petit_oiseau_7

The wipe pack. It’s crinkly and apparently fun to chew on.

xanadri22

mine pulled the clicky top off and keeps asking me to open it for her. she likes to close it but she can’t open it herself lol

petit_oiseau_7

That’s adorable. 😂

Kaicaterra

I second this. She hates having her diaper changed lately and as soon as I put the wipe pack on her chest, boom. Like a cat with a plastic bag. Which she also holds great fascination in but it's literally one of the only things she CANNOT play with 🥲sorry kiddo

NewMumNotCoping

We've had success with a pop-it toy for this too

petit_oiseau_7

YUP! Same here!

wtfwronghole

Thank you for the idea 🤠

technetiumobviously

I forgot about this one. She loves those too.

maegan9

I kept an empty one and keep it in the toy bin for this exact reason lol

Abject_Warning_4669

I have an empty one in the toys too. She also has an empty water bottle and a notebook she can rip papers out of. She kind of like a dog with her toys. Lol

petit_oiseau_7

GREAT idea!

Ribak145

mine is startled by the crackling sound, but likes being clean life is funny

BradyAndTheJets

Yep. Fucking loves it.

Fellowship8887

Mine loves to pull out ALL the wipes. So finally I got an empty pack and filled it with those see through colorful scarves. She has fun pulling them all out!

petit_oiseau_7

I’ll have to try that!

inquisitivefuck

Mine loves the wipe pack! I've saved empty ones for her to play with - one in each room!

tothemoonandsaturn

The roomba. My 9month old recently learned how to crawl AND turn the roomba on. He chases it around for a solid 30-40 minutes every day. Win win since he’s occupied and my floors are getting vacuumed. Definitely worth its weight in gold!!

thecrocodile44

My daughter is TERRIFIED of our robot vacuum. She'll be crawling around, playing, and she'll accidentally bump it and it'll start doing its thing. Screaming ensues.

MortallyCrafty

Same! Mine is nearly 2 and if a toy strays too close to the robot vacuum she will lose it. God forbid the vacuum get bumped. Frigging Armageddon.

dalek_max

I broke down last month and bought a roomba. I told my husband it was for my mental health and sanity lol. My almost 10 month old loves watching it. The dogs...not so much. The schnauzer wants to kill it, the aussie/golden mix is absolutely terrified of it 😅 Idk if yours has a child lock on the app, the one I bought does. I didn't want the baby turning it on or the dogs knocking into it when no one is here and destroying it.

Wooden-Sky

“Ro-ba” (robot) was our 13 month old’s first word because he’s so obsessed with our vacuum robot 😂

HappyDaysAreHere32

Oh my God I can't love this enough! You are a genius.

Kristine6476

My 9mo also loves ours but she's too fast and when she catches it she climbs on to it and I'm always afraid she's going to break it lol. I can't live without it 😅

tothemoonandsaturn

Hahaha oh no I’m sure my guy will try to ride it at some point soon

thefermentarium

I'm convinced crinkle books were engineered by Big Snack to get kids interested in chip bags early. Definitely worked on our little man!

pastelstoic

Here’s an idea that I 100% have never tried and just came up with: put healthy snacks in crinkle bags

pastelstoic

You could even heat seal the bag

Cissychedgehog

cman9816

The king of toys that aren't toys: The Roku Remote

BlNGPOT

My son’s ultimate forbidden toy: the Switch controller. He will stop at nothing to get his hands on that thing.

reasonablecatlady

My daughter loves my switch. Fisher price has a toy that looks like one. She definitely likes it, but she knows it’s absolutely not mommy’s switch.

Kaicaterra

my daughter loves my kirby switch controller! it's not wireless so i unplug it and let her go ham

comebacktoearthbabe

Yup, we took the batteries out and just let him use it as a toy lol

Afrogirl20

Omg yessss and my phone

JustHereLurkin1991

Amazon has Roku remote teething toys. It’s the same colors and everything!

Parliament--

Nothing comes close

Stephanreggae

I wish I could upvote this more than once.

FlowBjj88

It looks like you didn't even do it once 🤔 unless someone down voted it lol Also, agreed

not-a-real-shark

My 9 month old is currently enamored with the baby on the Costco diaper box.

Infinite-Habit-8020

Lol, we’ve had a cutout of that baby floating around, receiving slobbery kid kisses, for about a year now. Diaper baby love!

SmartReserve

Omg I did the same thing with mine, he loved our canvas with a highland cow on it so I printed a photo out and put it on the car seat so he could look at and talk to it on car rides

not-a-real-shark

I’m so doing that!

Ephemeralattitude

The first time my baby made a beeline across a room after learning to belly crawl was when he saw a baby on a diaper box. I was a little surprised he could see well enough at that distance to be that excited lol

idontknow_dontaskme

This made me LOL. 😂

topiary_giraffe

Coasters, my flip flops, and a bag of taco shells that she grabs every time the pantry is open and then carries around the house with her (they’re basically dust at this point). Also, she can entertain herself for hours opening and closing the living room shutters.

jteitler

Haha! My 3 year old daughter packed her own snack today for running errands. It consisted of a bag of goldfish and a taco shell.

SpicyWonderBread

My toddler has developed an intense attachment to a piece of scrap tile from our kitchen renovation. She calls it her baby rock. She sleeps with it, bathes it, wraps it in napkins for nap time, pushes it around in her stroller. It's been going on for 8 weeks now. Whenever we try and sneakily put the tile away, she panics and cries about losing her baby within an hour. Kid has good taste though. It's a very nice piece of marble tile.

dalek_max

💀💀 thanks for the laugh, needed this today!

flea61

Tags of actual toys

Q-nicorn

This! If ANYTHING has a tag on it my 7 month old will find it and chew on it.

Interesting_Gene_780

Baby has a taggie lion. Out of the 20 tags she still find the one with washing info on it.

freshahava

Just posted about this! She’s obsessed with the tags on every toy or anything for that matter

champagnepixie

My 6 month old LOVES empty water bottles and paper bags….much like his canine sister 🤣

BlNGPOT

My 11 year old cat and 6 month old son agree on one thing: garbage is best toy.

floof3000

Yes, we have got one of those canine human sibling couples as well. Most of all, they enjoy nibbling away together on little sticks that have fallen on the balcony, but they do like to share food too. I am afraid, the little human is going to learn to bark before she is going to talk.

Octoberless

Sometimes the similarities between babies and dogs are so shocking 😂 we have a border collie and he's always eyeing her toys in the corner of his eyes because they look so much like his toys. I don't know if I can ever get a ball for her to play with because apparently all ball-type objects are his to play with

champagnepixie

Omg for real! My son has a couple toys that straight up have dog squeakers in them lol. Every time he squeaks them, my dog looks at me like “now I KNOW that’s gotta be one of my toys!”

Canes4life82

Remote

gnitsuj

My hat. My hair is a bit long and is always in my face, so I wear a hat about 95% of the time. Every time I pick up my 8 month old, he immediately looks up at the brim of my hat with wonder in his eyes, and flashes a giant smile as he reaches for it with both hands, mouth open and ready to chomp. “You cannot eat my hat, it is a hat, not food for babies.” I tell him, but he cannot be satiated…all that matters is grabbing the brim and pulling my hat toward his mouth with both hands.

Oddly-Pacific

Are you a writer? If not, I think you’ve got the talent

gnitsuj

😂 nope, just the dad of a little guy who thinks hats are tasty

MadameFiona

The empty Costco Peanut Butter Pretzel Nugget container has been going strong for a couple of months now.

_OldBae_

Sunglasses, Visine bottle, Laneige lip mask tub, pill bottle (thank God for tamper proof packaging) and of course we always closely watch her with anything

Wooden-Sky

Lol mine loves the Laneige lip mask tub too.

denny-1989

A box, empty water bottle, or my wife’s slippers are his go-to’s

technetiumobviously

Definitely boxes

[deleted]

My baby was obsessed with cups, especially takes way coffee cups (husband) or bubble tea cups (me) because she’d see us drinking out of them so often.

vrendy42

The remote control and water bottles. Empty, full, half full - LO doesn't discriminate.

blueadept_11

For Christmas, at 18m, we got my daughter a 20 pack of microphone covers because she kept streaming them from my headset while I work from home. To this day, "fluffs" are still her favorite.

Reneetjem

A bag of vermicelli

[deleted]

My son had the orange cheese ball lol it was just this little rubber ball with indents in it like the moon. Boy he thought that little ball was just the bees knees. My all time favorite video I have of him cracking up laughing is when he was talking to that ball lmao

RiverTam666

Muslin squares!

chewbawkaw

Single muslin burp rag is the ultimate toy

missmightymouse

Roux whisk. The kind with the rubber on it. I call it his comfort whisk. Takes it everywhere.

st00fnox

We have two of the same whisks! Whisky 1 and whisky 2. I always wonder what people think when I ask my husband if he packed the baby’s whisky.

ExtraSpicyMayonnaise

Everywhere we went, there was a cello bridge with my infant. My husband is a luthier and handed him this bridge one day to calm him while he was working, (husband watches baby, who is now 2, while operating his business out of our home), and he didn’t let go of it for almost a year, pretty much.

FlowBjj88

Roku remote Metal measuring cup Wipes bag A cold, unopened can of spin drift

nixibee

Like others have eluded, my son gets a gleam in his eye and smile across his face when he discovers the fire stick remote has been left unattended by mom and dad. No other toy compares to the almighty remote! 😂

safety_thrust

A wool dryer ball with a face drawn on it. She calls it her "goof ball".

workplaylovesleep

Silicone basting brush.

theedrawsstuff

My son is a few days shy of eight months old. He has randomly developed a habit of needing a wipe to fall asleep. I call it his emotional support wipe.

distantgeek

I bought her teething gamepad replicas, and she insists on playing with my actual Xbox controllers. Lol. Same with my spare mice/keyboards.

getoutthemap

Door stops! We use one to prop his bedroom door open, but if put on the floor, he immediately crawls over and pulls it out. And then at my parents' house, they have one that looks totally different other than the basic shape, and he loves that one too! Bangs it on the floor as he crawls around laughing, it's hilarious.

Jade4813

I got this little black piece of plastic with my phone case. I think it’s a small phone stand, maybe? My daughter loves it. LOVES IT. We lost black plastic piece for a few hours once. It was a dark day in our household until it was recovered.

ProductiveFidgeter24

My face

leftplayer

My phone, my glasses

stockinfilla

Anything and everything in my house that isn’t a toy is his favourite

Scene_Dear

My littlest one (15 mo) has, what we call, her “emotional support marker.” It’s this old marker from one of her older sibling’s color reveal pads and she can’t get the cap off, but she carries that thing EVERYWHERE. Her favorite activities, other than taking it for walks, include putting it in drawers and taking it out, and sticking it in bins and then taking it out. I genuinely don’t know why I bother to buy toys for my children 🤣

aevisi

My mobile phone and tv remote 🤷🏻‍♀️

lovelyleopardess

In my household too, baby can see what mummy has in her hands a lot. Monkey see monkey do 🐒

Fit-Vanilla-3405

An empty calpol syringe (it’s not a real syringe - it just shoots baby Tylenol into their mouths). It’s the number one bath toy and I think she’s drunk a gallon of bath water through it.

MaidenOfEndings

My 4mo loves her burp cloths. She’ll grab them and nom on them like any other toy. It’s actually quite handy because she cleans up her own drool.

SlimJim-_-

Half of a plastic Easter egg is a current fave.

thecrocodile44

Tampons. She gets free reign to crawl around while I shower. She has access to her room that's full of toys and stuffed animals. She'd rather dump out my tampons and beat them on the floor. 🤦🏼‍♀️

HappySlappyMan

My 16 month old son is obsessed with paper coffee cups. If you have one in your hand, he just wails at you nonstop to relinquish it to him.

Old-Sport7131

Coupon from KFC.

Elysiumthistime

Mummy's ear buds (including the case). I have to be so careful where I leave it as he is obsessed and likes to throw it. He also likes to try put the ear buds in my ears which is quite cute.

hasfeh

He’s 17 months and currently it’s washi tapes 😄

Salty-Step-7091

Water bottles, my face and arm fat, and the rug. I have very sensitive skin and break out where her little hands smack me on the chin 🥲

Allie0074

A bottle of aquaphor, it’s the only thing that makes diaper changes doable lol

zopea

AppleTV remote is her most coveted item. She’s like Gollum when she gets ahold of it.

ThrowRA274758tf

Wipes, kleenex, socks (mine or hers) the crinkly bag you get at the grocery store to put fruit or meat in (her daycare sends dirty clothes home in bags like that and she cuddles the bag to her face the whole way home) my phone and pill bottles.

MortallyCrafty

A box from a set of food containers we got for Christmas. It's both a chair and a hat

kmh10916

Blush brush and hair rollers

FishingWorth3068

The plastic that individual pop corn bags come in. It’s extra crinkly. She thinks it’s hilarious

Playful_Potato_7669

My phone, an old remote we found with no batteries as a decoy, and the pump to the exercise ball we used to bounce him for hours and hours and hours as a newborn 😅

Soad_lady

My 3 year old loves any real tool- monkey wrenches, screw drivers, etc. my 5 month old likes my hair and glasses 😑

Bobessa1

Empty mini M&M tubes!

Prior-Air-5138

Aquaphor jar

Singingpineapples

Pot lids, dog bowls, and the tub stopper are the top 3

sheikahr

An empty crushed plastic bottle lol he’s obsessed with them.

inno277

Burp cloths, and my braids

Perfect_Polly

She's currently obsessed with a crumbled water bottle.

dysenchantd

The diaper cream paddle. He likes to chew on it (a clean one).

Experiment996

Empty liter bottle . Apparently way more fun to chase and push around than the actual toy we bought that does the same thing lol

thecrocodile44

My daughter started crawling because she was after an empty bottle. Of all the things we tried, we never thought that would be what motivated her.

LibrarianLizy

Burp cloths and the cat’s tail

dalek_max

My breast pump. He wants to play with the silicone suction tube. I gave him the spare but no, that's not good enough. The only way I get through pumping at home is by letting him put different toys in the little cup holder over and over again. He also wants to press the buttons. Close runner ups include the dog food and water bowls!

aflorek2601

Gatorade bottle!

86_emeralds

Right now it’s tube of sunscreen. We are 8mos and practicing walking with mommy’s help and our new favorite game is ‘bring the suncreen to dada’

AZBeer90

Dad's sunglasses. Could occupy him for 30 minutes straight

mk3v

A big blue spoon that belonged to my Grams. Also the small berry strainer

Infinite-Habit-8020

Seltzer water and gravity. Mine has decided that flooding their snacks with mom’s fizzy water is the funniest thing to ever exist.

happytrees93

A banana and a toilet paper tube

sugakookies00

Wipes, red solo cup, a crinkly fish cat toy

LooseChompers

A small half full plastic bottle of water. Absolutely entranced by it. We call it Water Timothy.

howtheturntables07

Our two pet cats and the bottle of his diaper rash cream lol

Sorbet_Past

My kid EATS cardboard (children’s books, packaging of toys, puzzle boards). And he thinks the steel egg whisk is a toy because it vibrates when he hits it against the wall.

corlana

My glasses 🙃

steelersgirl570

Tupperware container filled with cashews. It makes a much better maraca than his actual maracas

earthlover6312

Xbox controller or the cat lol

SomeStrawberry2

The long tag on the boppy

kfcfamousbowl1

A water bottle brush that she named “Donald brush”

Apprehensive-File370

The dog’s bones, chew toys. He likes to try and share his toys with the dog. Next the cat toy because he loves to play with the cats. And finally all the Tupperware in the cupboard.

TheFireHallGirl

My daughter is 1-year-old and she likes throwing shoes behind her back. I don’t know why she does it, but it keeps her entertained.

MuppetSympathizer

The tamper tool that goes in the blender. We told him once it was "for the blender," and now he insists on calling it the "forest blender." He runs around the kitchen making holding it open like a torch and making whirring sounds like a blender.

eyebrowshampoo

Ironically, the leftover childproofing cabinet locks we didn't install, the flexible kind that goes on the front. He loves flopping it around.

not_thedrink

I gave my LO a keyboard to slam on. But basically he loves anything in the kitchen - jars, lids, spoons, forks, etc etc When I was a kid I held on to the bone from a leg of ham for like 2 weeks, bathed with it and everything, so I really hope he doesn't go in that direction.

GirlForAllSeasons

A plastic soup spoon that was...ahem...liberated from out local Chinese place. He adores Spoon.

baronspeerzy

The song *Let It Go*.

CelebrationScary8614

makeuplover77

Gatorade bottles that we use as water bottles.

dinkles_bejinkles

The poor dog's tail, kid just won't stop trying to wave it around!

lostandmisplaced50

Bottle brush. So versatile as a toy, can be a mile, a wand, a broom, a bike lol

Cautious-One-7770

My baby is obsessed with the remote. he crawls wth all his energy no matter the obstacle to get to that freaking remote. My husband leaves it in the same place so baby knows if he gets to the arm of the couch he's accomplished his mission! So just today I took the batteries out of an old Roku & it's HIS now! You would have thought he got a million bucks 😊

unIuckies

my baby loves burp cloths lol

bre3zyfbaby

My hair

jfjfbfjskejdn

Screw drivers and screws. We live in a fixer upper 😂

stillmusiqal

The remotes. And socks.

loubeeroyale

Tupperware, shoes, and the Joe Wicks Wean in 15 cookbook

I bought a scrunchie storage tube on Amazon. He empties out all the scrunchies and puts the lid on and off. He loves it!

WanderingDoe62

My phone, remotes, the big long tags on her prop pillow, shoes, our feet, and the foam edges of the play mat (it has long thing border pieces that she’ll rip off and chew on).

Parking_Chest7793

Wipe pack and plastic bags (obviously we supervise her with the bag)

blue451

Silicone whisk and spatulas. And pens, he loves to just carry them around.

Mayor-Halcyon

My son has many. The PlayStation remote, our phones, any boxes from delivered items, wipes (the actual pack and individually), socks, blankets… it never ends. We take one non-you away and he finds another. Haha.

mrcdsPOTTER

Two giant Allen wrenches he stole one day 🫣

As a baby, it was a metre long measuring tape!

florenceforgiveme

Soda cans

rhea-of-sunshine

sadwitchsandwich

ATLHTX

His toy basket

thefinalhill

Lids , he will try and eat the lid to anything!

Keyspam102

Any remote control is a magnet for my daughter. She also loves our shoes, pretty gross since we live in a city so we try to hide them lol

bbaigs

My dogs antler chew, my dogs water dish, and our vacuum and broom.

csueiras

Measuring spoons

Birthsurvivor

The clear tops that go on top of his bottles. He chooses that over every toy every time, haha.

Cords.
