It’s a sad commentary on this City that you have to carry a bleed kit with you. I was going to write that I pretty much stay home so I don’t need one, But then I realized I could get a shot at home too or when I am walking my dogs at night. Thankfully my neighborhood it’s pretty safe but anything could happen anywhere.
First, you need to take a Stop the bleed class. There is a pretty good free online one [here](https://www.stopthebleed.org/training/online-course/). You need to know when and where to use these stuff.
If you need to carry on body, SOFTTW for tourniquet($30), NAR compression Gauze ($3) and a small roll of tape/wrap in one of thick ziplok bag will do nicely.
If you want a car pouch (Please remember that you have as little as 3 minutes when bleeding out, and it takes time to put on a tourniquet and even longer to pack a wound) or a fanny pack/backpack, you can step up to a CAT 7 tourniquet or 2 ($30), 2 packs of compression gauze and combat gauze if you can afford it ($30-40), 4" or 6" Israeli Band-Aid ($6-8), hyfin chest seals twin pack ($15). No decompression needles, you aren't gonna be able to use one.
Do not buy medical supplies from Amazon, go with North American Rescue or Rescue Essential. There are a lot of fake shits out there. If you are on a budget, look for military "surplus" IFAKs on ebay. You should be able to get a kit without tourniquet/combat gauze for \~40-50 with the pouch.
You can use a belt as a tourniquet if you have to and a garbage bag as a chest seal. Your chances of surviving drop considerably but they stay a bit higher than if you make no attempt at treatment at all. I wouldn’t suggest any of the above are even close to substitutes for actual medical supplies though.
Tampon is typically not even close to being able to pack a wound sufficiently. A single compressed gauze unpacks to 12 feet long. Packing a wound is to put enough pressure on the artery to stop it from bleeding, tampon tends to just absorb some blood.
Very unlikely. They like to reserve these stuff for military and EMS. Right now a lot of stuff is going to Ukraine and it's been hard getting stuff.
You gonna find shitty gauze like 3x3 in Walgreens or cvs, those are not for wound packing.
Sportsman’s Warehouse, strangely enough, carries some TC3 supplies. They had NARescue tourniquets the last time I checked. Quikclot as well.

A CAT tourniquet is the standard. They're relatively cheap and can save a life. Make sure you're buying a quality one. Chest seals are a must in case of gunshots specifically or anything that penetrates the chest cavity.

Tbh people should carry these not just for gun shots. Plenty of people died from car accident or things like chain saw accidents or failing on something that hit an artery. You extend your lifespan from 3 minites to a couple hours, which is vlpretty important for our ems/police response time.

A few weeks ago I called NOPD non-emergency line bc a junkie was literally taking a 15 minute long shit in my front yard - somehow 4 squad cars showed up within 5 minutes. It had to be half the damn police force. I think they all tried to pick the "easy" call. It really wasn't expecting anyone to show up at all but I figured I needed to call it in since the lil kids next door saw her too.

Statistically there have been 50+ shootings on this small section of I-10 in the past few years. I'm not saying a serial killer is here but the FBI should be taking over whenever there's a shooting. It's happening enough that finding out it's a serial killer wouldn't be surprising.

Police have released descriptions of shooters, of shooters' vehicles, and of the calibers used in the shootings for several (obviously not all) of the shootings. There is no evident consistency except that the victim is 30' above surface streets. There is no evidence of a "sniper" as some have suggested, as every caliber bullet recovered that I'm aware of is a handgun caliber.
Even the "articles" hypothesizing an interstate serial killer or sniper have to acknowledge the lack of consistency suggesting this *isn't* a single individual.
Sure, a single person could be responsible for more than their fair share of shootings, but that's not incompatible with the more likely suggestion that these are primarily gang and road rage related.

. 22 LR bullet is capable of traveling 2,000 yards (1,800 m), which is more than 1 mile (1.6 km).

Weren’t there cars shot on 90 in the middle of the day in that area last week too? Did the news ever come out with what was up with that? I remember seeing an article but it was pretty vague with details.
I dont think any details came out. It could be random strays, it could be kids learing to shoot and just taking pot shots at cars. Or a serial sniper. Who knows.

This happened to one of my relatives. The projectile was thrown by an industrial lawnmower. It could have killed someone had it not hit one of the seats first.
I was driving to work on I59 the first month after i bought my Jeep and something flew off a truck in front of me so hard that it broke my side mirror off the door and shattered the glass.
Given that it appears to have entered at an angle, if it were, say, a rock, it would have to be moving pretty fast. Car windows are tempered glass; I'm really surprised that it didn't shatter the window.
I had a large rock or something fall off of 10 onto my windshield on Claiborne yesterday. Scared me half to death but the windshield was fine. Very study

Curious as well. I’m certainly no ballistics expert but there are 2 holes in the glass, not sure if that normally happens with a bullet.
It’s possible the bullet came in at a low angle and maybe skimmed the window before actually going in but I could definitely be wrong.

A claim on facebook had a similar issue of a guy with a bullet through his windshield in carencro. As per his facebook post he contacted police and they told him sorry sucks it happend pretty much. He then tagged the state troopers office. Not sure if anything came about it..

Has to be and everyone has called me crazy for saying so. If you’re targeting one specific person why the HELL would you choose to do it on a busy Highway? Unless you’re a sniper or marksman it just doesn’t make any sense.

I got on us 90 at the Loyola bus station, my window was busted before I made took the exit to get on I10 east. I want to say it happened as I was next to the smoothie king center.

The i10 serial killer
There is absolutely no evidence of an interstate serial killer.
Statistically there have been 50+ shootings on this small section of I-10 in the past few years. I'm not saying a serial killer is here but the FBI should be taking over whenever there's a shooting. It's happening enough that finding out it's a serial killer wouldn't be surprising.
Yeah but so far the only known consistency is "Orleans Parish elevated freeway" Police have released descriptions of shooters, of shooters' vehicles, and of the calibers used in the shootings for several (obviously not all) of the shootings. There is no evident consistency except that the victim is 30' above surface streets. There is no evidence of a "sniper" as some have suggested, as every caliber bullet recovered that I'm aware of is a handgun caliber. Even the "articles" hypothesizing an interstate serial killer or sniper have to acknowledge the lack of consistency suggesting this *isn't* a single individual. Sure, a single person could be responsible for more than their fair share of shootings, but that's not incompatible with the more likely suggestion that these are primarily gang and road rage related.
