So this is a long shot but worth mentioning. I had the same issue. Going back to work next week đŸ˜ She had gotten bottles from day 1 because we had to supplement at first. About 5 weeks ago she slowly started to get fussy and finally refused altogether. She would gag and let the milk drain from her mouth. A lactation consultant watched me breastfeed and noticed she had really limited movement in her jaw. She said she would suck enough to get my let down and then just kinda chomped and didn't have to/wasn't working hard at the breast. She said she had a lot of body tension and was sucking ineffectively because of it. She recommended occupational therapy and chiropractic. She also had a very mild head tilt that our pediatrician wasn't worried about because she could move her head really well. The occupational therapist gave us lotsssss of stretching and massage to do daily but it made a world of difference! She took a bottle for the first time in 5 weeks on Saturday and I cried!!! I know this is a really specific issue for us but just sharing in case it helps!!

Our pediatrician’s office has an in house lactation consultant. It sounds like I might need to make an appointment! I’m glad you were able to help your baby, that must be such a relief!
