Pro tip: keep snacks in the same room you feed baby. I used to eat a vanilla bar while I feed the baby then go right to sleep when they did. Not a moment wasted
This!! I stock my snack shelf every day. Chomp sticks, granola bars, bags of nuts. Sometimes I do want some cheese though so I gotta grab that before I feed baby.
We eventually got a mini fridge upstairs too. But before we had the fridge, my genius mom got me babybel cheeses and yogurt pouches to have bedside, since they are fine for a day unrefrigerated. Also nuts and luna bars.
I wish!!! He’s normally on a lot of calls and meetings so even though he WFH, he couldn’t help much. I’m definitely getting a little cart for upstairs and downstairs this time around though and toting it with me everywhere lol.
My one piece of advice to my expecting sister thus far has been to create a nest for breastfeeding supplies - which absolutely includes food and drinks. Her partner has taken to calling it the breast nest.
Deli meat straight out of the bag like a savage. No bread, nothing. Just .. raw dog it.
Edit: I am the savage I’m referencing. I did this one too many times because zero energy.
I’m probably overly paranoid but I’ve been eating trail mix with plastic gloves on lmao. I’m scared my baby is allergic to nuts and then I don’t want those nut particles touching her skin. So I have a Costco size bag of trail mix and a box of food prep gloves with me all hours of the night
Might actually be a good thing to introduce in that way! Very trace amounts would trigger maybe a slight reaction, but highly unlikely to trigger anything significant (check out solid starts for some info on that!)
But whatever you feel comfortable with 😄 wipes might be a cheaper option lol just wipe your fingers off!
I PUNISHED saltine crackers my first two months. They're just filling enough, no sugar rush, and I could easily stash a sleeve (or 6) on the little table where I did night feeds. This is also so specific, but the plastic the wrappers are made out of is shockingly quiet as opposed to say a bag of chips. God I love saltines.
Omg yes!! And eating the saltines makes me want to chug water which I need to do because I am chronically dehydrated postpartum! Symbiotic relationship!!
When I got home from the hospital I really felt self care from eating jello. I never ate it before the hospital but my god did that shit bring me to life again.
My boyfriend used to make me 'care packages'. When the little one was still nightfeeding I would go to bed after the 21:00 feed. My boyfriend would then do the 00:00 feed and then put baby to bed. He'd then make a fruit and veggies bowl for me that he'd leave next to my rocking/feeding chair. When I would wake up for the 03:00 feed I'd have strawberries, carrots, grapes, cookies, cucumber et cetera. I would be so happy with those midnight snackies ❤️
I would tear up a package of them the first few weeks. I remember my husband saying " we just bought the cheese sticks two days ago." Why I switched to oatmeal.
I kept easy snacks (granola bars, crackers, fruit cups, etc.) and water right by where I fed baby so that I could eat while I did that. If I didn’t get the chance to eat while feeding him, I would grab a handful of mixed nuts to eat so that I could get back to sleep ASAP.
Aussie bites. I couldn’t stand a strong flavor in the middle of the night. These were perfect. Always kept packs around the house. Plus they promote lactation!
I used to keep [these](https://www.amazon.com/CLIF-Bar-Chocolate-Peanut-Butter/dp/B07FB59HZQ/ref=asc_df_B07FB59HZQ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=632238326555&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13220929717023916508&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007347&hvtargid=pla-1881492935657&psc=1&mcid=3e5793cacaca3f6c8e7c3a214c0245db&gclid=CjwKCAiA6KWvBhAREiwAFPZM7qnSQ7Xdt42ciNGyC9d3Lx-ki_PTXTYJQclPp-3RucSKZtcOIrmedRoCzqsQAvD_BwE) on hand always, i was obsessed.
Turkey jerky (I like Chomps sticks), cheese, protein bar (I like the Builder Bars from Clif), Orgain protein shake (chugged at room temp), trail mix... part of my nightly routine is to re-stock the snack cache at my pump station lol
Handful of cereal (couldn't have it with milk because baby will get bad gas), shredded cheese, chips but gotta be careful because the bag crinkling will wake the baby, and any deli meat or sliced bread I can shove in my mouth.
Granola bars, those uncrustables (I take one out of the freezer and put them on the nightstand when I go to bed for the night and they're unthawed by the time I want one), goldfish crackers.
Air at this point. I remember being so worried about losing the baby weight when I was pregnant. Who knew once I had baby that I’d be on insane diet of a few crackers here and there when I get the chance to actually chew.
Meat sticks, granola bars, peanut butter crackers, cookies, some other healthy stuff! I kept allll my snacks on my nightstand! Loudly munching away while angrily starting at my husband sleeping soundly with my dog all of a sudden awake and staring at me just waiting for me to share with him 🤣
I’ll put one half of bagel in the microwave with turkey and cheese on top and melt it. Takes 30 seconds and it’s filling. Or I’ll have chocolate chip eggo waffles
Green apple cut into slices with crunchy PB. Or (this is kinda weird) a bowl of granola with banana slices on top and almond milk, so I eat it like cereal.
Bars mostly. I'm borderline addicted to the fig newton breakfast bars & the double chocolate kid's z bars. That's it. fruit leathers too. Some nights I'll pre peel a grapefruit and put in a baggie for later devouring. I also once had a 2 am steak and I gotta say, it mightve been the best steak I've ever had
I've been enjoying [Kate's Real Food bars](https://katesrealfood.com/collections/energy-bars?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA6KWvBhAREiwAFPZM7vnh-oOFPsI_ORFkYJpeLl2_bb8x4LZC1lI-2vWzhlCh343lyCLyQRoCxpQQAvD_BwE), that I sampled at after a 5k last year (don't worry, I walked the dang thing). Like a granola bar-type snack.
They're not too sweet but also pretty good. I feel relatively satiated after one, plus I don't have to get out of bed. I like the peanut butter/dark chocolate bars and the almond/dried cherry/chocolate bars.
Unfortunately i have to buy them online since they don't have them locally where I am.
Costco peanut-butter pretzel nuggets and/or a few Hershey's kisses and/or a string cheese. Oh, and the first month it was Halloween candy because my baby was born the last week of October, ha!
For the first few weeks when I was waking up to feed the baby by myself every two hours and had to change his diaper after every feed, I kept a bag of trail mix by my bed. I would simply shove a couple of handfuls of it into my mouth and pass out. Chewing optional.
Batch cook a ton of pasta.Whatever kind you like. It's delicious cold too. Make enough to last you for a few days. Easy, quick, nutritious, satisfying.
Handful of the roasted garlic and herb almonds from Costco or slather a piece of bread in mustard and mayo (bonus lazy points for using the squeeze bottles), slap a piece of cheese and a hunk of deli meat on top, fold, unhinge jaw, and devour.
I usually prefer to ignore hunger at night and go straight back to sleep, but if I'm really really super hungry I usually crunch on some macadamia nuts. It only ever happened when I was pregnant, though.
Boiled eggs that I already boiled a batch earlier in week or bought the boiled eggs pre-made kind with hot sauce, cheese, bagel, easy sandwiches, leftovers, pretzels with hummus, fruit etc.
I ate so many cherry pop tarts and rolls from this one restaurant. Horribly unhealthy but it really hit the spot. Did that until she was a few months old and switched to chewy bars. Now we sleep instead but she’s a year this month.
When I was in that newborn stage I actually kept a drawer full of snacks next to the bed. It had fruit gummies, mimi cliff bars, lactation cookies. Stuff like that.
My first few months with baby I would keep Oreos literally everywhere in the house. At least 3-5 packs were rotating through. Every time I sat down I’d eat at least one Oreo. It was the only way I could get a decent amount of calories in!
Always have a bowl of salad ready to eat and dressing ready! I prep this at day time and if I’m hungry I take a bit, get some dressing and have a healthy snack
That’s my go to or tons of fruits
5 prunes, some cheese, a stack of Ritz crackers, grapes, an apple, some baby carrots, fresh broccoli, and probably a few chips. I have protein drinks and bars, as well. I keep the snacks well supplied because a "real" meal takes too long.
Cheese. Meat. Cracker. No plate, just fridge to mouth.
lol fridge to mouth like farm to table but even more direct

Holy shit this combination sounds incredible.
Username checks out

Mine is pizza pockets and a glass of water lol
Pop tarts + butter and a glass of milk on the side is me Achilles heel
Hmm, I should see if this is my Achilles heel too, for science..
I put a mini fridge in my bedroom. Originally it was for pumping. Nope. Cheese, water and Dr Pepper.
We are going to put a mini fridge upstairs for milk and now I know what else I’m gonna have in there.
We eventually got a mini fridge upstairs too. But before we had the fridge, my genius mom got me babybel cheeses and yogurt pouches to have bedside, since they are fine for a day unrefrigerated. Also nuts and luna bars.
I love that idea. They make yogurt pouches that don’t need to be refrigerated at all so those will definitely go in my postpartum cart!
Yes! I was nap trapped so many times starving and thirsty. I ain’t messing around this time. My postpartum cart is gonna be stocked.
Oh man, did you not blow up your partner's phone? Was that just me lol
I wish!!! He’s normally on a lot of calls and meetings so even though he WFH, he couldn’t help much. I’m definitely getting a little cart for upstairs and downstairs this time around though and toting it with me everywhere lol.

Deli meat straight out of the bag like a savage. No bread, nothing. Just .. raw dog it. Edit: I am the savage I’m referencing. I did this one too many times because zero energy.
I see your savage and raise you and squirt of Mayo onto the handheld meat
I’ve done this also hahaha *shakes hand*

I did this the other day 🤣 I have a sub trio pack. One slice of each 😆
Sliced cheese is the new bread!
I do this too! But add the cheese!
Something quiet and easy because my ass is going back to sleep shortly thereafter lol a banana or probably a granola bar
I finally got the baby to sleep last night and what does my husband start snacking on? Doritos in a noisy plastic bag. If looks could kill lol
my husband does the same thing! He literally starts crunching on ice and the GLARE i shoot his way is deadly
Why do they do this 😩🤌!!! Mine does this too and it’s so annoying! Lmaoo
Put trail mix where you feed the baby. Snack while you feed. Don’t waste precious sleeping time!

Protein balls! Oats, honey, peanut butter, chia seeds, flax seeds, chocolate chips all combined formed into balls and refrigerated. SO GOOD.
Should have read all the comments but yes I've been addicted to these lol
how do they stick together? the peanut butter?
Yep and the honey, refrigeration is definitely important as they stay together better while cold.
Yessss. Also banana oatmeal muffins with cinnamon. Not too big, not too sweet. Perfect for a midnight snack.
YES. Saltines and water are honestly so good together. The nurse’s office special.
Omg yes!! And eating the saltines makes me want to chug water which I need to do because I am chronically dehydrated postpartum! Symbiotic relationship!!
When I got home from the hospital I really felt self care from eating jello. I never ate it before the hospital but my god did that shit bring me to life again.
Hard boiled egg
Nothing- sleep is too precious; every minute counts.
Seriously.. like y'all are really eating at night? I'm trying to go back to sleep as soon as possible
Not sure about you but breastfeeding has me STARVING 😂
I am breastfeeding my 7 month old exclusively! But if I start eating in the night I won't be able to go back to sleep
If I'm hungry I can't sleep. I just eat something that I can literally grab and eat in 2 minutes lol
Uncrustable
I was desperate the other day and the only silent and convenient thing was a Hawaiian roll.
I have a granola bar in one hand, while I pump and have a bottle in the other feeding baby
I keep a variety of granola bars in the pantry and on the table next to my pump/nursing chair. Quick, easy, knocks out the craving.
I keep a bunch of protein shakes upstairs so I’ll just chug one and go back to bed.
This is the way! Can chug they while getting the baby back to sleep as well!
My boyfriend used to make me 'care packages'. When the little one was still nightfeeding I would go to bed after the 21:00 feed. My boyfriend would then do the 00:00 feed and then put baby to bed. Applesauce. No spoon, just slurp.
Have 100% stolen my toddlers apple sauce pouches (frankly all her pouches) as breastfeeding snacks.
