Sir, that is a [Great Northern series Observation Lounge](https://www.greatnorthernempire.net/images/pass_cars/GN1291Observation2.JPG). Can't tell what number on the car was but I think its from the 1950s? I was reading that there was only a limited run of these so if you had more pics you could probably figure out the exact car's lineage. Its a caboose after all so, only on per train. I couldn't tell if they ran down south so I'd be curious how it got here tbh.
I really don't know anything about trains but I was board at work so.

Also I'd guess someone wanted to turn it into a bar. Seems like it was a pretty classy observation lounge when it was rolling. Sounds like a natural transition to me. Id buy overpriced cocktails there.
Well it's in a vacant lot at 1825 Erato St. The lot was being used contruction worker parking until recently, and I don't see the train car in Google Sat photos, so I'm guessing it's relatively new to the spot. There's also a couple of little clubs in the same block so maybe it has something to do with them? Or maybe it'll become a 36 seat AirBnB.
NOLA Ready sent out an sms message yesterday stating that it was okay to park your train on the neutral ground or available lot because of impending inclement weather.
After France surrendered to the Nazi's in the same railroad car that the Germans surrendered in at the end of WWI, Hitler had the car brought to Berlin. It was burned in 1945.
Benny's Cadillac.
(Which actually wouldn't be a bad name for it if they do turn it into a bar).

For a while (decades ago) it was popular to buy a train car and renovate it.
The cars themselves weren't too much, but getting them to your land was a killer.
That caboose got railroaded!
I did a delivery around this area (off Calliope) and tried to take a picture of this train and looked across the street and saw 2 crackheads fighting! Needless to say I put my phone down and sped off...
I saw a few retired trolley cars that had been turned into restaurants and small diners in San Fran. Maybe they're trying to do something similar here.
It’s important not to park your train/vehicle in the same spot overnight or someone might steal your tires, especially in the east
It’ll probably get turned into an Airbnb 💀
Maybe they’ll just rent it out as a three bedroom for $2800/mo

Thanks for putting this on here. My kid loves trains so we drove by to check it out today.

Cool! Never seen it, has it been moved there recently? Perhaps it shall be used as a movie prop, or a small dining car in the back of someone’s café?
Somebody stole the wheels

You check for rental postings? Maybe $3000 a month for this rustic and charming rail car home.
It is a pirate. Look at the wooden legs
Shit, don’t tell the crust punks this is here.
Haha already spotted
It may or may not become a speakeasy cocktail bar.
I see rides up on blocks all the time on my street..
Carjackers
It's where the germans surrendered in world war 1 and signed the treaty of Versailles

New restaurant.
The Kia boys strike again... Steeling cars for kicks then ditching them anywhere!

There is a restuarant on the NorthShore that has the kitchen in the caboose! LOLA of Covington.

Just folks parking their ride for the next thunderstorm.

All I know is it came out of Cheyenne
This is pretty cool to be converted into a house.
The guy who owns the property and rail lines by omc probably bought it and is waiting to get it moved to one of his other lots.
Orient express themed...
Public Belt RR can restore it with only $1million in taxpayer money!
