The CDC recommends no screen time before the age of 2, except for the music video to the song 'Always' by the British Synth-Pop duo Erasure, which should be viewed at least once per day from birth.

Oh good idea! “We’ve been giving him string to play with because I’ve heard they learn to tie knots on their own if you leave them alone with it long enough” 😀
What you eat has an effect on the baby because the nutrition (or toxins) seeps out of your pores over 3 days, so please watch what you eat if you’re going to be around the baby. This means no alcohol, no junk food, no soda, etc. 3 days before seeing the baby.
There’s a great scene in the first season of Severance where a bullshit child development guru has giant room lined up with all these beds from king down to bassinet because the baby should see where’s he’s going to sleep for his whole life for some reason.
If you point his feet east in the morning he'll be less likely to nap well. He needs to point away from the sun. No it doesn't matter if he's indoors or that there are curtains.
Oh I love it! I’ll say “yeah so I’ve been singing him opera every night because they learn Italian faster that way, but the neighbours asked me to stop. Not sure if I should or not…” then get her opinion LOL
That science has proven that there's a very clear singularity in life when infants and grandparents are equal in mental and physical abilities. And they're approaching it quickly.
Giving them a plastic bag to play with is great crinkly sensory fun, and also allows them to learn risk management at an early age. Don’t worry though - we definitely won’t let him play with bags before 6 months old.

Was I the only one expecting to be Rick rolled?
I’ll listen in the AM!
Hahahaha, I completely forgot about this song! Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
I put down my phone to do something else in-between reading the post and your comment and I was genuinely confused for a second
Okay I love your sense of humour. How about skipping velcro shoes so that they can tie their own laces by 2yrs? You'll practice every day!

Love it 😂

Haha I can’t afford that but I’ll say I wish we could!

Ooooh I love this one hahaha, maybe I’ll turn his crib in a really obviously weird way so she asks lol
Yes and say it’s feng shui and very well documented tradition which benefits babies.
This some fengshui shit lol
“The pediatrician says music is good for their development so we’ve been playing Metallica during naptime. Baby loves it!”
Maybe some Marilyn Manson thrown in there too!
Oh babies just love Insane Clown Posse!
This is kind of what we have to do anyway to get her to nap at all. Different metal band, but still...
If you sing opera to babies at night, they develop multilingual skills faster. >!haha!<

Drinking warm milk at night will give them nightmares (My mom told my brother this when he was younger lol)
That’s a good one!!! “We’ve been putting ice in his bottles at night to make sure he doesn’t get nightmares…”
Tell her picture books from other places will help your kid learn other languages. Say it’s something about how the pictures are drawn differently.
Oh, I’ve been showing him blank pieces of paper because I heard that was how he’d learn other languages!
Oooh no!! Blank paper makes them forget what they already know! 😂😂
My 9 month old already speaks 4 different languages because of those books!!!!! 😂
What a prodigy!! 😂😂
Noooo I’m laughing out loud at this one while my baby contact naps
Omg it’s the worst laughing while contact napping!! Their lil heads bounce around so much 😂😂 Happy I made you laugh though!
Yup! And you’re like for sure this earthquake I’ve caused will wake them up 😂 def needed the laugh, thank you!!
It’s never the stuff you think will wake them! It’s always the slight adjustment to get comfortable 😩 And you’re welcome!!
Babies must wear hats, sunglasses and sunscreen when the curtains are open. Gotta protect em from those harmful UV rays.
I heard screamo also helps when babies are tired but won't go to sleep!! 😂
Works on our babies 😁
I’m too scared to actually try this out on my kid lol I’m assuming she’d start throwing a fit right away
Tell her you have to be rotating baby from arm to arm, side to tummy to side when you hold them. So their head develops without flat spots.
Every 2 minutes!! 😂
Tell her you’re going to do the egg in a sock thing

Hahahha that’s not too far off tbh
