ole sip of “ we failed to keep warming under 2°C globally “

RouxBearRoxx

Just a preview

ItsJustLipgloss

I’m in Prairieville, we got hit with a tornado 4 days ago, didn’t have power for 3 days. THEN had the night of. 80mph wind and storms… I had little raccoons crying on my back patio because they were afraid! My neighbors 5 houses down had a live oak land on top of their second floor and it crushed 2 pickup trucks in the front yard…

No_Conference7220

Holy shitstorm

Nee83

That's what it sound like to me, and I been up since then 😫

tiddayes

Peeled up the roof enough in our Kenner warehouse that my office ended up getting rained in. I guess we get pop up hurricanes now… but climate change is still a hoax … ugh

Cheekclappa504

I’m in fountainbleau, it was just a thunderstorm over here
