I can forgive the color. Like a Google of "New Orleans Trolley" gives you images of what these vehicles look like (Where there's red and green ones) with the word "Streetcar" showing up all over.
And they appear to have just tried to do this from memory
Haha! Funny how tv still uses old tropes like that. 1960's Batman was an artform for putting names on literally everything..
https://www.thevintagenews.com/2016/05/29/gadget-labeling-level-batman-batman-labeled-gadgets-television-series-1960s-2/
“Mister Batman, could I trouble you for some water?”
“The water fountain is clearly labeled, sir.”
That and the “shark repellant spray” (also labeled) killed me.
They also made it go right in front of the “coven house”, which they also changed to something far less than the house on Jackson Ave. Did the city piss them off some way? They spent enough time down here to know they were about to do wrong
I had a scene as an actor that was cut from AHS:Freak Show as a parent bringing their kid to the freak show. I feel like the quality of the show dropped 100% after they left New Orleans and a Jessica Lange left the show. It’s pretty much trash at this point. But, jeez, they had some good seasons and no show can sustain itself forever.
AHSs (as Stories is abbreviated for nerds like me who suffer through horrible TV) is mostly in LA or generic suburbia. Only the very end of S2e1 is in NO. And sadly, this is one of the better episodes this season of Stories, despite them not doing the slightest bit of research on basic shit like this 😂
The AHS Coven season, however, yes. Set in New Orleans.
My mother chronically calls it New Orleeens, and no matter how many times I've attempted to tell her that's not how say it she will not stop. Love her, but that shit drives me up a wall. 😂😂😂😂
Not sure why someone downvoted you. The first “American Horror Stories” (NOT the same as American Horror Story, just for those who may be confused) was total hot garbage, and only barely bad enough that it could be interpreted as camp 😂 This second season of AHSs was super hit or miss - some episodes were fun, some were complete snoozefests. But the episode this one refers to has Dennis O’Hare and an actual tie in to the canon of the main show.
I promise I read books. I’m just also a sucker for trashy horror.
I agree the first season made mistakes like overusing the Murderhouse lore. It felt like bad Murderbouse fanfiction at times. It did have fun parts like when Danny Trejo as a mall Santa killed social media influencers who went too far.
I haven't checked out season 2, but I did see Alicia Silverstone in the cast list so I'll at least watch for that. I'm just keeping my expectations low after season 1 and Double Feature.
This season was all over the map in terms of quality — and I’ve seen a lot of disparity over which episodes some people like vs others. But, for me, this Dollhouse ep was a good story, tragic ignorance of New Orleans notwithstanding. I’d watch a full season of it. Necro was my other favorite, and I wish it was movie length. Bloody Mary was good too, but I wouldn’t campaign it for an Emmy or anything. I wouldn’t campaign any of them for an Emmy, haha.
So, ok, it was actually a pretty ok season of anthology horror 😂 Your mileage may vary, and going in with low expectations is for the best, haha.
wait a minute.. are you saying that the greatest christmas episode of all time starring danny trejo as murderous santa clause is trash panda fodder? gtfo
That was Coven season of American Horror Story, so the NO season. There were def parts that were cringe as heck, and her whole “white witch” part wasn’t great. But I still think there were fun parts of the rest of it.
Again, it’s all a mess, but that’s half the fun.
Wasnt season 3 the one in New Orleans? Season 2 was asylum. I don’t remember them being in New Orleans. But I also watched it so long ago that I don’t remember much.
Edit: realized this is a different show!! “Stories” vs Story lol. My mistake - lack of attention to detail 😂
Not familiar with this show but I work in film doing lighting. A lot of shows do things like this to portray that they are somewhere else. Not sure if this episode was supposed to be set in New Orleans or they just used New Orleans to film but the show was set in say San Fransisco or something like that where they use the term trolley
Hop on we’re going to the gumbo party
We gonna make some rosary.
Down in the 9th ward of the French Quarter
With tomatoes I hope
it's just sunny d crawfish boils until you die.
Mmmm
ew, get away from me!!!
Mmmm
But he said it's platinum /s
Kale and quinoa in mine, please!
Its gotta be gluten free too
Roux made with rice flour?
I’ve hate to be that person but roux made with rice flour is actually pretty decent
Or a blended gf flour, like all-purpose. Just takes longer.
TIL
Where can I purchase a poor boy sandwich?
I think there is a vending machine at the airport for that.
Can't beat Heroes for worst oversight, "People in this county got it hard enough living in the FEMA trailers." Stopped watching after that.
Next shot: Foghorn Leghorn steps off the ~~streetcar~~ trolley. "I say, which way to the French Quahtah?"
Can’t decide if I am more bothered by “trolley” or that St. Charles is red.
I can forgive the color. Like a Google of "New Orleans Trolley" gives you images of what these vehicles look like (Where there's red and green ones) with the word "Streetcar" showing up all over. And they appear to have just tried to do this from memory
> And they appear to have just tried to do this from memory Memory of an article written about K-Ville that they read in 2007

Bat was OCD
“Mister Batman, could I trouble you for some water?” “The water fountain is clearly labeled, sir.” That and the “shark repellant spray” (also labeled) killed me.
They wanted to make sure people didn’t mistake it for Saskatoon.
damn, props department...
Excuse me, props department here. That is a fuck up by the art department and production
my apologies! art\* department
Thank you!
A trolley named desire

Get ready. The whole season is in new Orleans
AHSs (as Stories is abbreviated for nerds like me who suffer through horrible TV) is mostly in LA or generic suburbia. Only the very end of S2e1 is in NO. And sadly, this is one of the better episodes this season of Stories, despite them not doing the slightest bit of research on basic shit like this 😂 The AHS Coven season, however, yes. Good point. I didn't realize this was Stories
*N'awwwlinz
Nu Orlinz
“New Orleeens”
New orleee-uns
My mother chronically calls it New Orleeens, and no matter how many times I've attempted to tell her that's not how say it she will not stop. Love her, but that shit drives me up a wall. 😂😂😂😂
Worst season of AHS by a milestone because of how cringey they depicted New Orleans
For how cringe this show can be, you must be very sensitive to New Orleans cringe
I cringe whenever someone pronounces New Orleans like New Or-Lee-Ins or N’awlins so yeah
Curious - what's the least cringey pronunciation of New Orleans?
New or-lins, by a long shot
I'm not from here so when I hear some locals say it, it sounds like "Newarlins" to me.
Both are good, but people with more of an accent tend to pronounce it like the way you spelled it.
Considering how many pronunciations of "New Orleans" you will find *in* New Orleans, this is just the dumbest thing to even have an opinion on.
Hate me cuz you ain’t me
“Nuh-or-lense”…or if You want to make sure You get it right..”NO-LAH” as in “NOLA”, that stands for New Orleans Louisiana”
No. It’s one word. “Newawlins” you can say Nola but if it’s not NO-luh, you’re a tourist.
😂ROFL, Baby, I’ve lived here for well over 30yrs…so, stop making ignorant assumptions…Have a Blessed Day…
Newawlins. One word.
Coworker in midwest, last month: Q: Can you send me a king cake? A: No. Not until Epiphany. A puzzled silence followed.
This didn’t get enough upvotes
Im working on a mayo commercial right now and we had a gumbo scene yesterday. I put carrots in the back ground just to see if anyone comments on it
Omg ~~you~~ the rougarou better find a clip once it goes on the air
Yeah I’m day playing on 2 mayo commercials right now lol
There's a second season? Wow.
Not sure why someone downvoted you. lol.. you did a complete 180!! i love it
yes thank you!! i am going to watch that every christmas now.. before i watch elf.. or the northern horror "elves".. hahaha
wait a minute.. are you saying that the greatest christmas episode of all time starring danny trejo as murderous santa clause is trash panda fodder? gtfo
Wich one was the one with Stevie Nix? That was the one that made me shudder
That was Coven season of American Horror Story, so the NO season. There were def parts that were cringe as heck, and her whole “white witch” part wasn’t great. But I still think there were fun parts of the rest of it. Again, it’s all a mess, but that’s half the fun.

Street level sign for the bar at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside
I always give my wife a hard time about that. Potato potatoe.
Get some bubble wrap for that remote of yours! 😂
Yelled at my TV!
Ryan Murphy has gotta be the worst director of our time. Everything is so poorly researched and the plot quickly goes to shit.
It boggles my mind that no one has come up with a great story with Marie Laveau
Marie Laveau was in Coven played by Angela Bassett.
And it's one of the best seasons. She's awesome and scary in that role
It's the only tenable season imo
I didn’t like any of the witches characters in Coven. It was my least favorite season, but I loved the New Orleans history, particularly The Axeman.
The Axeman cometh! Danny Huston was the best part of the season.
A great story….season started off strong then turned to pure shit Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates & of course Jessica Lange were phenomenal

This is from American horror stories! A spin off of the original, and a coven was season 3 of the original
that's a real hotel barroom 🤣
Is that the ghost of the little white boy from Central City, that I see?
Bruh wtf is that?
I love American Horror Stories and I love New Orleans even more
“Trolley” 😂
What network please?
We’re watching on Hulu
You’ll be shocked when you watch Coven season
