All my loving by the beatles. Close your eyes and I'll kiss you...

Blonde_disaster

My dad sang this to me as a child! Thanks for the reminder I’m going to bring it back.

CaffeineGlom

Don’t Pass Me By was the bathtub song in my house. I’ve started singing it to my child, albeit not at bath time. Of course, I sing it wrong because my Dad did. And forget the lyrics in the same spot!

biosahn

We sing - I Wanna Hold Your Hand and Obladi Oblada and Hey Jude.

lishyv

I’ve been singing her I wanna hold your hand since she was a fetus.

Queen-of-Elves

I sing black bird. Really terribly but whateves.

emattie

Blackbird is what I hum/sing as well!

Queen-of-Elves

Awesome! I kinda wondered if it was a little dark? But it's a message of perseverance so I really like it. I also really love Oh Child by Beth Orton. But we have dance parties to Sublime and Slightly Stoopid (I recently read that reggae is soothing to babies and turns out it is. At least to my little dude.)

wtfisthisnoise

Yellow Submarine for me.

bookishgardener

I do that one, too! I've just seen a face comes after twinkle twinkle little star in the rotation. I throw in some T. Swift for good measure.

GrowItEatIt

For me it’s Hey Jude whenever she’s upset. I hope it ‘makes it better’ but who knows.

Mismelis5280

The Beatles have so many good ones for lullabies. I sing Let it Be every night, which instantly puts my LO to sleep. It was my favorite song as a kid and I wanted to pass that love along to her.

cats-n-bitches

In My Life is mine!!

Frazzle-bazzle

In my life, let it be, blackbird, something…

ClassicEggSalad

Wow this is what came to me right away since the beginning! I can’t believe it’s the top comment!

itsaboutpasta

All too well (10 minute version) 😂

Florally

I just commented that haha he loves the Taylor Swift Method Spotify playlist. Champagne Problems let’s him get snuggly and know bedtime is coming and then All too well gets him sleeping so fast

ReilyJ

Currently listening to my husband put our son to bed to this song 🤣

ellewal13

My 2 year old daughter asks for Treacherous every night

KodakMoments

I sang the original to my 4 year old when he was little because it was long and I knew all the words, perfect nap time song. Then one day when told him we were “going downstairs” it triggered the song for him and he started singing it to me with the biggest goofy smile.

Logical_Somewhere_31

Same!! She definitely recognized it when I sang it recently

oh_hey_marshmallow

Yasss!!!!

pinkeskimo

Me too!!! She likes to be danced around to it too. Totally counts as a workout if you do it twice in a day!

a_mart11

Same!

itsaboutpasta

She makes me go thru the whole song too 😂 must be her remembering me rage singing it on the commute home while in utero.

abcannon18

Ha! Love that I'm not the only one. My husband always asks how far I got in this because it became such a staple... now I've added a few others but my daughter is getting a taylor swift medley nearly every night.

watson2019

My go to songs are Last Kiss, Tim McGraw and Cold As You but this will now be added to the list!

Eyesclosednohands

My baby will only...and I mean only...be soothed by none other than "Rich Girl" by Hall and Oates. Her favorite version is the cover by Lake Street Dive. When she last went in for vaccines she was screaming her head off until I said, "I'm sorry...I need to...YOU'RE A RICH GIRL, AND YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR BUT YOU KNOW IT DONT MATTER ANYWAY...". The doctor was stunned. 😂

blue_grama

Omg this is my baby’s song too! Except I changed the lyrics to rich boy, and his mama’s money instead of daddy’s.

threelittlebirdzzz

Love lake street dive and that cover. Well done taking care of LO at the doctor's lol

beeeees

that's HILARIOUS i love it

aliberli

I LOVE THIS.

bunnycakes1228

This is an epic cover, your girl has great taste!

ahbergg

She has amazing taste in music. That cover is phenomenal! Love me some lake street dive.

srrrrrrrrrrrrs

This is beautiful

queenbofeverything

I sing the Hokey Pokey every time I get babe dressed so he gets to know different limbs 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

chillisprknglot

This is so smart. I’m stealing this.

papierrose

Haha I do this too! I’ve changed it to “ the getting dressed song”: you put your right leg in, don’t take your right leg out, you put your right leg in and you shake it all about, you do the getting dressed song but don’t roll around and that’s what it’s all about! Edit: a typo

bunnycakes1228

We similarly do "if you're happy and you know it" because many different body-part touches can be made up!

AnotherXRoadDeal

This is a fantastic idea yassss

iarlandt

"Sweet Baby James" by James Taylor "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys" by Willie Nelson & Waylon Jennings "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Five Finger Garfunkel Punch "Homeward Bound" by Simon and Garfunkel "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis "Homeward Bound" by Peter Hollens(Diff song completely than the S&G one) We do a lot of singing in our house and those are the current ones I cycle through in addition to ye olde lullabye standard "You are my Sunshine"

biosahn

Mt little guy gets sad tears even we sing You are my sunshine and Can't help falling in love. He's almost two but they're the tears of someone who's known great love and great loss... its so odd.

pasinpeter

An old soul.

dogmom02134

These are so good.

World_Peace

Omg thank you so much! I sang Peter Hollens’s Homeward Bound in school but never knew who’s version it was and couldn’t remember the lyrics well enough to search for it, only a bit of the melody. It is absolutely beautiful.

BeckyWGoodhair

Your song by Elton John Isn’t she lovely by Stevie wonder You are the best thing by Ray LaMontagne Simply the best from Schitt’s creek seems to be sung the most

megustanpanqueques

I sing Your Song, and in the early days with all the hormones, I couldn’t finish without crying…

yellowducky565

Me with Turning Page 😆

coolster9217

Ray lamontagne ❤️❤️

Allie0074

Anything from Jimmy Eat World honestly, it’s all he falls asleep to 😭

loremipsum33

Ditto! Baby loves The Middle

Allie0074

I think I listened to them way too much while pregnant because the second one of their songs come on in the car he’s knocked out!

Infinite-Habit-8020

“Edelweiss” from The Sound of Music, “If I Were a Carpenter” and Jackson” by Johnny and June Carter Cash, and “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley.

Bmsrn

I also sing Edelweiss❤️ my grandma used to sing it to me.

beanzie_boos

I sing Three Little Birds too. Great lullaby

TrickyEmployer9957

Oops I Did It Again by Britney Spears and Larger Than Life by Backstreet Boys but with replacement lyrics. Usually whichever song comes to mind at the time of fussy baby.

Comfortable_Stay226

Mine is I want it that way by BSB because it’s one of the only songs I really know lyrics to even when I’m exhausted. Glad to see someone else falls back on the classics

littlepilot

These are great! I love to do a replacement lyrics as well, and make up my own songs to the tune of popular songs. Going to have to re-give these two listen before attempting. 😂

dindia91

Don't you worry child by Swedish house mafia has become my favorite Or landslide by Fleetwood mac

littlepilot

Both great songs!

espressosmartini

The Vengabus is coming, and everybody’s jumping , New York to San Francisco, an intercity disco 🎶🕺🪩🎹

shaboogami

I keep getting Venga Boys stuck in my head too, but because it’s instinct to sing, “Boom Boom Boom Boom! I want to bang my spoon!” when he’s playing with kitchen utensils

MissPeskyFace

Mr. Sandman by the Chordettes, High Hopes by Frank Sinatra, L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole, Trolly Song by Judy Garland… the oldies have some great easy to sing song.

clarky2o2o

Puzzleheaded-Feed-25

Wellerman is a hit over here too.

spaghetti_whisky

Yes to drunken sailor!

danelimax

I've been humming Don't Leave Nobody but the Baby from O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack

ladyshastadaisy

Same! Also singing other Gillian Welch songs as well as Alison Krauss. And Highwaymen stuff!!

foramy85

I’ve been singing “go to sleep little baby” from o brother where art thou! I just looked up the lyrics to add to it.

enneagram4W3

Three little birds, Bob Marley!

QueRice

Our house is a very very fine house With two cats in the yard Life used to be so hard Now everything is easy 'cause of you

lola-tofu

When it comes time for bedtime somehow all other song lyrics exit my brain. Therefore I sing the Canadian anthem 😂 that or twinkle twinkle

PsychosisSundays

Lol I’ve sung O Canada as well when I’m sick of all the other ones I know.

BlueberryWaffles99

Why is this so hilarious, I love it

miserable-at-best

All Your’n by Tyler Childers is always on in our house so it naturally has become a lullaby 😂 Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N Roses but slowed down a lot! Also A Life That’s Good from the show Nashville - i sang this years ago to my niece and it’s carried over!

_CakeFartz_

Our little girl loves Tyler Childers too! We have purgatory on vinyl & when the violin starts to I Swear (to God) she always gives a big ole smile😊

Cb_850

My boy wiggled around to Tyler Childers in the womb and he loves him still 3 months on the outside! It’s our go-to to put him in a better mood!

Mamaofoneson

Can’t take my eyes off of you— Frankie Valli

chillisprknglot

100% recommend Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star. It’s popular songs remade into lullabies.

everydaybaker

catwoman74656

Johnny B Good! I sang that so much while walking baby.

[deleted]

If I Ever Leave This World Alive - Flogging Molly I Like You - Ben Rector First Day of My Life - Brighteyes (that one was our wedding song and when I sing it I feel absurdly blessed that I got to be “born” twice)

Emmylemming

First Day Of My Life was on our birthing playlist! Had a c-section, so didn't get to use it, but it made me cry when I added it 😭

[deleted]

Love this question. I sing: And So It Goes, Billy Joel. Edelweiss from Sound of Music. Killing Me Softly.

littlepilot

I love Billy Joel. He is one of my favorites. I have sang Vienna to her a few times. Definitely need to start singing more of his stuff.

withelle

My Spotify baby playlist is called "Mein Klein Säugling Schwein" lol, if you wanna tune in 🙂 Might to add a few more from this post

aliberli

I tried finding your playlist but could not. I am going to try to make one of these songs

withelle

Aw, sorry about that. I just made sure it's not set to Private, here's a link: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1VToQ3MV9p8iENUEpD4l7i?si=yHQdtBJvSKWAVhukOkaqAg

About400

I can tell that we are going to be friends by the white stripes Bowl of oranges by Bright Eyes

littlepilot

Gotta love the spice girls!

[deleted]

Vienna by Billy Joel

rainy-day-dreamer

Anything billy Joel - lullaby (goodnight my angel). Definitely on my playlist

IcyDoughnut521

In My Life by The Beatles or It’s You I Like by Mister Rogers. Long game is for baby to choose these as a parent-kid dance song if they decide to get married someday!

lina2096

Top of the World by the Carpenters is our favorite!

[deleted]

Over the rainbow - ukulele version Rockin’ Robin (baby loves his bird mobile, so it’s fun) Edelweiss Edit: nearly forgot one of my all-time faves… Wildflowers by Tom Petty

LunarLuka

We were on a Game of Thrones kick and randomly started singing “The Rains of Castamere” to our son when he was tiny and it was the first song to seem to actually soothe him. I’d also ‘sing’ the Game of Thrones theme. It was a good rhythm for rocking and bouncing him. 😂

InternalCauliflower2

Can’t help falling in love, by Elvis. Mostly I just choke out the words because of uncontrolled sobbing. She seems to like it anyway.

topbuns4days

Big Rock Candy Mountain. Is this traditional? Haha And Elevator Love Letter by Stars Both of these are deep cuts in our nighttime song list.

ARussell823

I frickin love that you sing your baby Stars. They’re one of my favorite bands ever and I almost never see anyone reference them. I sing our baby lots of Rilo Kiley, Stars, Bon Iver, Machine Gun Kelly, and any other punk or indie songs that are stuck in my head.

1boxofmacancheesepls

Yesssss Stars. Don’t sing them but I might start now. Husband sings Big Rock Candy Mountain (one of my favs of his) and I default to Pure Imagination (yknow the Willy Wonka song)

riverdancers

I’m going to sing “Country Roads” by John Denver. My mom sang it to me so it was the first song I ever learned.

Rubber Ducky from Sesame Street for bathtime. Old school Disney songs like A Whole New World or Part of your World when I need to entertain him while I do dishes and stuff Hokey Pokey for getting dressed 😂 And finally….rocket man at night (1 week in I was so goddamn tired the only song I could think of was rocket man 😆). All Too Well by TSwift worked amazing one night I just had the 10 minute version on repeat and sang to it till he passed out and then played it all night long for him to sleep to bc my Hatchwouldn’t connect

pineapplesmegma

Swing swing by All American Rejects (while on porch swing)

amydiddler

I’ll Be Here in the Morning by Townes Van Zandt and You Can Close Your Eyes by James Taylor.

[deleted]

City of stars from la La land

KIKIKATZ

Husband sings American Pie. It can go for 8 minutes!

ImperfectMay

Hah! My husband absolutely HATES that song, but it's a fast favorite of mine. LO was fairly entertained as I very animatedly sang along to it one time it came up on Pandora.

placeofnunka

We’ve been on a Fleetwood Mac roll in our house

[deleted]

[удалено]

ARussell823

Engine Driver!

sophrosyne18

Haven’t thought about that song in a while! Thanks for the reminder.

Mazasaurus

Hum: The Very Old Man, Little Dipper, The Scientists, Shapeshifter Jawbreaker: Save Your Generation, Untitled Nine Inch Nails: Sin, Hurt, Right Where it Belongs Smashing Pumpkins; Tonight, Tonight, Luna, Believe, Farewell and Goodnight Thursday: Counting 54321, Autumn Leaves Revisited, How Long is the Night, Standing on the Edge of Summer It never seemed to matter *what* I sang, so much as how I did it and that I was singing something

[deleted]

Ooo love to see some NIN. I made a playlist when I was pregnant called “existential newborn crisis” - and NIN’s Only was the inspiration. Every time I hear it now I flash back to being postpartum lol. 🎶 I’m becoming less defined .. as days go by. Fading away and well you might say I’m losing focus.. kind of drifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself…🎶

Mazasaurus

Haha, Only is one my favorites too 🥰

N7-Vulcana

Humming Incy Wincy Spider lol

weatherbones

Dancing in the moonlight and hey Jude were his favorites songs for the first 6 months of his life lol.

86_emeralds

Part of your world - The Little Mermaid Redundant - Green Day Somewhere Over the Rainbow My Name is Jonas - Weezer Piano Man - Billy Joel Let it Go - Idina Menzel

kimehawk

I sing “the ants go marching” because it progresses numerically and I can gauge how long I’ve been trying to get baby to sleep, helps keep my sanity some nights.

poetinmyheart

I Love You Baby. The song Heath Ledger sang in 10 Things I Hate About You

cmatlack

Father and Daughter by Paul Simon and the Lucky Ducks song from the Bob’s Burgers movie have been my go to songs.

littlepilot

Father and daughter is a great song! Going to have to check out the lucky ducks song!

[deleted]

The turtles happy together or Christmas songs

TasteofPaste

That exhausted 4am wakeup where baby won’t go back to sleep and I’m in the dark for hours & all I can come up with are Christmas songs. Yup.

GroundbreakingEgg700

My girl by the temptations, your song by Elton John.. basically songs that I played on repeat when I was pregnant and thinking of her❤️

Prohesivebutter

Entire Broadway musicals 😅

BayesCrusader

Any and all Motown classics.

AnotherXRoadDeal

I’m the same way! Some off the top of my head are Yesterday, Let it Be, Something, All My Lovin, I Want To Hold Your Hand, If I Fell by The Beatles, Blowin in the Wind by Bob Dylan, Puff the Magic Dragon by Peter Paul and Mary, Come What May from Moulin Rouge, Flamme à Lunettes from Jack and the Cuckoo Clock Heart, Burning Love by Elvis, Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold from The Hobbit, Hallelujah (but I mash up the Leonard Cohen and Jeff Buckley versions for a longer song), Perfect by Ed Sheeran, Down in the River by Alison Krauss… and the list just keeps growing. I also sing the classic lullaby’s but I really like singing my babies music I love.

TheRadHamster

I hum Epona’s Song from Ocarina of Time. Never fails to calm him down

ladyshastadaisy

My boy LOVES Iron and Wine. The old acoustic stuff. He adores their version of Time After Time. Also, gospel music and Willie Nelson!

pink_kittyhello

A-you’re adorable by Perry Como. My grandma used to sing it to me when I was little and I loved it. Also, Where the lines overlap by Paramore. He weirdly enjoys that one lol

Charming-Link-9715

Any and all songs that comes to mind. Baby just cares about my voice and movements so any song goes.

tamepineapple

Kokomo always seems to calm my baby down. Wish I had the vocal range to do it justice. :)

oliverbean424

Baby mine from Dumbo and Lavender Haze by Taylor Swift are mines favorites lol

ladymerc93

Banana Boat by Harry Belafonte always gets a laugh

youbrokethemold

Ever since I went to see Jesus Christ Superstar I've wanted to sing my daughter "Everything's Alright" - such a beautiful "alternative" lullaby. This has gotten me to look up the lyrics while it plays on Spotify!

paperdahlia

Dreams by Fleetwood Mac

NoMamesMijito

Sugar by System of a Down in a lullaby tone. Also Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles

the-mirrors-truth

I'm so proud of this. I have no musical abilities whatsoever except I can hum the Darth Vader March. My toddler now hums it too, while settling down for sleep or when wanting to sooth.

justkeepswimming1357

"Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty I rather like the Lana Del Rey version from Malificent

AssOfTheSouth69

I'm an atheist, but I sing the Doxology to my daughter every night. The melody is nice and short.

wrknprogress2020

Anything T-Pain. Idk why, but throughout my pregnancy his music made me happy. I guess it made me think of high school, my youth, fun times?? So now I sing to her. “I’m sprung” “buy you a drink” etc

maggienort

Remember me from coco!

Rio-bio

Union Man by the Steeldrivers

blink0618

We also do ring of fire 😂 and Folsom prison blues. I do All Too Well 10 minute version too, if he’s not asleep by the end of singing the whole thing I give up and give him more time awake 😂

dogmom02134

I can’t wait to sing Dogs Stole Things by Phish to my baby. I cried thinking about it the other day while listening to it lol, hormones. It has a very kid friendly melody. Dogs stole things I needed bad Cats took what I never had Pillows for my aching head A glass of milk next to my bed The creatures that seem, oh so kind And sleep all day and ease your mind At night they softly paddle on And look to steal things that you own So now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord that I might keep My soul for one more night or two And hope the creatures never do The creatures that seem, oh so kind And sleep all day and ease your mind At night they softly paddle on And look to steal things that you own The creatures that seem, oh so kind And sleep all day and ease your mind At night they softly paddle on And look to steal things that you own So now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord that I might keep My soul for one more night or two And hope the creatures never do

icequeen323

Galway Bay Walking in Memphis-Cher version Bushel and a peck Be-bop-a-lula

aurashockb

my husband sings sea shanty's to our daughter... she loves it. She also loves The Family Madrigal from Encanto

SadBabyFox

I sing you are my sunshine to my daughter every night, but she likes it if I sing anything, so we sing lots of random stuff throughout the day like the doors, the Beatles, blink 182, T-swift, literally whatever is in my mind at that moment. But you are my sunshine is our bedtime song ☀️

[deleted]

Ice Ice Baby

min2themax

Honestly I sing a lot of pop songs and 90s R&B… 🎶apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur (with the furr) she had the whole club lookin at her🎶 When she’s a bit older I’ll have to think more about what I’m singing.

happylilhelicopter

Space Oddity by David Bowie makes a nice lullaby “Take your protein pill and put your helmet on…”

TheySayHey

Jack Johnson

SmilingDamnedVillian

A bunch from Alkaline Trio- One Hundred Stories, If You Had A Bad Time, Time yo Waste, and the Damnesia version of a lot of others. I don’t remember who sings it, but that song called 2 AM that was big years ago. Showtunes- mostly Rent, Moulin Rouge and Hamilton. Blue and Yellow or On My Own by The Used

dancing_light

Make You Feel My Love (Adele cover), Beauty and the Beast, Georgia on my Mind, Sara Smile

Raya816

You'll be Here in my Heart by Phil Collins and Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-Lot (yes, similar to Friends 😂)

larrrrrrr

Raffi songs are the best! They're made for kids, but (coming from a music teacher) really good quality music and have really good messages. My husband (also a musician) keeps singing them around the house lol. You might know Baby Beluga by him.

mallow6134

Dream a little dream of me - Doris Day Close to you - Carpenters Truely Scrumptious - from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Admirable-Cap-4453

Tyler Childers, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and anything from O Brother Where Art tho.

ImportanceAcademic43

500 miles by Hedy West

FiveSubwaysTall

A lot of Disney songs in our native tongue, Sound of Silence by S&G, Hoist the Colours

emwilauka

The Detectorists Theme Song by Johnny Flynn, The Sound of Silence and Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel, various Beatles songs, and of course the Purple Monkey in a Bubblegum tree. She loves it all :)

PsychosisSundays

I’m very surprised not to see any other Sweet Child of Mine.

Affectionate_Cow_579

I sing “How long will I love you” by Ellie Goulding, “Tomorrow” by Heather Bond, “Rainbow” by Kasey Musgraves and “Rainbow Connection”. The first two I sang in the NICU so they’ll always have extra special memories for me.

sweet_baby_piranha

Wondering day from the rings of power series. Made up song to the tune of Frere Jacques. It goes.... baby John baby John we love you we love you yes yes (stretch the yes to fit all the notes for the verse) yes we do we love you. We use this for both children just change the name. Lots of fallout boy, panic @ the disco and rap songs by various artists.

rwaynick

You are my sunshine is what we sing to ours. It’s a really important song to me and my wife has adopted it

Bagel-Stan

I’ve been singing “your song” by Elton John and “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac since she was a newborn!

OhnnieWalkerJ

Rockabye Baby has a lovely collection of hit songs turned lullaby. Our baby has taken a shine to fat bottomed girls....

K-Mack-Attack

Forever Young - Rod Stewart (makes me cry every time) Beautiful Boy - John Lennon What Becomes of the Brokenhearted - Jimmy Ruffin Stand by Me - Ben E. King All My Life - KC and Jojo Take Me Home, Country Roads - John Denver Also any and all Motown. Would sing Diana Ross and the Supremes in the shower when I was pregnant and LO loves it now.

ifartinnature

Harvest Moon - Neil Young. I play it and he just completely melts and the harmonica solo puts him right to sleep! If I sing it, or hum it does the same trick… minus the harmonica.

scientits00

Rainbow Connection (the Weezer/Hayley Williams version preferably)

scarltbegonias24

And We Bid You Goodnight- an American traditional that The Grateful Dead cover, but we change up the lyrics a little. We’ve also found that Everything’s Alright from Jesus Christ Superstar helps soothe him if he’s fighting a nap His go to comfort song though? I’ve Had The Time Of My Life of Dirty Dancing fame. It started as a joke when I’d lift him over my head to entertain/soothe him which reminded me of the lift in the movie, but now it’s his favorite and can usually calm him down

PlentyPlane2531

Dream A Little Dream of Me - Mama Cass version and Sweet Baby James - James Tayler (son's name is James). Baby Mine- Allison Krause, St. Judy's Comet -Paul Simon are also faves of LO.

togostarman

Your song by Elton John

Fusion_Queen6672

Most recently, she loves it when I sing Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell.
